Nice selection of sandwiches, good accoutrements and friendly atmosphere. So happy to know they carry Boar's Head now! The sandwiches are really good and all the salads and pastries are homemade. Ronda and Albert are the owners and they are so nice, there everyday . The sandwich Mill is hands down one of my favorite sandwich shops in San Jose.  It's close to work and the owners and employees are nothing but friendly and personable.  Nothing fancy about this place but there sandwiches are legit!  My go to is the breakfast sandwich. I've been coming to this place for over 20 years. Never had a bad meal here. Their lasagna and raviolis are both excellent and tasty with a very zesty meat sauce.  Portions are generous and prices are good. Sandwich wise I like their roast beef the best. Its a bit of a whole in the wall but this place is all about the food. Counter top ordering, so you get your food fast usually in 5-10 minutes even when it gets busy at lunch.  They also do catering at very reasonable rates. More...

I'm not really a sandwich girl in fact the only sandwich I eat are my own grilled cheeses when I'm lazy. But, recently I happened to get a huge craving for a yummy sandwich I was pretty indecisive of what I wanted but I remembered this place because I pass by it almost daily because its right in front of the gym I go to. So on a Friday I looked up the menu and put in an order(through yelp on line very convenient) for a hot club sandwich on a french roll. BEST IDEA EVERRRRR as I said I usually don't do sandwiches but this one was amazing every bight had tons of flavor and the bread was amazzzing they even take the time to spread the avocado out which makes it that much easier to eat.I cant wait to try their lasagna! Awesome tucked away deli. Small mom and pop shop. Super friendly staff! I had a turkey and cheese sandwich which was basic but the way I like it. It's been a long while since I've been here. The sandwiches are always fresh. I ordered a large since it was a $1.00/$1. 25 more. OMGoodness it's humungous. A small was definitely the way to go. But if there are two of you, the large would be the perfect amount to share.I get the usual, turkey, avocado and provolone cheese and add bacon. It comes on a french roll with the normal 'sandwich' trimmings. The only thing that would make it tastier are black olives and alfalfa sprouts.  But I know how sprouts are made and even grocery stores are staying away from them If you're in the Almaden area, give them a try. Best vegetarian sandwich I've ever had. The French roll is a 10/10. Definitely recommend ordering the #19. They've been in business for 37 years and the owners still make the sandwiches to order. So so good!  We got the hot pastrami sandwich and the beef/ajus sandwich. Melt in your mouth good. Reminds me of the famous Tony Luke's. And they are the real deal too. I cannot say enough about the Sandwich Mill. I order at minimum three times a week from the Sandwich Mill.  Once you have eaten their roasted turkey sandwich, you cannot eat regular turkey sandwiches. I am totally addicted. When you order this sandwich be sure and request cranberry sauce on the side.  My husband loves their hot roast beef sandwiches. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Their minestrone soup is just like soup an Italian Nana would make. Once you have eaten at Sandwich Mill,  you will never go to Togo's or any other franchise sandwich shop again. No other sandwich shop can compare to the Sandwich Mill. It is like going back to your grandmother's home for lunch. They use quality ingredients and roast their own roast beef and turkeys. Their soups, meatballs, and sauces are prepared in-house. Their meatballs are amazing. They are so tender and flavorful.  Their salads are really good. This gem of a place is one of my new favorite sandwich shops! I went to Bills Cafe for some late breakfast and the line of course was ridiculous, so we looked outside and saw the sign "lasagna" so why not check it out? !?! Go in and realized it's a small deli! Ok, you guys, have you had a pastrami sandwich from the Sandwich Mill vs. one from Subway? The Subway one is full of fat, substandard, and bad quality, and the one from the Sandwich Mill is awesome quality, very, very low fat! Sandwich Mill is the real deal.
