Always a great place to stop for a beer or a meal. Chris was my bartender. Completely professional. Remembers what I had last time (March) to drink and had it at the ready. Wings were great... Happy hour... 15 wings 9.99. More...

Great vibes, good tunes, awesome place to get outdoors and hear some music and have a few drinks. Open air mini concert hall with a dance floor. All kinds of fun to be had.

The blues battle that was here was epic!!!! The food is great and so are the drinks. Parking is tight so get there early. Also bring some cash with you if you want to utilize the outside bar during the conceding let the location or the appearance of the building or local fool you. You will not regret it.

Fine food at Skippers, bands are outrageous! We have been here three times to see live music. First was Melody Trucks a few months back and this time was for Betty Fox band and had the added treat of seeing Ari & the Alibis for the first time. Skippers has quality food AND quality entertainment. Worth the price of admission and then some More...

Classic old Florida style Seafood restaurant with a banging menu. The Man I dinner was delicious. The conch fritters were huge and the oysters were fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive. But to put the icing on the cake so to speak, the Key Lime Pie was top notch, A1. Definitely a family style restaurant to put on the list! More...

Skippers is a classic spot in the Tampa Bay area. Delivering solid eats and great live music you can't go wrong for a night out or weekend day hang out. Oysters are always a good bet as well as the famous Grouper Reuben. Also try the Gator Ribs for something unique. More...

Skippers is one if the best live music venues in Tampa, and probably the best place for Blues. Five of us went on Saturday night and enjoyed everything from fish dip and crab cakes to smoked mullet, fried catfish, jerk chicken, and alligator ribs. The food was very good, and the Melody Trucks band put on a great show. I highly recommend Skippers for an evening of good food and great music. More...

If you live in Tampa and haven't gone to Skippers or are not in love with Skippers you need to reevaluate your existence, ha.

Everyone here is always so friendly and the food is amazing for the first time in my life I had gator ribs just to expand my foodie career but ended up falling in love and would absolutely go back for them.

I understand it is a Caribbean vibe but for the love of God you make enough money to install a $400 floor air conditioner or get some ventilation in your bathrooms.

So close to Busch Gardens we made it a dinner stop afterwards and introduced the oldest kid to the local rustic environment of Skipper's. Food was as good as always, the fried mushrooms are a LARGE, tasty order for a very fair price. The wings were cooked perfectly with good sauce flavor, again fairly priced. The Grouper Reuben was as good as it was years ago! The only small complaint I would voice is that the conch fritters while large in size, were too bready, not seasoned very well, and the conch could have been prepared better as well as distributed more evenly through the fritter. The conch was fewer, larger, chewy pieces instead of smaller ground pieces throughout for the flavor. We ate in the restaurant area and could hear the live Saturday night music playing out back and had an overall great time! More...

This place is fun. There's almost always a great live band playing. Solid beer selection. Multiple bar areas. It's kind of a hole in the wall. ..but that's the charm, and it's fun. If you are into wings, I doubt you'll find better wings anywhere else in Florida. Nice people too. I've been here twice, and it's on the list of places to go when I travel this way. More...

Decent place. Music was good. I didn't give it 5 because the mixing of my beverage was not good. There was so much over pour of liquor, my drink tasted very bitter. Environment was happy, people were happy. Nice place to go, and the food was good. I will visit again because the pace does have a good vibe, people seemed fun. More...

If you like great food and a relaxed casual atmosphere then Skippers is for you.
They have the best hamburger I have ever had (they cook them on a smoker grill giving them a smokey taste). When in season great fried green tomatoes. If you like smoked fish then you are in luck. They make Great smoked fish.
Want oysters on the halfshell? Go have a seat in the oyster bar. They even have an outside concert venue. Check with them for event listings.

First time here in quite awhile. $2.50 pints and 2 of the best appetizers we've had in years. Wahoo nuggets were meaty and very tasty. Crab stuffed mushrooms were also very hearty with a delicious horse radish sauce. Both prepared with minimal breading. Comfortable, no frills, relaxed digs with an excellent wait staff. More...

Was in Tampa when a friend recommended that we check this place out. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but the parking lot tells a different story. We ordered the gator tail, Skipper's platter and blackened shrimp-it was all delicious. Be forewarned though, the blackened shrimp is very spicy so if you aren't a fan of that, I would avoid ordering these. The atmosphere is relaxed, the music is good and the service was friendly. I would recommend to anywhere looking for good seafood in an unassuming environment while in Tampa. More...

Very good food! Please do not base a choice to try this place based on a poor review because they are probably from people that are not judging places consistently. I've always had good service and good food. If you take a look at some of the "local guides" ratings you will see odd reviews. Fort instance, you can look at Christopher Mink's other reviews and see he gave two fast food restaurant an excellent review while only giving this restaurant a mediocre review. Good job Chris...I'm sure food from Tijuana Flats and Sonic were much better. Anyway, there are also many shows that come through and you will enjoy the fun, welcoming atmosphere. More...

Excellent venue for music. Super sound with a laid back island style outdoor music stage. The place is big. They have several bars the outside venue area is cash only with an ATM on site. I did not care for the food. They serve mostly smoked seafood on Styrofoam plates with plastic silverware. Small portions for the prices, sadly I have never had a satisfying meal there. Waitstaff are busy but helpful. Come for the music. More...

There are two separate parts to Skipper's, a restaurant and the music venue.

Most recently, I went for one of their British Invasion shows. The venue portion was packed. If you are attending on a busier night, you might need to pay $5(cash only) for parking or be prepared to walk a little bit.

They had multiple bars open (the credit card bars had a bit of a line, but the cash bar I never waited longer than 3 minutes). If you don't show up early for a larger show like that, don't expect to get good seating however. Despite the feel of the bathrooms(band stickers and graffiti galore) they were incredibly clean given the number of people.

The stage and audio setup was much better than I was expecting and is truly the draw on the venue side. The musicians they brought in were all excellent and they ran through the band list on schedule which I almost never witness at local shows.

The restaurant side is much smaller by comparison, but no less appealing. I had clam chowder which was excellent and the other plates I saw brought out were equally appetizing. Don't expect 5* service or presentation, but you'll get great food for fair prices.

A fun place that is somewhere between a dive bar and a cozy, cluttered restaurant decor. The difference is it is authentic, not a want-to-be theme restaurant. The gator ribs was amazing. Tasted and had texture like pork ribs, but without the fat. More...
