Sit Means Sit has and is a important part of my Family (family meaning humans and dog) life. The talented staff at SMS Lexington provided invaluable training for ME and my dog. Their boarding and kennel services along with continued willingness to provide training and care advice are invaluable. We were from the very first visit and continue to be treated like family and the staff have often gone out of their way to help me weather it be with training or kennel services when life has unexpectedly taken me away from my dog dad duties. I highly recommend Sit Mean Sit Lexington. Their knowledge, skill and services far exceed the cost you incur. More...

They approach with consistency and rewards, very few corrections. Dogs respond very quickly to the training. Trainers are very approachable and you can see immediately how dogs respond to their commands. Impressive!

Sit Means Sit is great for professional, high-quality dog training in the central Kentucky area. My wife and I love our 3-year-old goldendoodle, but have been disappointed with some of his behaviors. The staff at Sit Means Sit have given us the skills we need to train him well. We are very pleased with how well the training has worked for our dog and would happily recommend the business to anyone interested in dog training. And last but not least, our dog loves it! He really enjoys the training. More...

This place is amazing. My dog went to them basically a hot mess. He had recently turned 2 (so big mental development) while at the same time I was very pregnant. And as he is a doberman he became very protective. Dogs that he used to be best buddies with he would suddenly not let anywhere near me and became aggressive towards when they pestered him to play. He also was terrible on the leash,to the point where even a prong collar wasn't helping anymore! I sent my pup to their 10 day boarding camp program and I he came aback a different dog. He is so well behaved now. Not only does he listen to me, but you can tell he is better mentally balanced. Now that he understands what I expect out of him he isn't stressed all the time and he doesn't get all worked up trying to figure things out. Part of hte training package I bought includes group training classes. We finally went to our first one this past weekend and he is already learning new tricks. At his pace we should be able to compete at rally competitions in the next month or two! I can't speak highly enough of this place. More...

PR and the SMS team have worked my dog Merle since he was a puppy. We purchased Merle with the hopes he would work a special needs assistance dog in my classroom for students with significant disabilities. PR traveled to my room multiple times and made sure we were successful. Merle is a treasure and my students are thriving. Thank you SMS! More...

We started at Sit Means Sit in May and have already completed 6 private lessons! The people here are amazing! They are very knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, and always there to help! We had our most recent lesson out and about and it was so much fun. They are willing to go places and answer all questions. We are thrilled about how good our 7 month old puppy is doing. Going from wild, nipping at our faces, pulling and uncontrollable on a leash.......now he obeys our commands and is a dream to walk! He even is getting amazing at off leash! I highly highly recommend Sit Means Sit Lexington! More...

I highly recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone looking for help with their dogs! I never thought I would need help with my dogs and I didn't like the idea asking for help, call It pride if you will, but I am so glad I did. My golden retriever was 6 months old, 50lbs, and drug me everywhere. He jumped on everyone he met and has knocked me down several times. He didn't know what boundaries were and Sit Means Sit helped me change that. They answered all my questions and taught me how to be more confident with my dog. I know there are a lot of doubts about the e-collar but the trainers are really patient and informative about how to use it. It really is a positive training tool when used the way they teach, and to be honest, I rarely have to use the remote anymore. Duncan learned his boundaries and he knows what he can and cant do. Because of them, he gets to go everywhere with me. He doesn't pull or jump and rarely wears a leash at the park. He is happier and so am I. I get asked all the time who trained my dog or why is he so well behaved and I'm proud to give them Sit Means Sit number. Check them out, you wont regret it! More...

Trainers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Did wonderful things for my dog. Although communication is not the best, you tend to play phone tag and wait a few days for an e-mail response.

Buddy was adopted when our Jack Russell of 12 years passed away at the age of 19. When we brought Buddy home, it was just my wife and I at home, and he settled right in to our family and was the perfect dog. About two weeks after we got him, my wife and I had to go out of town so my daughter watched him for us. She has two small dogs, one of which is blind and wears a halo so she doesn’t bump her head in to things. Buddy and the two dogs got along famously with no issues. After a couple of months of living with us, my daughter had to medically retire from her job and sell her house, so she moved back in with us. That is when the problem started. Buddy would randomly attack the blind dog Stella. This became so bad that my wife was bitten 3 times trying to break them up, my daughter was bitten once, and poor Stella was bitten several times. There was never any indication that he was going to attack, no growling or body language that I could see, he would just snap and viscously attack her. We called our Vet to ask for suggestions, and she recommended a couple training people, I called one of them and he came over to the house, walked in with a German Shepard and Buddy went nuts. After a couple of minutes of this he told us that there was probably nothing he could do to adjust this behavior and there was no way we could bring a service dog in to our home as long as Buddy was there. He said that the only thing he could think of trying was severe isolation therapy for the dog. Without going in to allot of details, it was 3 weeks of misery for us, and it made poor Buddy so nervous he got very sick, and it was a waste of allot of money. My family had come to the breaking point and was insisting that we give Buddy back to the non-profit. The trainer was telling us that would take at least 8 months of this training before we would see any results. I was sick about this so on a last ditch effort I Google searched “aggressive dog training, Lexington KY” and by the grace of God, Sit Means Sit came up and I was introduced to PR. I read that it was free consultation so I thought; I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We met with PR the next day, and he did more to help Buddy in an hour then had been done in the last month. I am thrilled to say that Buddy has responded remarkably well to the training, and there has been constant improvement and there hasn’t been any aggression in over a month. Sit means sit was our last hope, and they are absolutely everything that we hope they would be. Buddy got to stay in his forever family, and we got to keep our dog! This was worth every penny to us, and I cannot recommend sit means sit highly enough! More...

A friend recommended Sit Means Sit Dog Training to us and I am very happy we called them to help guide us through the training process with our 7 month old puppy Gunner. We love the personalized training geared toward Gunner and his specific needs. We love the many options and opportunities for training, Gunner improved with every training session. We also love the idea of doggie summer camp, it gives Gunner a chance to bond with other dogs while still learning and having fun. My husband and I are extremely happy with Sit Means Sit Dog Training and look forward to many adventures with our puppy thanks to their awesome help. Thanks for everything, you all are awesome!!
