A great website not only looks good, but performs well. The speed of loading and the fact it works is important for performance, but the fact that the site allows for users to perform specific actions is one of the most performant factors of the site.

What do you want your site to do? One thing above all else, what is it you want the users to do on your site? If you want them to purchase items, sign up for a service, or just fill out a contact form, what is the one thing?
Describe your creative process.
I stare at my screen until the beginning comes to me. Then as I go through working on what I need, I find out that there are other things I might need. So I start working on those things. In all reality, I don't know how to explain my creative process except as I am staring at a screen all day long.
