Shar Mitchell Hair and Makeup

The entire experience with Shar Mitchell was easy and quick, which is what I needed. I went in for my trial first where Shar was able to take what I described and create it with my hair.

Then, on the day of the wedding she arrived on-time and ready to go! I emailed her a time schedule beforehand since I had a few women that had to work around other set up activities for the big day. Shar was very respectful of that timeline and even brought on another gal to help with the hair.

I loved having Shar cut my hair! Not only was she super nice and easy to talk to, but she did such a great job on my hair. She listened to me explain what I was hoping for. And it turned out even better; my hair feels very healthy and happy now. I have long and thick hair but she still took the time to blow it all out. She did a great job on my moms hair. My mom left just glowing and so happy. She said “this is the best hair cut I’ve ever had! ” and asked me to take a picture. I absolutely loved getting my haircut by Shar! I was very impressed by her neat, cozy space and how professional everything was. I think it was the nicest place I've ever gotten my hair cut! Shar was so great. I don’t think I’ve ever had a hairstylist ask me my opinion on the progress of the haircut/ style as often as she did. Once my hair was blown dry (I have super thick hair, so props for her patience with that!) we decided to add in more layers. After working with Sharlene on a hair and make-up trial, all my nerves from working with a new stylist settled down. Before I hired her for my wedding I met her at the salon in Draper and enjoyed looking around the store. When she came out, her hair and make-up looked good and she was polite, albeit a bit quiet. We did a hair and make-up trial and she was very flexible with designs and helped me improvise a floral hair piece from a wreath I had made. She also brought me over to the window to see my make-up in natural light and was kind when I asked to make some changes. On my wedding day she brought another stylist to help, Mike. He was great, a bit more of a character than Sharlene but they seemed to compliment each other. I had a huge wedding party and as the day went on we began to run behind a little. The first two appointments ended early and I wish I had moved up the next appointments but I didn’t want to rush anyone. In the end, my advice to other brides is to make sure you account for giving your stylists a break if you have a big wedding party, ask ahead if people want fake lashes because that takes extra time for sure, and have access to tall chairs and outlets ready when the stylists arrive. Sharlene did an outstanding job with my hair and makeup, and she was extremely accommodating in every aspect.
