I’ve been to many places here in OBX, and Basnight’s has maybe the best food and service I’ve seen. Their vegetables are insanely good; you can tell they’re grown in the restaurant’s garden. Both types of fish I had- ahi tuna and seared wahoo- had a delicious, understated wood fire flavor, and I generally find that flavor obnoxious. Go here. It’s good for every type of diner. More...

we had an extremely large party tonight 33 adults and 4 children and everything was outstanding from appetizers to salads and too many entrees to list. even though they were out of soft crabs it didn't take long to forget about them when the she crab soup arrived. one of the best meals that our family reunion has ever had in the OBX. and to top off the meals we ordered plenty of desserts that were phenomenal. my niece and her husband are both graduates from the Culinary institute of America in hyde park New York and their opinions both were that food portions were great and served with a wonderful staff. just a outstanding dining experience. This review is for Lone Cedar’s Catering for our wedding. From the day we met at the OBX wedding expo, Maggie and the Lone Cedar catering team were nothing short of amazing. Throughout the entire planning process, Maggie answered all of our questions promptly, was super patient with us during our menu selection process (have you LOOKED at the amount of options they have to customize your big day?!), and was extremely kind and accommodating when we had to make some last minute adjustments to meals. And our families, even weeks after the wedding, are trying to figure out how they can replicate the Parmesan encrusted chicken with cream sauce!! Thank you so very much for being a part of our special day! Even though the main restaurant is further south from where we normally stay in OBX, we definitely plan on going out of our way to eat the amazing food again (perhaps the chicken AND Asian fried shrimp?!) and bring us right back to all the good memories! Have never had a bad meal here. It's worth every penny they ask. I usually get the medium size plate because the big ones always knock me out. Its a TON of food, but it tastes so good you can't stop eating it!Also Riley is the best behind the bar and nothing beats eating on the deck at sunset on a summer night(if you have a party of 4 or less its cozy out there.)
