Simply Ballroom

This was the perfect place to have our wedding. We were young and didn’t have a ginormous budget. Rachelle and Alex worked with us. It is so inclusive, yet still gives you freedom of choice for vendors. Rachelle is a built in wedding planner, and Alex even designed the print outs from our photo booth to match our theme. My mom cried when we came in on the day of the wedding because before we even put our own decorations up, it was already so elegant and beautiful. Everything is set up and cleaned up and takes away so much stress, and puts us at ease. And they have specials and promotions that help you afford the upgrades you want. They work with you on everything. While they let you select your own vendors, they still have suggestions in practically every price range. There was no judgment on what we could and couldn’t afford. At the risk of repeating EVERYTHING that's already been said in previous reviews I will just say Rachelle and Alex were amazing. After looking into other venues, Simply Ballroom was the obvious choice. From planning to the final event, Rachelle was helpful, but not pushy. She was patient, understanding and extremely easy to work with. The day of the wedding, everything was exactly what my daughter and son in law had requested. When the reception started getting busy, I looked around and there was Rachelle and Alex helping and reassuring us everything was under control. Alex performed nothing short of a minor miracle in teaching my husband and me how to dance. He took a dumpy, slightly clumsy middle aged couple and gave them dancing feet. And he made it fun! I never have to drag my husband to lessons, he really enjoys it. Alex has an unbelievable amount of patience, and it never seems to bother him, having to say something for the umpteenth time, until we finally catch on. We really like the way he breaks a dance down into small easier parts, and builds back up into the actual dance pattern. We always go away from class feeling like we really accomplished something. Alex also has the ability to relate dancing to a skill set the student understands...in my husband’s case aviation..talk about yaw and suddenly Paul begins to get it! Alex has an obvious love of ballroom dancing, and has a real talent in being able to convey this to his students. And as I said he makes it fun, we laugh a lot while we’re learning. Thanks to Alex, my husband and I now have this unbelievable skill, that we can share together. I never would have dreamed it possible! My fiancé and I did (entry level) dance lessons to prepare for our first dance as Mr. and Mrs. It was WAY better than anything I expected. My husband who was dreading it, actually really enjoyed it as did I. Not only was it perfect to practice to our song and learn some moves, turns, etc., but Alex was an amazing instructor. He is clearly passionate about dance and had no hesitation about spending a quick 1:1 opportunity with either my husband or I to perfect a move. Hanging out with Alex during lessons was as comfortable as being with a friend. We felt like we could totally be ourselves! The final comment I would make is that this turned out to be a really fun and personal "date night" time for my husband and I. I took a few lessons with my wife there. We bought a package that was a great deal to get started. Rachelle our instructor was awesome and it was clear she loved what she was doing. After our package was up We either had to do personal lessons which I thought was a little high or take the group classes. We learned towards the group classes but either they were to far along in the class to let us in or the new classes they were starting in my opinion were not very popular or well known for our area. Because of this we decided to look elsewhere because we really wanted to focus on salsa dancing. More...

We took private dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding. Alex was our instructor and he was GREAT! Alex as an instructor has a good understanding of how to not only teach dance, but to relate to his clients. He was patient, knowledgeable, and experienced with dancing and teaching. I booked my wedding with Simply Ballroom. I had both my ceremony and my reception held at their place and I was beyond satisfied with the service I received. Rachelle and her husband were more than accommodating. They helped tremendously on the day of.. all the "behind the scenes" clean up, tear down, pick up- everything was perfect. Simply ballroom is by far the best studio to go to in Omaha! Both Instructors Rachelle and Alex are as talented as they are friendly. If you go into their studio with a lot of experience or none at all they will make you feel comfortable learning all while having a great time. They take the time to teach you proper ballroom and Latin dancing steps, you won't be pushed through the steps when you're dancing like other studios have done with me before, they do the steps first so you can mimic them then they do them with you (you don't feel hurried to get them done). I would recommend the group classes first then you can utilize the private lessons to really hone your skills. A beautiful venue that was near our church in Midtown Omaha. The owner was very easy and nice to work with. You aren't required to use a particular caterer or bar service, so there was lots of flexibility. Great space for dancing during the reception. A fair price. They ran photos we provided on the big screen TVs. We received a free dance lesson, too! They do not have microphones or any equipment, you must bring it all in. They need to have a kitchen or bar sink - there was no place to get water to rinse anything out. The lighting needs improvement - there's no dimmer. The lights are either bright on or dark off. So we brought in all of our lighting to create the atmosphere we wanted. More...

Simply Outstanding would be a more accurate name! Alex worked with us on a father/daughter break-out wedding dance. I got Simply Ballroom private dance lessons for my wife on Valentine's Day this year. We spent several nights since then with Alex learning the Waltz. Alex was amazing and was able to get us moving all around the dance floor. We also went to some group lessons with Alex and was introduced to some other dances.
