I can't even begin to describe how amazing this place is. The 50s style diner is by far the best breakfast spot in Petaluma! Every single aspect is more amazing than the last. They by far have some of the best staff I've ever seen at a restaraunt. Everyone is super friendly and all the servers are super super attentive, quick, and nice. I came here with a party of three. The wait wasn't bad--15 minutes roughly. I like how there are mini menus up front so people can review while they wait. By the time we were seated I knew exactly what I wanted.California Benedict--this was a "diner style" Benedict. My husband said it was a bit greasy so he liked it but didn't love it. He gives it a 7/10.TTs famous French toast--four enormous slices of bread--it didn't taste strongly of sourdough, but that's what it was marketed as. This dish is way too big for one person. I recommend splitting it with someone if you can. It is really good for "diner food," so if you're a French toast aficionado, I highly recommend. It's served with a delicious but rich cream cheese and Marion berry mixture shaped like a scoop (looks like ice cream)!Mimosas-- I got the Grapefruit Blvd., mimosa it was served in a canning jar with pink sugar on the rim. Very delicious, and contains more alcohol that it seems at first sip.Coffee--this was the weak link. I was very disappointed. It was either, old, burnt, or just not made from good beans. More...

Very popular Sax's Joint in Petaluma, so be prepared to wait in line. Great outdoor seating and fun indoor interior -- very 50's vibe. Food portions are large, so be hungry! I ordered cinnamon French toast and 2 scrambled eggs. My husband got French toast too. French toast is very sweet and contains tons sugar. But I loved it. Nothing more satisfying than super sweet French toast treat in the morning with a cup of coffee.Sax's Joint doesn't have any other non dairy options to go with your coffee, so be aware if you have allergies. Sometimes black coffee is fine too. Its a great spot. Great customer service. The only thing I didn't really care for is paying at the front, because the line gets long and it does look crowded waiting to pay, and hard to move around. More...

Excellent customer services and very characteristic dining room with good breakfast and brunch menu! Sax's Joint has many very good reviews on Yelp! and I loved breakfast items. I'm there on Tuesday morning and very lucky to found a street parking right in front of the restaurant. Sax's Joint doesn't have their own parking lot, the restaurant next door has a parking lot but posted a sign on the wall said "no parking for Sax's Joint"! We received a very warm greeting as soon as we walked into the restaurant. Got a table right next to the window. The first thing it was catching on my eyeballs was the special decorations in the dining room and on the tables! The menu is very easy to understand. We all have ordered the delicious breakfast dishes. The foods quality are very good and it is very delicious! Wonderful restaurant with good foods and very friendly staff! I know I'll be back next time when I'm in the area! More...

This place has fabulous food! Definitely try the French toast! Oh and their blueberry sauce ohhh soooo delicious! The prices for their menu are  pretty good. I felt they were reasonable especially for the portions you get. Parking is a bit tricky park on the side of road or at Pinky's place. It is a smaller restaurant and space is limited & can get crowded quickly. I would suggest take out if are in a hurry. Overall incredible place to eat! A must if you are in Petaluma! More...

What a fun diner! We were in the area for a wedding in Sonoma, so on our way back home, we looked up a brunch spot, and since Sax's was highly rated, we dropped in. Friendly staff, quick service, delicious brunch, and a themed restaurant to boot. Loved it!I got the chicken fried chicken salad, and it had all of my favorites: crispy chicken, olives, red onion, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and ranch. YUM! My husband LOVES diners, and he always struggles between chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. He got the chicken fried chicken, and it came with a biscuit. He kinda had the best of both worlds! No complaints from me. I hope Sax's is around for years to come! More...

This is my recent Petaluma discovery. I rate Rosen's 265 North as the best restaurant in town, followed by What A Chicken, and recently Sax's. Traditional continental decor, great bar and steak house atmosphere.. And Jan Rosen, hands down, is the best chef in town. I've followed Jan since she & her sister Michelle, opened Rosen's on 34th in Santa Rosa 20 years ago, and then moved on to the Waterfront Grill 10years ago in Petaluma. More...

Stopped here on the way to Guernville with some friends and it was the perfect place to kick off our trip! We sat on the patio on a lovely October afternoon and the temperature was great. There were a few flys and bees flying around but honestly the food was so freaking good that I kinda understood why they wanted to be so close to it. I ordered a waffle (decided to do it sans fried chicken but I regretted it immediately when the table next to us got it and it looked HUGE and amazing). The waffle was perfectly cooked and the syrup provided was warm and delicious. Also just because I hate the idea of living a long life I had to get the garlic fries which were soooo good. My friend got the French toast with marion berry cream cheese on top and it was truly phenominal....I highly suggest stopping if you're in the area for a quick, cheap, and delicious brunch. More...
