My back, neck, and shoulders are always knotted and tight to the point of all-day discomfort. Over the years I've gone to a number of places for deep tissue massages -- sometimes they've given me lasting relief, other times they didn't go deep enough to really help. I saw good reviews for Sanity Thai Spa and booked a one-hour session. When I arrived I explained my specific problems and that I've always had deep tissue massage, and a combination of deep tissue and Thai massage was recommended. I had never tried Thai before and was a little hesitant but I decided to let the expert determine the best way to fix my problems so I said ok. And that turned out to be a very good decision!The massage I got was deep and strong yet very precise, and was a mix of several techniques. There was the squeezing/kneading at particular locations, familiar to me from deep tissue massages; there was pressing/rolling along more of a linear path (e.g., starting at my ankle and running all the way up my leg); and there was stretching -- sometimes on its own, and other times coupled with pressing/rolling. Some of these techniques were done dry, some with oil, and some with hot towels. Since Thai massage includes using feet and knees and elbows to apply pressure, at times it felt like there were four or five strong hands working on me at once (even though I knew there was just one small massage therapist). Â At one point I chuckled to myself, thinking that maybe while I was face down a few other therapists snuck in the room to help!When I walked into that room I was very sore and stiff, and by the end of the hour I felt like a blob of Jello! Â Since that initial session, I have come back to Sanity several times and I will continue doing so moving forward.Sanity Thai Spa is kind of hidden downstairs, underneath Main Street Burgers on the corner of Main and Santa Cruz in Los Gatos. It's unlikely you'll ever just walk by and notice it so word of mouth is crucial to their business. And like many other small businesses, they've suffered during the pandemic. I have been coming to Sanity Thai Spa for several years for therapeutic relief of tight muscles and limited flexibility, and I have never been disappointed. Â With a combination of targeted deep-tissue massage and Thai-style stretching, I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. We did a couples massage when we went on our mini vacation in October. They were great. Make sure you're vocal if you  are sensitive or don't like the touch. After your massage make sure you wrap up and stay warm, especially if you have them use the hot stones on you. Be ready to feel so sleepy and relaxed afterwards. Hands down the best massage anywhere! We have had massages in many places and this place we drive 40 minutes for and I would over and over. Many places ask what kind of massage you would like and only change the pressure. This is an art and a technique. I just finished my first Thai massage at Sanity Thai Spa and it was hands down the best massage I've had in a very long time. I'm a spa aficionado and I've been to many different spas in the area for massage. I have had many massages to relieve my discomfort from previous athletic injuries. Â My friend said I needed to try a Thai massage. Â After my first visit with Claudia I purchased a package. Â This is more than a feel good massage! Â The best description I can give is this felt like a medical treatment. Â OMG, Claudia asked about my concerns and was a workhorse on my shoulder. Â She kept working and working those knots out. Â I've had massages from bigger men at different establishments and assumed they gave stronger more powerful massages. Â I was so wrong! Â These gals are super-hero strong and know just what your aching body needs. Â I am so impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness, and service here. What a hidden germ in downtown Los Gatos. The spa is located in a nice area which all the services are around. I booked the couple massage for me and my fiance. While I had my full body massage, he had a Thai massage. I felt very relaxing, my muscle tension had been reduced, joint mobility and flexibility increased. The technician-Loan was an expert on what she was doing. This is the second time I have come back to this spa. My hubby also enjoyed his massage though he wished the lady could do little stronger. Very relaxing experience. When checking in they asked if there were any area i would like to focus on, and any surgeries injuries to avoid. I've been coming here monthly for the last several years. The entire business is super professionally run. I always get a mix of targeted deep tissue mixed with stretching and Swedish. I had a massage Saturday which may have been my best ever. This is still by far the best massage in the Southbay Not only is the owner a massage whisperer of uncanny and unparalleled skills (like she has mini brains in her fingers), but she has started to build a fantastic bench of massage therapists.  They have their go to massages which is usually a combination of Swedish and Thai (some stretching), but  what I like best is that they all listen carefully to their customers and make changes based on their customer's input.  Still an A+, and their prices have remained reasonable. I'm not a big yelper, and doing it more than once is unlikely for me, unless of course it's called for. For one and a half year because of the pandemic I have not been able to do one of my favorite physical therapies which is getting a massage. I learned about Sanity Thai Spa through some research pre-Covid and the experience was superb. Three weeks ago for the first time since the pandemic I went to the relocated Sanity Spa in downtown Los Gatos. The place is beautifully done, with care, taste, and love. I met Sarah the owner for the first time in person, and it all made sense as to why this place is so wonderful as well as the therapist who work there. Off the charts good. Being a man of, ahem, a certain age, but still athletically inclined I'm constantly getting aches, pains and muscle pulls. I love this place!! Ok, I admit I have only been once but I have an upcoming appointment and I can't wait. The therapist I had last time was experienced and very skilled at giving deep tissue massages. I keep looking for places to 'treat myself' at fancier spas in expensive hotels. Extremely clean and professional, and gives the best massages! Wife and I had a couples massage, and both agreed it was the best massage we had ever had! This was my first Thai massage, and at the beginning I was a little surprised when the therapist got up on the massage table as well, but they walked on my back and it felt amazing.
