Our little girl Stella was a handful. She is a Corgi/Cattle Dog-so all herding dog. Stella is good with humans but her siblings and other dogs, she wanted to lead. She would walk by and snip, bark and if it really came down to it a throw down. We tried "time out" maybe a spanking. She slowly figured out, 10 minutes-I'll do my time and then back to yard I go. We tried a bark collar and even medication. Nothing was working. Our 2 males would always be very still when she would walk by. Almost like if you avoid eye contact, maybe she'll go away. At the end of the day 3 dogs is a lot, but one with behavior issues is hard. Sit means Sit worked. It was a blessing. Stella is much better with other dogs. We are able to have other dogs over. My husband and I are able to hug in front of her now, which used to upset her. She listens and follows commands. She understands with or without her collar. She will get a treat here and there but her training reward, is strictly praise. We moved out of state so we've just been doing daily practice. This class really taught her manners/boundaries and to have less anxiety. It was well worth the time and money spent. The staff is really great. They worked with her but with us also. Abel and Jon have been great to work with! I initially held off on training for a few months because of the cost but now I wish I would have started earlier because I saw a change from day 1. I used to dread taking my big Saint Bernard on walks because he would bark at other dogs and pull but after some lessons with Abel, my dog Apollo is an angel. He meets and greets all sorts of dogs and doesn't react to other dogs anymore. I feel so much more in control and enjoy taking Apollo out to breweries and parks now. Totally recommend this Sit Means Sit location as they have really made me enjoy walking my dog again! More...

WONDERFUL!! I feel compelled to share my positive experience; a true example of what a wonderful life changing program sit means sits offers. Both my huge (potentially intimidating) dogs are my everything. Both will be able to live healthy successful lives because of their training with SMS I trust SMS south Denver with my babies. I started with Sit Means Sit in July of 2011. Gidget was adopted at 12 weeks old, I knew that if I didn’t start training right away, I’d have a huge dog that I wouldn’t be able to control. I had seen Sit Means Sit demos before and was amazed. I knew right away I had to call Sit Means Sit. Gidget loves Jon and he was great with training her and I also learned how to positively train Gidget. Group classes weekly got us through the stubborn years of puppyhood. Now at 4 years old, Gidget can be trusted off leash in the front yard or walks, stay on place with house guests and come when called. Jon has gone the extra mile with Gidget and has also helped us learn the sport of dock jumping and many times I have Jon to thank for Gidget’s success! I recommend Sit Means Sit and Jon to all my friends and know that any new dog to our house will go through the program as well. This was the best decision I made for Gidget and I. Thank you Jon! We have a very anxious 1-year-old puppy (Ziggy) who was a real challenge for me and my family. We were desperately looking for options to help our situation as we were not gaining much ground with puppy training programs and self-education. We met with Jon back in October 2017 and he sold us on the board and training program. Ziggy spent 16 days with Jon, Abel and Lindsay and we could not be happier with the results. They did a fantastic job of laying the groundwork for us to work with moving forward. Not only did they train Ziggy, they also trained us on the techniques necessary to get the results we desire. We knew that the process didn't stop when Ziggy came home and we have been very diligent in continuing the training to this day. Ziggy has made great strides in becoming a well behaved dog that is much happier and calm. A special shout out to Abel who spent the majority of the time with Ziggy. He is a professional and very knowledgeable in this space. We continue to take Ziggy to group training on Saturdays and Abel is always there for support and to answer our questions. I would recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone looking to receive a great dog training experience! Nice job guys! More...

Our 1 and a half year old Golden Retriever, Charlie, is doing amazing, thanks to Jon and Abel!! We were so on the fence about dog trainers and if they really worked, until Jon stepped foot in our home and listened to our frustrations and stories, and told us exactly what he knew Charlie would be capable of, and things that could be fixed and worked on. My boyfriend was hesitant about the whole "shock collar" concept, until Jon reassured him that it is a positive reinforcement rather than a consequence. He had us hold it in our hand and feel what Charlie would feel to get his attention and work on commands, and it just feels like a simple buzz, not a cruel shock. We went ahead and did it, and I am so glad we did, I would not look back for a second. Charlie has done a complete turn-around and I am so proud and happy that we did this! The team has shown us that anything is possible with pups, as long as the owner puts in time and effort as well, because it is a joint commitment! We are now onto group sessions to work on distractions, and we are so excited! I have already recommended our neighbor to Jon and Abel, and will continue to recommend anyone I know! Well worth it! When we adopted our lab, she (Daisy) was housetrained but not leash-trained. Daisy also likes to "play hard" with other dogs and thus we were hesitant to take her to the dog park. She has a huge hunter's instinct, so we could not let her off leash in dog friendly parks where this is allowed because if she saw a squirrel/rabbit/etc., she'd take off without regard to our calls to "come!". This was problematic as we want to give Daisy a fun life, and have fun with her as well, which involves having her both leash trained and off leash trained. In June, we signed Daisy up for the all day training sessions. Jon and his staff did an amazing job. Within the first week, she was leash trained. Working with Daisy outside of class and implementing what Jon and his staff taught her, we are now to the point where we can comfortably take Daisy to dog parks and also have her off leash, knowing she will come back to us. In fact, in lots of instances, we don't need to use commands as she will anticipate and perform actions before we can give commands. Off leash, she walks right at our side until told she can "go play". Worth the money! More...

I wish I could give Sit Means Sit South Denver and Jon Langdon more stars! What they did with my hyper, boxer mix was amazing. She is a high energy dog who had major leash aggression and problems jumping on people. We had tried every other dog training under the sun. No luck. Finally, we sent Frankie off to a full 10 day submersion program. I was worried she would come back timid, or lose her personality somehow. Nope! She came back her SUPER hyper self but the difference was--she would listen to us! Even as much as she wants to lunge and lick your face--when she hears "sit" she actually sits until she is released. I cannot express the joy I felt when I was finally able to walk my dog (and she wasn't walking me) AND we were able to walk by other dogs without her lunging at them. No more stress for me. It is not cheap but it is WELL worth the money to have the peace of mind that a well behaved dog brings.
