I came from another SMS in TX with my reactive dog, this place is GREAT! I had to board my dog several times, and we also attended group classes on Saturdays. This place has so much experience, the trainers were able to give a whole different perspective. This really helped with my dogs reactivity. The staff here is great, and truly cares about the success of the dogs! More...

Three years ago we got our dog Chico from Haws. He was a cute 9lbs Chihuahua. Fast forward to a month ago. Chico was running our household. He was only nice to me and even sometimes attacked my husband and other dogs. We couldn't have visitors because he has bit every person who came here, even was quarantined by Waukesha County. On walks he would chase cars, bikes, people, and was totally out of control.  My husband and I have not been able to even do a weekend out of town since we got him!  That lead me to Sit Means Sit. Their program is based on fear and aggression. At the consult Chico was trying to constantly attack people. I signed him up for personal training. I dropped him off the first Monday for an 8-4 session. When I came back Chico was calmly sitting in a room with other people and dogs!  He looked RELAXED!  I could not believe it. We just completed our 4th session and I couldn't be more proud of Chico. He doesn't bark, comes, sits, stays in place. Even on walks I see a dog and tell him to sit, he does!  He is focused on me. I was shocked to learn he was fear based and probably scared most of his life. We're now building both of our confidence in each other. We will forever be grateful to the awesome trainers Leonard and Seth who became Chico's friends. Seth even refers to Chico as his little buddy!  Thanks so much for changing our lives!! More...

Another great experience with SMS. We have used Sit means Sit twice now. It was 8 years apart but still great service, great trainers and a well mannered dog in the end. We had a high strung puppy that was terrorizing my older dog and also my youngest daughter. We started out with the puppy group class to get the basics of having a puppy in the house again. It was a great overview and foundation to start from. But it wasn’t enough for little Sophie so we signed her up for the 15 day board and train. It was wonderful. Gemma and her staff treated Sophie like she was their own. They sent photos and videos to show her progress along the way. When we picked her up I was amazed out how well behaved this puppy was. She knows so many commands and is no longer terrorizing the family. We still train with her a few times a day to keep building on this foundation and she is doing so great. Thanks to the team for taking care of Sophie and training a well mannered, happy dog. More...

This is the second time that I have used Sit Means Sit to train my dog. This time it was a rambunctious puppy that had no manners and was terrorizing my 9yr old dog and 10yr old daughter. So we opted to start out early with the puppy group glass to get her acquainted with other dogs and people. We followed that up with the 15 day board and train. Gemma and her staff are just wonderful. They really know how to train your dog in a fun way that leaves them with many commands and a happy dog. I feel like they treated her just like their own pup. Constantly sending me videos and pictures of her progress while she was gone. They took the time once we picked her up to review the commands and what we need to do as parents to keep the training going at home. In addition, they are going to teach my daughters so the whole family can participate. We also chose to board our older dog towards the end to really incorporate the two. If you are looking to have a well trained dog that is fully integrated into your family and enjoys the training, this is the place for you. Thanks Gemma and staff, this has been a great and so happy with the results. Darin, I appreciate you. More...

After 15 days at SMS, he is under total voice command, doesn't pull on his leash, and is extremely well-behaved in public. It's great for him because we can take him just about anywhere dogs are allowed. He's much happier overall because that means less time away from us. I am at a camping rally this week and I cannot thank Linda and all of the trainers at Sit Means Sit, enough for the work they  have put in with Rocky and help they have given me to help him gain confidence and focus. Before we left, I had some concerns that he still would have a hard time with all of the people and the tons of dogs we would encounter but he has done better, here, than I have seen him do anywhere. He has rocked it going off leash, to the point I am not sure he has had the leash on since we arrived. He has been social (yes, actually social) with both people and dogs and when he gets nervous, he has been mostly, automatically looking right at me for direction. These are exactly the results I was hoping to see. He has been one of everyone's favorite dogs at the camping rally and I have had several folks ask where I took him for training. I cannot tell you how much fun he is having, here...and how he will miss his life, here in the country. Thanks, again, for the work you have poured into him! More...

Oh my goodness, I dont even know where to start. The shock collar lol. Like most pet parents who refuse to hurt their babies, I was absolutely against the collar. I believe you could train your dog with love not fear. After my consultation, I still felt iffy about the collar so, i allowed them to test it on me. Sounds crazy but if it hurt me, it would hurt them. It didn't hurt at all! The way he put it "you could use anything to mistreat a dog ex. A newspaper, a leash etc. It all depends on HOW you use it" which makes sense, the collar isnt used to scare your pup, it's a way of getting their attention. (Which comes in handy if your baby is anything like mine and loves to run in the street -_-) i ended up signing up my two 7 month old dobermans for their 10 day training :) BEST DECISION EVER! 10 days without my babies was pretty hard but I recieved photos and lots of videos :). THE COLLAR WAS NOT THE ONLY THING THEY USED TO TRAIN. They used the leash, praise, and treats! My babies came back with SO much knowledge and discipline. They loved their trainer Chris. You could tell Chris truly cared about our pups. He had nothing but good vibes. Needless to say, sit means sit did an awesome job! We totally plan on going to the group training and being consistent with all the puppies have learned so we could ease of the collar later on in the future. More...

Sit Means Sit is totally changing my relationship with my dog (Blitzen) and giving me peace of mind plus lowering my daughter's anxiety.  Blitzen is a Maltese-Mix rescue from Korea and is a sweet dog.... to me. Unfortunately , when he became comfortable in our family he started barking at everyone, barking at any noise , scratching  at the front door , barking and going nuts in the car , barking at people 2 blocks away when in the car , going nuts around other dogs, jumping around in the car and just being straight out uncontrollable. (Dangerous) The worse part was when he started attacking my teenage daughter at least 3-5 times per day when in my presence.... Literally biting her . He seems to feel that he must protect me  because when they are home alone they are best friends. This causes major angst in our home life . In fact it totally sucks ‼ I decided on choosing the 10 day program where Sit Means Sit literally would pick Blitzen up and Train him in their facility in Huntington Beach. I have to say during this time I totally missed him but it was a nice break. Our trainer ,Kyle , sent a couple of videos a week apart which was nice to see Blitzen's new routine and that he was listening and applying . On dropping Blitzen back at home ... Kyle taught My daughter and I the ropes of working with Blitzen .  I spent plenty of time each day reenforcing what Blitzen was taught and training myself to follow through for the best result for our family ( mainly to deeply instill the commands and make sure he was listening and obeying . ) Today we went to the Sit Means Sit facility and trained there .  Blitzen was so distracted with me sitting on the sidelines and ignoring him basically . He was barking , whining, wanting to run straight to me .... we kept with all the instruction that Kyle feed us and finally Blitzen started behaving ‼‼. Thank the Lord... no one wants a unruly, bossy, stubborn dog . My daughter and I still have lots of training to do to help Blitzen realize it's better to behave than be a jerk.  I am just so happy in my soul that we chose to work with Sit Means Sit because they go through all the tough areas and help us to stick to the plan of consistent training for the best outcome . Maggie has since crossed over the rainbow bridge, and I have recently adopted Meadow, a 3-year old boxer mix. I decided that the first thing Meadow & I needed to do was enroll in SMS so they could get us started with good manners & behavior habits. We did the 3 session day training program. Pre training, i had leash burns on my hands from all the jerking and pulling. Now, just 3 weeks later, she is an absolute joy to walk. We are now enjoying group classes. This is long over-due, I wish I had used Sit Means Sit sooner. When my French Bulldog was 1.5 years old she started having separation anxiety. We were never able to get her to crate train. No matter what she did, she would poop, pee and rip things up in the crate. When we left her out she would rip up our carpet. I had a friend that SWORE by Sit Means Sit and after spending a fortune on doggie daycare I decided to finally give them a call. We sent our French Bulldog to the 10 day board and train and she came back so well behaved. I'm not going to lie, we were a little nervous that her loving and outgoing personality would be changed because of the collar training. Let me be the first to say, it didn't change at all!! She came back just the same loving dog with better manners. Sit Means Sit also got her crate trained!!! We walk her off leash at our apartment and are constantly being told "your dog walks better off the leash than all the dogs on a leash here."For example, just this week a small child did not ask to pet her, we weren't paying attention because she was under our table at a restaurant. Our dog sat down when the little girl came at her and allowed the child to pull her ears, poke her in the face and kiss her face without moving an inch. We just recently got a 10 week old corgi and have already enrolled her in Puppy Training to be followed with a two 5 day board and trains. Patrick at Sit Means Sit was very helpful in finding the best package so that we can ensure that our Corgi is as well behaved as her older sister. We enjoy taking them EVERYWHERE with us and it makes us proud when people compliment how well behaved they are.
