Sharon is wonderful! Our pup looked forward to seeing her every week, as did my husband and I! She is very knowledgeable and patient, not just with dogs but humans as well. We saw a significant improvement in our puppy's behavior after just one visit. Sharon taught our 1 and a half year old commands, took walks with us and even accompanied us to the dog park to help with training. She also helped getting our pup used to the arrival of our new baby which was a major point of worry for us. You can tell she truly cares about dogs (and cats) and genuinely wants to see them succeed! More...

I have known Sharon Mear for many years and she has provided training for my beagle Molly and my beagle Bodie who had food guarding issues and was not good with large dogs. Sharon has been an excellent trainer to both of my dogs and she has also worked with me helping my cats get along with each other whenever I have brought a new cat into my home. I highly recommend her for dog training as well as any cat behavior issues. More...

Sharon is a miracle worker! My partner and I were at our wits end trying to integrate a new cat with our resident cat. Nothing we did could get our resident to stop hunting the new guy! We found Sharon online and we waffled a bit--do we really need to call in a cat expert, what can she tell us that the internet can't, etc. etc. We were so, so, so wrong!! In our 90 minute session Sharon did a full evaluation of the cats and their environment, taught us some invaluable techniques and practices to aid in the integration, and she did so in such a supportive and caring way that really made us feel empowered to solve this problem. After a few weeks implementing her techniques, we successfully integrated the cats! She is truly, truly an expert. If you're hesitating to call her, don't! More...

I am absolutely grateful to Sharon for her kindness, expertise and wisdom in helping my Maizie who was using my apartment as her own pee and poo bathroom to overcome that issue and others with behavior modification. Sharon's patience and continued support helped my Maizie to move through this period successfully and my home is no longer a toilet. I am absolutely comfortable to continue to reach out to Sharon for questions I may have and knowing she is there makes Maizie's unexpected behaviors so much easier to understand, navigate and resolve. I highly recommend Sharon who brings 25 years of experience to help fix the most difficult of animal behaviors. More...

Sharon was a life saver and such a pleasure to work with! I was so overwhelmed as a new puppy mom and she immediately helped to provide guidance on all things puppy related. She was thorough in her training and my little Ellie loved the time spent together. More...

First time dog owner here!! I met Sharon while walking my puppy Dustie at the time. I tried group classes before working with her alone, we worked inside and outside. She taught me so much about my dogs behavior and the importance of focus. Working with her was really great, she identified my dogs needs and taught me how to properly train him. She is very patient and accommodating and Dustie loves her!! I would absolutely recommend her for all pet parents for any behavioral issues and training your furry friend! Thank you Sharon. More...

I had tried someone before Sharon and was not very satisfied. Sharon was the polar opposite -- very detail-oriented and practical, giving us material we could use to practice better behavior in the future. We left feeling very encouraged.

After calling several places I went with Sharon as she was the only one that asked about my situation and the dogs needs first, before saying how they go about their training. I also preferred Sharon's approach to the training.

Sharon was always on time, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and had command of our 4 month old English Bulldog straight away.
The training is customized for you as well as your dog. Sharon followed up with emails that contained 'homework' and valuable information for you to learn more.

I highly recommend having private lessons - money well spent and have recommended her to numerous people I've met looking for a trainer. I'm currently an inpatient in one of the units here, I would give it five stats but it's just too well used a place, the staff try to work miracles with almost no support from the NHS, the patients are rightly cranky and frustrated and unfortunately they take it out on the staff making it almost impossible for the staff to do their jobs properly I give it 3 stars purely for the staff without them I feel the place should be shut down

We enjoyed working with Sharon for our retired racing greyhound, Rosie. Sharon helped show us how to teach Rosie basic house manners, and how to help with her leash walking. She has a positive and fun approach to training that worked well for us and Rosie :) More...

Sharon was a MASSIVE help with our 11-month boy, Bronco. It's not easy having a 50-pound puppy living on a busy street in Manhattan. I work from home and have had quite a challenging learning curve getting to know my new dog and what he needs to stay happy. Sharon was recommended by our vet in Chelsea and she was extraordinarily responsive and extremely generous with her time. She made sure we were learning in a style that was effective for Bronco and he was very receptive of her style and technique. She provided additional guidance on appropriate treats, toys, and overall well-being. Importantly, she taught me how to engage my puppy to play while also training - so that we could have fun together while working on commands. I am so grateful for our family's time with Sharon! Truly life-changing! More...

We contacted Sharon to help us with our two Scottish Fold kittens. We are first-time pet owners, and though we did a good deal of research before we brought them home, we still couldn't understand why one of our cats was acting so angrily, and had numerous questions about veterinarians, feeding, grooming, playing, and other kitten needs. We really wanted the best for our kittens. Sharon was wonderful with them, answered all of our questions, led us to sources for toys and feeding. She even sent us emails later with more helpful links. Sharon Mear is kind, professional and very knowledgeable. I recommend her highly! I have used Sharon's services at two different stages of my dog's "puppyhood". I first used Sharon about a year ago to help my dog Casey learn basic manners (sit, stay, come, off). She was very helpful and her techniques really worked. About 10 months later, I called her again to sign up for three more sessions. My dog had started becoming more aggressive on his walks, often growling or barking at people on the street. Not only was this embarrassing, but I was started to get worried he would lash out at a human. So, Sharon showed me how to train him to walk more calmly, and so far, her advice has worked. Casey still isn't perfect on the leash (what puppy is?), but I now have an arsenal of tools I can use to distract him from strange humans on the street, and get him to focus on me at those times. Overall I would say that Sharon is great, and her approach is first-rate. I would, however, remind people that it is up to them to implement what she shows you. If you are lazy and don't practice with your dog, he or she will quickly forget what they've learned!
