Uyen is awesome. She respond to every e-mail, exceptionally quickly. You'll see that some other wedding planners have limits on e-mail exchanges - which is absolutely retarded for wedding planning. Uyen believes communication is key for planning and responds to everything! She's ultra-organized with a personal binder filled with our plans. We love that she was direct and practical, which is important because anyone can say "spend more than your budget, this is a once in a lifetime experience!" She's been doing this for years so she has all the experience in the LA area with all the vendors. OMG! If you're looking for a wedding planner who's both awesome and super sweet....STOP! You need not to look any further because Uyen is your gal! I live in Houston, Texas and our wedding was southern California. Originally, I did not think I want a wedding planner because I thought it would be fun planning the wedding myself (I was naive).....Anyways, the venue that I wanted required a "day of coordinator" from their list and I happened to be one of those brides who google everyone. :P When I googled Uyen, I found such raving reviews so I thought I would give her a call. Uyen was referred to us by a friend. She spoke so highly of her and everything that she said was spot on. The thing that makes Uyen different from any other wedding planner is that she treats you as a friend and will always have your back on every single wedding planning decision. We first met Uyen a year out from our wedding. We talked about our vision and she provided us a template to follow regarding our budgeting. Choosing our wedding planner was definitely a difficult process for our blended wedding of different cultures. Uyen made us comfortable from the start. She had all the traits we were looking for in a wedding planner. She is extremely organized which was helpful for us as we were planning with our longer engagement. Where do I even begin? I had the wedding of my dreams and I can confidently say that it was made possible by Sassy Girl Weddings & Events. Our experience with Uyen as our full-time wedding planner was nothing short of amazing. I was referred to Uyen through one of my friends, and even prior to meeting her, I knew we had chosen the best out there. She was not only personal and thorough with her emails prior to us hiring her, right away we could tell that she was extremely knowledgeable, open-minded, and honest. Uyen kept us organized and on-schedule throughout the entire planning process. She helped us pace out our planning so we made about one major decision every couple of weeks which helped keep the stress low and finances easy. From our first meeting to sending off our guests, Uyen was an amazing wedding coordinator to work with. We are so grateful for her help during the week of our wedding. Uyen's wonderful personality and working style ensured that our day not only went smoothly, but also that we were able to fully enjoy all the events, the company of our friends and family, and even eat at our reception dinner. Uyen is professional, experienced, organized, creative, detail-oriented, and incredibly easy to communicate and work with. Out of all the purchases/services we made for our July reception, I can firmly say that Uyen's services are, hands down, not only the best purchase, but also the purchase that we couldn't have done without. I had contacted a handful of wedding planners before Uyen and was starting to feel that the whole wedding planning world was fake and impersonal. It wasn't until a friend suggested that I contact Uyen that I felt like the wedding world was all unicorns and warm rainbows.

She saved us money and told us where we could save and where we should spend so that our guest had a memorable time. Industry contacts love her and say that she's such an easy person to work with on hectic wedding days, which is very important because a wedding planner is essentially like a music conductor who has to get everyone on the same page without causing more craziness.

FURTHERMORE, Uyen is such a good person at heart. She is such a genuine and easy person to work with. She's funny, she's professional, she's warm, she's everything you would want in a wedding planner/friend! Uyen from Sassy Girl Weddings & Events was my girl friend's full on wedding coordinator for her wedding last year. I was so impressed with how the wedding turned out and how nice and professional she was in person and through email (when the bridesmaids and I contacted her with a surprise for the bride). She made the couple's personality show throughout the whole wedding. I immediately contacted her a couple days after the wedding and she was so sweet. She even remembered me! haha I was looking for a day-of coordinator for my wedding, which was a year out. Uyen was so helpful and personable from the first email, I knew we had to book with her. You can tell how much experience she has with the industry, other vendors, venues, situations, couples, etc. She made us feel comfortable and at ease with every step of the way. Even though she was our week-of coordinator (not day-of because there is so much to work out before the actual day), I was able to email her any time with any questions and advice. I sent her contracts to look over and we definitely appreciated that experienced professional eye to see any loose ends that would need clarification before we signed. Once it got closer, and Uyen took over, it definitely was a relief. She contacted all vendors with ease (or at least didnt make it seem crazy to us!) and set up meetings, working with many different schedules. Of course, being the bride, there are always worries and anxiety but she made sure everything was under control and organized. I dont know how she does it. Where to start. I think the best reflection was about two weeks after we had our wedding one of us said "I miss having Uyen around" and the other completely agreed. She was responsive, listened to our wants and needs. Tried to keep US within budget. I like to be in control of my parties and events but with Sassy Girl I didn't worry at all. Wow, Where to start. Uyen planned my sister's wedding the year before and my sister Sara's review doesn't do Uyen justice. You can never fully understand the VALUE of a wedding planner until you have to plan a wedding. I had talked to many of my friends who used planners and they were all disappointed on some level. Uyen was off the charts. She responded at ALL hours of the night. I am pretty sure she doesn't sleep. EVER. She was able to take my ideas and translate them into a wedding day and make sure it all made sense. She got me. She got Chris. Uyen of Sassy Girl Weddings was the best wedding planner that we could have hoped for. We booked her based on a recommendation from a coworker.

We knew in general what we wanted for our wedding but weren't sure about the details. She made every effort to honor our requests, while providing suggestions on the details that we didn't think about or honestly know enough about to decide for ourselves. We also took on the epic task of planning our wedding in California from where we live currently on the East Coast. Having her based in southern California with a network of vendors that she could vouch for was essential to having the wedding be as stress-free and predictable as possible.

We interviewed several planners and none of them clicked the same way. The wedding was constructed from scratch and Uyen walked us through each step. Finding a wedding planner was not something we thought we needed, but while looking for a venue and vendors, things started to get complicated. After reading so many positive reviews on Sassy Girl Weddings & Events, I thought that we should meet her. On arrival to the coffee shop for our meeting, she greeted us as if we were close friends.
Uyen started to get to know us and what we wanted, she quickly started writing notes about our preferences and personalities. As we left that meeting, I knew I had to hire her. We were so glad we did! Uyen took over every little detail but always came to me for a final decision first. I never knew how hard a wedding would be to plan and all those tiny details never crossed my mind. Uyen is professional, prompt and has so many resources for vendors. There is a real advantage to having Uyen as a wedding planner. The day of the wedding, we absolutely had fun and had not a worry in the world because she took care of everything. Uyen was an expert of digging deep to learn each of our personalities and incorporate it into our day - she thought of things I didn't even know I wanted! After the wedding, before my groom and I retreated to our hotel - she gave us an adorable wedding gift! My family and I would recommend her to ANYONE planning a wedding! My sister is getting married next year and she chose a date that worked for Uyen because she couldn't imagine working with anyone else!

People always say that the Bride will not be able to eat, sleep, or remember much of her wedding day because there is too much to worry about the day of. I can vouch for a fact that because of Sassy Girl Weddings, I was able to eat, sleep, remember everything AND everyone who attended our celebration. Even my father was impressed and pleased that we had their crew to guide our Guests (420 of them), and till this day on he still talks about how much fun he and my Mother had because all they had to do was mingle with everyone, which is what a wedding should be :) Uyen specifically, got every single detail down since the beginning of planning (10 months in advance). When we did our walkthrough the week before the actual day, she brought up so many things that I had forgotten about, and what a HUGE relief it was to have the pieces of the puzzle finally put together :) The day of the wedding, all that my Husband and I had to do was eat, dance, smile, laugh, take photos, make a speech, and spend time with our guests. Once I got engaged, I knew I had to find a wedding planner because I'm not good with details and dealing with stress. I went online and Google wedding planners in the Los Angeles area. I found several wedding planners, and then I began setting up meetings. Uyen was the third person I spooked with. Even though I had several other wedding planners still lined up to meet with, once I spoke with Uyen my decision was made. She asked if I lived in L.A., because she saw I was calling from a 610 area code. I explained to her that I lived in L.A. but my husband’s business was in Reading, Pennsylvania. She immediately told me that She was from Reading, Pennsylvania and that she grew up there. Once my I flew back to L.A. I met with Uyen, and the wedding preparations were on the way. She was perfect, not to pushy, and she bought me a lemon drop martini. It amazed me how knowledgeable she was about the Los Angels area, since she wasn't from California. From time to time I would become a "bridal bitch" and it never threw her off of her game. Uyen, and her company “Sassy Girl Weddings”, had more than several vendors that you can choose from. She had options ranging from DJs, photographers, florist, and etc. My husband and I really liked how she didn’t sway us to pick one vendor over the other. It was so hard to choose from all the different vendors because they were all first class. To sum Uyen up in a nutshell she was like a breath of fresh air. She came in and helped a lot. She didn’t “take over” my situation, but she definitely held my hand through out the entire wedding process. From picking out the wedding dress, to getting me headache pills when I had too much to drink before the wedding she was always there for us. This review is long overdue but I wanted to make sure I made one that would convey just how thankful I am to Uyen and her team.
Uyen made my Santa Monica wedding everything I hoped it would be. Early on I knew it would be a challenging process as I was based in Ohio and had very little time to be physically present in California during the whole planning process. I knew it was imperative that I pick the RIGHT wedding planner for me to pull this off. And I did.
I chose the full wedding planning service and I felt I got so much more than what I paid for. In the beginning I only had a vague idea of what my wedding theme would be. Uyen was able to tease out specific aspects of how I (really and truly) envisioned my wedding to be. She made really good, creative and relevant suggestions.
Uyen is extremely organized. Everything had a spreadsheet: pros and cons of a specific vendor, expense, etc. I had a ton of choices for the different vendors but she was able to help me decide the most appropriate vendor for my needs.
She is very responsive. If I had a question or concern, I did not have to wait a day to get a reply. She answered within an hour.
Uyen definitely goes the extra mile. For the reception, she made little paper flowers for my dessert buffet. And when I panicked because I realized the evening before the wedding that I forgot to get ribbons for my dessert jars she went and got them herself.
I think obtaining Sassy Girl Weddings & Events is one of the best decisions I made. Our wedding could not have gone as smoothly as it did if it wasn’t for Uyen and her team. Uyen was our year-long coordinator for our Aug 2013 wedding and it was clear from the get-go that she was our perfect match. She was organized, full of ideas, and our personalities/styles were all in sync (food, music, design, etc). The entire process was smooth and she dealt with all the details logistics.

She quickly processed our style/mood board and recommended vendors that fit. Uyen has many existing working relationships, e.g. our awesome Dj Lux of Premiere Events, but she was perfectly willing to branch out and find outside vendors if they worked better. This is how we found our wonderful photographer duo, Llanes Weddings.

Vendor meetings and venue visits were scheduled quickly and efficiently (she even scheduled a 2nd venue trip for us). She accompanied us on every vendor meet-up and we were never left alone. There were never issues with paperwork and payments, even when points-of-contacts changed. The truth is, we ourselves procrastinated a lot and added to her stress (probably)... But Uyen was *always* available and patient, whether it was her past-midnight emails to us or middle-of-the-day calls to vendors. She answered her phone and her emails almost always immediately, despite her own heavy schedule.

Week-of planning was ramped up (as expected) but her day-of planning and staff were exemplary. All of her folks were constantly moving around behind-the-scenes and our interactions were exceedingly pleasant. Uyen was on top of every decision that had to be made (e.g. extending Photobooth time), and every transition from one event to another was always smooth.

Every single one of our wedding guests had only the best things to say about the wedding, the vendors, and how on-schedule everything was beginning to end. Even now, months after, we're still in afterglow from how everything went. Sassy Girl Weddings & Events is simply the BEST wedding planning crew that any bride can ever have for their big day!!! I can't fully describe how detailed, intelligent, amazing, focused, and organized Uyen and her team is! I seriously would have been so lost without Uyen. She was the one who handled most of the logistics and planning, reminding me of many details that I wouldn't have gotten to. And the entire time, her professionalism was always so impressive. She was ALWAYS prompt with her emails and was so thorough with giving me all the information I needed.

Uyen is a REAL wedding coordinator.

I've emceed and DJ'd over 300 weddings in the past ten years and more than half the time, the coordinator either has no clue what they're doing or is so passive that I end of taking over the wedding. Uyen and her staff, including her brother, are experienced and invest a lot of care and passion into their work. They prepare well in advance and pay attention to the details. The wedding I worked with Uyen at Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach was one of the best decorated, well orchestrated, classy, elegant, yet turned into a loud party, weddings I've been a part of.

Uyen and Sassy Girl Weddings and Events is the real deal. AND she's really nice! So many coordinators feel like they have to be a "witch" to be proactive. You can still be nice and get things done. There is seriously not enough paper to write about this woman. Uyen is truly a gem and if you hire her you will quickly see why. I jumped into planning a destination wedding in Los Angeles, CA all the way from New York, and had no idea what I was in for. Despite my love for weddings, I quickly realized I was in over my head, and knew I was going to need a lot of help. I'm confident I will not be the first or last to say this, but can honestly say that everything others before me had said was 100% true. In fact, our bond was so special that I cried when she saw me in my wedding dress on the big day. I actually started my journey with Uyen before I even got engaged. My boyfriend and I had been talking about getting married so I figured I might as well get started (Type A=ME)!! Well, Uyen was super patient with me... Uyen is the best! I cannot even count the number of times when I've said to myself, to my husband, to family and friends, even to strangers on the street, how thankful I was to have Uyen as our wedding planner. We decided early on that we were going to get married in Southern California. But being that we live in New York, we knew that to maintain our sanity we needed a planner. Uyen and I clicked immediately when we first met, but besides being super easy to get along with, here is a list of other reasons she was a great planner:
1) Responsive- from the get go, Uyen was super responsive to all of my emails. When you are a crazy bride and have a random thought jump into your head at some odd hour of the day, it's wonderful to get an answer or feedback right away.
2) Organized- Uyen always knew what was going on when we met with vendors. Me... not so much.
3) Expert- When your time is money and there are a million wedding vendors out there, its crucial to have a planner who knows the business, has the connections, and will share her expertise. Not only did this save us from major headaches, but we never had to question whether or not we were getting a fair deal.

Not only is she a kind, warm, generous and thoughtful person, but she is an incredible wedding planner who goes above and beyond for her clients. The first time I met Uyen, I absolutely knew she was the planner for us. All our guests at the wedding said was that our wedding was the most organized, fun, and gorgeous wedding that they've ever attended!

One thing we especially appreciate is Uyen's responsiveness. Every email was answered in less than 30 minutes, sometimes even within 2 minutes. If I had any questions, Uyen was so quick to reply! She also gives great advice, is open to suggestions and always fun and easy to work with. I don't think there are enough words in any language to express the deep gratitude and affection I have for Uyen but I'll give it a try. From the moment my now husband and I first met her thirteen months before our wedding at a Coffee Bean in Torrance we knew we had our girl. She was funny and full of great ideas about the vision and budget of our wedding. We immediately hired her as our full time coordinator.

Uyen is truly a consummate professional as well as being one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. She's extremely organized and detail-oriented which coming from someone as perfectionist as myself says a lot. She always answered my emails, no matter how crazy they were or at what hour they were sent, in a timely manner. She really made me feel like I was her only client.

She also has an amazing list of vendors so she's really able to match you with the ones who best suit you or the style of your wedding. Her relationship with these vendors is so incredible that in our case it translated into savings with our venue, dj and photo booth as well as some beautiful additional lighting inside our reception that was gratis! I could go on about many other instances of her finesse during the wedding planning process so let's just say she's a miracle worker and she'll have the answer to any questions or concerns you have.

Uyen made my dream wedding come true. Everything came out perfectly which was no small feat considering we had one of the largest setups for a wedding she'd ever seen. The one small problem we had she dealt with so quickly, calmly and graciously that it became a mere hiccup. Our families and ourselves were inundated after the wedding with calls and emails about how it was the most beautiful and fun wedding people had ever been too. She gave me a Platinum Wedding on a more reasonable budget.

I got the week of wedding package with Sassy Girls nine months before my wedding. We decided to get the week of since we had most of our vendors selected before deciding to go with a coordinator. Uyen was always available for all of my questions and her response time was immediate. While I did the negotiations with the vendors, Uyen was still available to look over contracts and make suggestions on how to communicate specifics with the vendors. I am so glad that I hired Uyen as my wedding coordinator! At first I wasn't going to hire one, since I had already picked my venue and photographer and didn't want to spend extra money on wedding planning. As time went by, I realized I really could use an expert opinion and someone to look out for me on the actual wedding day. Uyen came all the way to Torrance to meet with me before I even signed with her. She talked over ideas and gave me tons of valuable information. I could see what a responsible and sharp-minded person she was - just the kind of person I would want handling things for me.

I signed up for a partial planning package, so Uyen helped me with the caterer and florist. I also got her recommendations and advice with most of my other vendors (makeup and hair, DJ, rentals). Sometimes I was uncertain about some vendors, but I trusted Uyen's opinions and it worked out.

Moments I was ESPECIALLY glad I hired Uyen:
1. During the wedding rehearsal, when Uyen ran everything and made all of my husband's family feel comfortable by speaking to them in Vietnamese!
2. During the ceremony, when my mom and mother in law couldn't light the candles, and Uyen stepped in and got the lighter working.

I originally thought that a wedding planner was probably unnecessary. However, my experience with Uyen has changed my mind. Uyen always quickly responded to my questions and she coordinated with all of the service providers (lighting, caterer, restrooms, valet, DJ, etc.) so that we had the details worked out in advance and everyone showed up on time. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe Uyen. She is the BEST. Just the best. From the moment we met Uyen treated me as if I were her only client. Every email (I mean every single one, and we exchanged well over 200) was answered within an hour. I'm not kidding. This woman is incredibly responsive. I love her. She is also insanely creative, funny, organized, easy to work with, kind, generous, understanding, calm...did I mention responsive? =) I hired Uyen as a full package planner. We pretty much knew which location we wanted, but just to humor us Uyen started off by taking us to a few places we hadn't considered. Ultimately we decided to go with the place we had found before we contacted Uyen, and she did an incredible job. My wedding was PERFECT. I literally have no complaints (other than that I didn't get to eat enough but that was my fault). If anything went wrong I do not know about it, which is pretty much the same as nothing going wrong at all. The minute I get my pictures back I'm emailing them all to Uyen so she can put them on her website. People need to see what I'm talking about. Everything was gorgeous. From the flowers, to the linens, the lighting..just gorgeous. Uyen helped me work through so many decisions and was incredibly knowledgable and helpful so that in the end, most of my decisions were easy. She helped me with my budget so that I maximized every dollar I spent. While most people think that a wedding planner may be out of their budget, I have to insist that they contact Uyen. Her prices were incredibly reasonable for the amount of time and effort she spent helping me. I am a full time practicing attorney (the kind that doesn't make as much $$ as you would think!) and I have a 2 hour commute everyday. I had such little time to plan a wedding and Uyen was indespensible. For 10 weeks before my wedding I was engaged in back to back trials and had almost zero time to commit to anything wedding related. Naturally I was at first panicked that I wouldn't be able to attend to any last minute details, but knowing that Uyen was there really helped put me at ease. Any small thing that came my way I just sent to her and she took care of it. I had multiple emails from my guests requesting special meals because of thier allergies and dietary restrictions. Uyen took care of everyone. I am so grateful that she was with me every step of this process. I cannot imagine having done any of it without her. Uyen of Sassy Girl Weddings & Events was purely, supremely AWESOME for our wedding. She was so incredible, in fact, that our friends, after hearing about how great she was, furiously fired their own wedding planners who couldn't compare, yet cost so much more! By the time I found Uyen, I had already interviewed several other planners. They were all nice, but none of them had the drive, creativity, and responsiveness that Uyen had. I still remember a whole year ago, I sent in a request through her website and within 1 hour, she wrote me 5-6 pages of ideas for my wedding with such minimal input. Her ideas were beautiful, classy, and very budget-friendly. She made my long distance wedding planning from Portland a real breeze. She looked over every contract (we used the full service) and even spent hours going over how to fill out one contract with a very particular, strict venue. She is also so well connected that we were able to get discounts and special attention from vendors and even the park rangers at our venue.
Not only is Uyen one of the most resourceful people I know, her attention to detail is unparalleled. Our wedding, as complicated as it was to set up in an estate setting went without a single hitch! She's also a very thoughtful person--she recognized my birthday and other important milesones and would send me little encouraging e-mails to help me from stressing out. At times, I felt that she was more like a bridesmaid than a wedding planner. I was really sad to say goodbye to her at the end of my wedding, actually, and I felt that we had a true friendship by the end of this process.

My wedding was so much better than I dreamed it would be. I'm a super anal person, being in the medical profession, and I felt like I finally met my match. I could count on Uyen because she was on top of everything and there was no detail that would slip through the cracks. She was also very prompt and speedy in her reply emails. I must've emailed her a million times throughout the process and every single one was attended to within a span of 24 hours. I had my dream venue, dream ceremony, and we got to incorporate plenty of our personal touches that our guests really picked up on. My husband and I have already referred our friends to Uyen because we are SO confident in her skills. Uyen referred to us the BEST photographers ever, that not only made us look like we stepped out of a magazine, but had amazing character and charisma.

She deals with other vendors with utmost professionalism and tact. We had a slight issue with the limo driver and she was very quick to give them feedback right away. It's actually hard for me to believe that she was working on other couples' weddings at the same time because I felt that she invested 110% of her time and energy into ours alone!

If I could get married again, which I hope I never will, I would do it all over with Uyen. She was honestly the best wedding planner and I would send every single one of my engaged friends to her. It has taken me awhile to compose my thoughts about my experience Sassy Girl Weddings and the gem that Uyen is and what hasn't already been said about her. Future Brides, we always hear words of wisdom from other brides such as "Just elope...hire a coordinator...hire a videographer." If you are reading this, then you probably already know the merits and necessity of having a day-of-coordinator or wedding planner. But Uyen is so much, so much more. My advice to you: Enjoy and savor the EXPERIENCE of planning your wedding and choose UYEN! It's true what they say--the day goes by so fast, and you're spending a year planning for it. It is being present and having fun during the journey that gets you there that makes it all the more worthwhile and magical, and I couldn't have done it this past year without Uyen. From emailing each other about shoes, figuring out which photographer best suited my fiance and I, and cheering when a contact was closed--I mean, really, who else was going to "get it?"

I had an interesting situation being in the Bay Area, but having my wedding in SoCal, my fiance being abroad, and all my bridesmaids (2 of them being first-timers) and family far away. Uyen was literally the only person who I could rely on 100% for any input or advice about anything. I knew from her first email she would be it--so bubbly and personable, already giving advice on the pros and cons of venues. In person she's a calming force who clearly has it together. I found Uyen from my friend who is also getting married and I am SO VERY HAPPY that I hired her as my day-of wedding coordinator! Even my now hubby who initially claimed we could do everything on our own now whole heartedly agrees that hiring Uyen was the best wedding decision we made. 
I got married 2 weeks ago and we are still getting compliments from family and friends on what a happy and fun event it was and how smoothly everything flowed!
And believe me when I tell you my wedding was very complicated - I am Chinese and my now hubby is Indian, so we had a Chinese-Indian infused wedding with 300 guests and a TON of vendors since our venue only had tables and chairs and nothing else - we had to rent and outsource everything. Uyen is familiar with both Chinese and Indian traditions, and was able to successfully manage our guests and our 10+ vendors!
Uyen is also INCREDIBLY responsive. Uyen is super organized and on top of everything. On top of that, Uyen is so sweet and warm that you can't help but love her!
Uyen knows EVERYTHING about weddings - she even know table cloth sizes by heart and called out things that we would not have thought about on our own (e.g. we hired a caterer but did not realize that we needed to rent chafing dishes, etc.).

My partner and I hired Uyen right off the bat after meeting her. We hit it off right away and we made a very good team. We purchased her full package so she was there every step of the way. Uyen was always available to answer all of our questions and concerns, even our silly ones. She put both of us at ease and made sure that we knew everything that was going on between her and our vendors. She helped negotiate with our vendors so that not only did we maintain our budget, but Uyen actually paid for herself by getting us a venue that usually quotes others triple the price of what we got it for, due to her working relationship with them. I would've been a complete mess if it wasn't for Uyen. She was the ideal planner I was looking for. I have to admit, I was not only a little apprehensive to hire a coordinator but finding one I didn't know personally was a huge challenge. Uyen and her staff were nothing short of a miracle to the success of our wedding. We began our engagement planning well in advance and in fact, have hired a different planner initially. However, the previous planner had different priorities and clearly due to lack of experience in the industry, did not get to deliver as well as we had hoped he would. That said, we knew we had to hire a coordinator that truly knew her/his stuff and could translate all their skills and experience to the biggest day of our lives! We went back to our Catering and Event Director (from our reception venue) and she immediately gave me two names but was insistent that I call Uyen from Sassy Girls first; she had a strong feeling that with the standards my fiance and I have plus our personalities, she thought Uyen can work wonders for us. Wow! What an understatement that was! The first time we spoke was over the phone and we chatted for hours on end (mind you, this was at 11 pm at night!) talking about the wedding and the qualities we are looking for in a coordinator. She most definitely fit the bill! I discussed everything with fiance and just based on me telling him how good she is with detials, he was immediately anxious to meet her in person. After that first meeting, we knew we were going to book her. She picked up the pieces from the last coordinator and made our lives so simple by constantly and genuinely checking in on us and chiming in on emails with other vendors to give her two cents (which just blew us away -- how well she thinks outside the box). She came on board without making us feel like she was taking over. She definitely still left everything up to our final approval and just always stood by for any support that we may need.

Personally, as a bride, the way she appeased me through different facets of my day is something I will always treasure. There were many times I needed to hear from her how things were going behind the scenes; she kept me worry-free the whole day but still keeping me in the loop of things. There was a moment during the evening that we noticed the card box was gone! The last time anyone saw it was during the cocktail hour. I went to her panicking and she told me that it was already put away under the sweetheart table - safe! Before we could even think of anything, she already had it covered. She truly was a huge relief for me.

My fiance, and husband now is beyond words in all the positive things he wants to say about Uyen. He met with her more than I did during the last two weeks bofore the wedding and he told me just how fast she can change hats! One minute she's thinking like a planner, the next minute she's the electrician, the next she was an interior designer, the next she was caterer - you name it, she got it!

My husband and I were very blessed to have met and worked with Uyen. She is such a wonderful person and I say this like she's one of my own friends because that was the first impression we got from the time we met her. She is so gentle and sweet. She had a very welcoming personality and if there was anything I learned about planning my wedding, the comfortability between you and your vendors are one of the most important things to make your planning go as smooth as possible.

She is easy going and makes herself available to you like you're her only client. She gives you the best advise and she made us realize a lot of things we didn't know about the wedding. She helped us through a lot of tough decisions. She is very detailed and doesn't leave anything out. You ask her to explain something, she really helps you understand. She gives her opinion when you ask for it. She's really just there for you.

I was also very pleased that the venue we chose to have our wedding was a venue Uyen was very familiar with. She suggested many things that really worked out well for us including having the chef at the Ebell of Los Angeles customize a special fusion menu for our dinner. She was also very familiar with my hair and make up artists so it was really convenient for me to trust her and the rest of my vendors because they all knew each other professionally.

Working with Uyen of Sassy Girl Weddings was easily one of the most rewarding and enjoyable aspects of the wedding process for us. Hiring a wedding planner is one of those things that sounds like a luxury, or something you do when you're having some huge, expensive, over-the-top wedding. That was definitely not us: planning and making everything ourselves, ON A BUDGET, for a ceremony and reception of around 65 people. Neither of us would consider ourselves a “wedding person”. Nevertheless planning a wedding can be a very difficult, involved and often stressful process, and it's important to have somebody with solid experience and good judgment to back you up. We knew what kind of experience we wanted our guests to have, what ideas worked for us (or didn't) that we'd seen in the blogs, the websites, or our friend's weddings, and we had our own personal touches that we wanted to include. However, we were at a loss as to how to bring it all together and make it all work, and who would be in charge of making sure it all went smoothly on the day itself: who would take care of the myriad details and potential problems while we were busy getting married!

Both of us agree that hiring Uyen was the best spent money in our budget (the only other hires that came close were our wonderful photographer and awesome DJ—except that it was Uyen herself who referred them to us in the first place!). She is not only friendly and a delight to work with, but combines a fun, hip, creative sensibility with consummate professionalism and devotion to her clients. What strikes you when you work with Uyen is that A) She loves what she does, and B) She's very, very good at it. One the one hand she's brimming with creativity and enthusiasm, eager to hear your ideas and contribute her own. On the other hand she's very well-organized, with a solid grip on the details and logistics that go into planning and running an event like this, and she gets back quickly to your phone calls and emails.

We made use of her “Week-of Coordination” Service, i.e. consultation during the planning stages, plus management of the day itself. Such a small-sounding description, but it covered so much! Advising us during the venue selection process, for example, and then walking through our selected venue with us and helping us see the all possibilities, as well as potential problems. Aside from her excellent referrals for any vendors we hadn't yet found, she helped us immensely in our dealings with ALL our vendors. Especially our sometimes-difficult caterer! Uyen remained in the loop and supported us while we went back and forth over pricing and menus with them through email and in person, often taking a direct hand in dealing with them, and really helping us find a solution that worked for everybody. Then she persistently pushed for a tasting so we would know exactly what we were getting. That wasn't even something we'd considered, but it not only identified and headed off additional unforeseen issues, it added immensely to our peace of mind. And when the caterer finally stepped up their efforts in response, the results were beyond our expectations!
