Firstly, DO use companies like mypieceofcakemove.com. You may pay a little more, but guarantee your items will be safe and preserved.
Also, check their reviews and I regret not using them in the first place.
Seventh Generation has a (mafia style) set-up where they turn up on the day of your move only to hold you to ransom and claim additional space is needed so try to bump you an extra few thousand dollars. Their communication was awful but worse, they completely wrecked our items and make you sign a waiver to limit claims against them. This company has no regard for your items and is simply there to shaft you over.
Avoid this company at all costs...you'll thank me for this (and others who have experienced them).

First, I need to say that I booked through a broker, and they share a bit of blame for the bad estimate.
HOWEVER, 7th Generation obviously did not communicate with the broker that hired them because when they arrived, they told me that the actual move cost would be $10,000 more than my quote.
It was moving day, I had no other choice but to borrow the money and pay. The movers tried to compact things as well as they could which resulted in me ONLY paying $6,000 more than my quote, however the job was much bigger than they were planning for which resulted in a two day pack, putting me a day behind. The movers on this side had a great attitude, and I might even not be writing this review if things were not so bad on the other side. (Even though it felt like extortion.)
I thought that now 7th Generation was clear about the size of the move, and I had certainly paid for it. The driver showed up the morning he was supposed to, but no movers. They finally arrived about 2PM, three guys about 20 years old, and when they saw the job they refused to start until the next morning because it was too much. The next day they worked hard, one literally almost passed out from heat stroke, and because of the lack of people they did not put together the furniture as 7th Generation promised and I paid for. I had to insist that the driver help me get at least 60% of the plastic and moving blankets off and take them in his truck so that they didn’t leave all the garbage with me. (He wasn’t happy, but he did it.)
I had paid for a piano move, but the 3 guys would not move it, so 7th generation found 2 other guys who said they could do it. They showed up with no ramp and no specialized equipment, so I had to help them move the piano in. They could not put the piano back together, so I had to hire someone else to do it. At that point, I was just so thankful we got it in the house without damage.
Unfortunately, several other things were damaged. I let them know about three big items, but it’s been 19 days since the move, and I have yet to hear from anyone about reimbursement or the results of the insurance claim. They answered me at first, now they are just ignoring my calls and texts. Because they didn’t put the furniture back together, we have since discovered two other pieces that were damaged, and we still can’t find my son’s Playstation VR. At this point though, I’m going to stop wasting any more time and frustration about this move and let it go, but I wouldn’t feel right without warning others about my experience first.

Trash.. scumbags stole 1.5k of my stuff at least took over a month to get our stuff was just finishing unpacking they stole so much of our stuff laptops, insta pot, a box of women's shoes they just helped them self to all of our stuff I was told they would pick up our stuff and it would be on its way shortly. Not that it would be held for a month at a third party storage site our boxes had water damage... They had no reason for why our stuff was missing they told us to file a claim and maybe they could do something witch was total bullshit More...

SUMMARY: Estimators at this company grossly under-quote to gain the business then you are stuck with the bill when the expectation is not met.
My total cost was 177% of the quoted costs. Far beyond budget.
DETAILS: I looked around at many movers and talked to a few. This Seventh Generation ask about the move and I described in details the items we had. They suggested we add another mover to the reservation in order to make the move faster and he talk about how this would save money. With three movers I was quoted 2 hours to load the truck, 1.5 hours driving (x2 for drive time) and 1 hour to unload. I put all the boxes of the move on the ground floor days before the movers came in order to speed up loading. This unfortunately did not help. The movers took 5 hours to load the truck, 2 hours to drive (x2 for drive time), and luckily I was able to rally some friends and family to unload in order to limit my unload time to 1 hour. The movers took more breaks than myself, or my friends and family. They could not maneuver furniture around corners or stairs well, including trying to force a couch that was too wide for a railing through the narrowest section. When I called the office to better understand why expectations were not met, the person at Seventh Generation implied I was responsible for his low estimation and I should be happy I used them because a competitor would have charged me more for the overtime. Again, I explained the move and all the furniture to the company before they quoted me, so I don't find this excuse even marginally acceptable.

This is the first and only moving company that I have written a review for, and I was excited to do so! Â I have other projects to move and I will be calling them within the week. Â I found Antonio and his crew (all of whom were respectful and professional) on yelp--he responded to a message I put out about moving--Antonio wrote to me and had a plan for my move. Â I was impressed and ready to work with him. Â My escrow company/title company which bc they have my ss # deserve bad reviews, keep changing my funding date. Â Antonio was the only consistent person that I worked with. Â He and his crew (Jonathan, Jesus, Adolfo, and Carlos) put together bed sets and children's play sets with tremendous ease. Today my wife and I had the pleasure to use this company to help us with moving tons of furniture from our storage unit to our new home. The three guys who helped us were truly amazing. I expected the difficult task to account for at least 5 hours. I was wrong, they performed excellent skills that blew my mind. The whole move took about 2 1/2 hours instead. Just a few enormous items they put exactly where we wanted was a Cali king bed, refrigerator, treadmill and dinner table. They handled everything in an efficient manner plus were extremely friendly. I met Antonio a while back, didn't know he worked for a moving company! I did a quick last minute yelp search because we were trying to move  by end of month before the rainy weekend. We had a competitor willing to help us move, but Antonio did not dare to hang up and advise if we get a better quote to call him back. I got off the phone searching other movers and called him back just because of the extensive professional customer service Antonio provided. He marked his word and gave us a deal and Adolfo is a hard worker and awesome, what a great combination of guys! My oh my Mr Abner from seventh generation moving and storage is a great place /company to go too when u need a move out or a new move . ..  I didn't expect to work with Abner himself ... he is a great man ,respectful , and fair with low prices I offered my self too help but he denied my request he honestly did everything with his  strong men I need to run arrends that day and he took care of everything . Himself and his guys were. Very careful with my furniture and accessories I had very fragile items to pack and they took care of my items as if it were there's !  I was getting worried because  I had a few extra items. In the truck that I thought was not gonna fit but he said don't worry Jonathan we will take care of it .. and he did  a great job with his men .. they were very careful and got the job done very fast they wrapped all my furniture with blankets and shrink wrap they even dissembled furniture that needed to be dissembled and when we got to our new place they did it like if it was legggos ... 7th Generation is a very professional  group. They arrived in their estimated time.They worked quickly  and quietly  as possible. They only charged us for what was actually used, about bid came in lower than anticipated. Wow, just wow! Such incredible service from Antonio and his team. From the beginning, I requested a quote on Yelp and the company got back to me quickly with detailed information. After comparing prices, we felt Seventh Generation was most competitive as they only charge you for the plastic and bubble wrap you use vs "Unlimited" which can be pricey. The team arrived promptly and got to work, wrapping everything carefully. They made sure to be mindful of the wall and covered the items with rugs or plastic wraps and fo delicate items, both!The team was very patient and worked with us until 1 AM to get everything moved over and completed every request of shifting things until we felt it looked just right. We used Seventh Generation Moving and Storage today to move a house full of furniture to the empty 2 car garage in preparation for installing new flooring throughout our dad's house. Hi Abner, I wanted to express my appreciation for how fast you followed up to my initial request for an estimate and how this was a seamless move for me. You were always in contact with me, even at 6:30 AM! Amazing. Â They made it easy to book through exchanging my information on Yelp and even rescheduling my appointment when I needed it. Antonio and Walter were my movers. Â They were professional and worked incredibly fast! Â They took great care of my furniture and disassembled and assembled my furniture well....something I absolutely hate doing myself. I hiered this company because they offered the best deals and for a great price. Since the first call I got nothing but excellent customer service all the way. Antonio and Walter were the moving crew that helped me in my move. Allways with a smile on there faces and a great sence of humer. They were ON TIME, very POLITE and guided me true all the information I needed to know before starting the move.They packed everything super safely, came prepared with a lot of sheets to cover the furniture, bubble wrap for my tv and electronics, extra boxes just in case for last minute things.They worked great as a team, they were fast and very professional. My Queen bed got disassembled and reassembled in my new apartment. All the furniture was placed just where I wanted and they even made sure to check before they left if I needed anything else or was satisfied with the placement of the furniture. I am so grateful for Seventh Generation Moving and to Antonio, Walter, and Jason in particular. Our movers bailed on us the day of our move and I got laughed off by every other company I called to book same-day movers, as it was a Saturday, the end of the month, and a holiday weekend. But Antonio called me back right away and gave me the exact pricing ahead of time and even a discount on services because just to ease my stress a bit. 35 minutes after our initial conversation, Antonio, Walter, and Jason were at our house and getting us moving. They were incredibly kind, efficient, honest, helpful, and overall amazing. They even came back that Monday to help me move things to storage! Antonio and Felipe were extremely efficient and hard working. They helped us re-arrange my 2 storey house in about 2 hours. Very experienced with furniture assembly, especially IKEA beds.
