We ordered food thinking we could eat on all the picnic tables they have outdoors since there were multiple people sitting and drinking beer there. When we sat down to eat we opened up our bags and they ran out and said "YOU CAN'T EAT HERE." Sooo people can sit and drink beer no problem, BUT you can't sit, drink beer, and eat food?!?RIDICULOUS! They were so rude. No signs anywhere saying you can't eat on the patio. Terrible customer service. One girl in our party  was using the bathroom so we had to wait for her to finish and they came back again asking if we were leaving even though 2 in our party ordered beer. More...

The Shalhoob's NEVER disappoint! Whether we are ordering meat pack or ordering food (to-go for now until we are able to dine in). We are local and it was our first time here living in town for 15 years. We got burger and tri-tip sandwiches. Â The quality of meat was excellent Without a doubt. We picked up our food due to the restriction of restaurant closure related to Corona virus. We were planning to have our food in the car. There was no napkin and no utensil in the bag to have our salad which was disappointing. Also the price is high, we paid $80 for three sandwiches and three cans of kombucha before tip. Shalhoob what a treat, best lunch I ever had in Santa Barbara. Â I ordered the avocado sandwich with fries on the side.My dad ordered the classic SHALHOOB sandwich with fries as well on the side and I also got the Mexican street corn. When I took a bite into the Mexican street corn it was so luscious and creamy that I was about to explode of how good it was, all of the flavors with the cheese, mayo, and chili pepper where combining to make the best flavors of corn. Then I had avocado sandwich which was sourdough bread, cheese, beans sprouts, avocado, salad dressing, and tortilla chips. Once I took a bite into the sandwich it had a crunch that was so crispy that I couldn't wait to get another bite. You could taste all of the ingredients bonding together to make the ultimate flavor. With the cheddar cheese being zesty as possible. The dressing combining with the avocado and the bean sprouts made such a tangy flavor.Lastly the bread making a crunch to cover it all up. When I took a bite of my father sandwich I can taste the barbecue sauce and feel it dripping down my leg. The meat was so tender and soft that it had the texture of a marshmallow and melted in you mouth. And the bread mix perfectly well with all of the other ingredients. On a trip to SB we decided to eat dinner at Shalhoob before heading home. Shalhoob is not located on the main street where lots of restaurants, bars and wineries are located.  I checked them on Yelp first was pleased that they had 4.5 stars.  There is lot of free parking available.  Santa  Barbara has changed a lot, a lot of business here now charge for parking.  We ordered the street corn which came in a pan, garlic fries, chicken wings, smoked chicken, ribs & mac N cheese; lot of food for 2 people...enough to feed four, buttered bread!!!  :-) The food is so tasty, they give very large portions as well.  They offer plenty outside seating with shade.  They cater events.  Some of the tables are barrels with umbrellas.  The service was GREAT.I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed. I had the chicken and the tritip sandwich with fries. Great flavor on both meats!! Chicken - Flavorful, more on the peppery side. I don't think I've had chicken that tasted like this, so good! Tender and tasty! Came with slices of bread with butter and seasoning. TriTip Sandwich had salsa inside that was diff from most tritip sandwiches. It gave the sandwich a nice kick! I've been really impressed with Shalhoobs especially during Covid! They are one of the very few restaurants that allow happy hour and thankfully past 7pm! ! HALLELUJAH. The food is tasty and they serve great portions and they do a good job with social distance. I've been coming here often and will continue to support them. Grabbed a spiked kombucha while waiting for a to go feast. Love that all the grilled meat plates come with garlic bread and pickles. Â The street corn appetizer is my go to and I have a hard time resisting the mac and cheese. Great patio. All the seating is outdoors, but there's a good amount of shade (important in sunny SB). Great sandwiches and very nice staff. Pricey but the quality is there. Only knock was ordering to go they wouldn't include a drink in their combo (usually wine/beer but I asked if they would do iced tea and was told no). Still great food.

We came here while on a recent visit to SB. It had some really awesome photos online and it looked like it had a cute patio area, so why not? We ordered the brisket, burgers, some wings, and fries. The burgers, wings, and fries were a hit, however, I think the brisket could've used a little more fat. It was on the drier side and needed to be accommodated by a lot of BBQ sauce to give it some juiciness. The patio was super cute and perfect for a summer day. Nice outdoor patio with tables spaced out. Employees all wearing masks and seem to be not really communicating to assist out on service. A lot of people waiting around for refills or other items requested Food wise not too impressed the pulled pork was insanely salty couldn't finish it and the shalhoobs burger was really greasy the bun was soggy and sloppy. Order the Tri-Tip sandwich. You will Not be disappointed. Several layers of thinly sliced tender beef, a flakey kaiser roll, and a side of tasty bbq sauce for dipping, makes this sandwich hard to beat.

Absolutely love the fact that this place still offers happy hour during Covid times. I believe its Tues-Thurs 3pm to close & Friday 3pm-5pm. Such a great deal with their happy hour prices -- half off on any handhelds and appetizers. They have a large outdoor patio which is a plus especially during this time. So how their system works is that if you want to dine in, someone at the front will give you a table number and seat you at your table. Then you would wait in line to order & give the cashier your table number. Food will be delivered to your table. My friend and I came out to Santa Barbara to beat the LA heat this weekend, and we decided to check out this spot for dinner. I immediately loved the backyard BBQ feel of the place. Alicia is truly hostess with the most! She really set the tone for our experience, and I can always appreciate a kind encounter. She recommended the Tri-Tip sandwich, which my friend absolutely loved. I ordered the Chicken Cesar sandwich, which was also phenomenal. You can also never go wrong with a side of elote. Mmmm! Shalhoob's is a great place for dinner! They have delicious food and a large outdoor patio. We decided to get our food to go and take it for a beach picnic, they have it dialed in. There is someone at the front entrance directing people and the to go orders are brought out there so you don't have to go far to find your food. And they are very fast, we ordered around 6 PM on a Saturday and it took 20 minutes!While their individual meals (tri tip tacos, avocado salad, tri tip sandwhich etc) are all super delicious, a go to for us has become the BBQ plates. It comes with a TON of food at a good deal. We ordered a 1/2 pound of pulled pork and 1/4 pound of trip tip with a side of fries (don't skip the fries they are so good,on my top list of French fries in SB) and the total came to right around $20. It comes with some garlic bread and we brought our own side salad but if you want some vegetables they have a few salads you could choose from. This is always more than enough for 2 people and we had so much meat that we were able to turn it into carnitas/tri tip tacos for leftovers the next night! We were looking for a lunch spot near the beach with an open patio after playing in the ocean all day. Finding places that cater to my vegan diet and my partner's omnivore diet can be difficult. Made a reservation here on a Sunday just hours before arriving which was already a plus for me that they were able to accommodate my party of 8! We each ordered a different items from their menu and were impressed with just about everything. Given the current covid situation, it was nice that the tables were pretty scattered, and their plates & utensils were all disposable (with the exception of some drinks which required a cup). Freshest shrimp I have ever had in Santa Barbara hands down. We got the corn off the cob which was delicious and convenient. And we got the shrimp Po boy and oh my god was it amazing. Wow. The barbecue was life affirming and I now understand why some people can be do into barbecuing foods. You need to eat here! Pros:-The best bratwurst and pulled pork I've ever had in my life.
