Worth traveling to (14 hour drive for me). Bring a water bottle, hydration is key. Make time to get those cookies, Sweet Martha's is where it's at. Super lit. Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen/chapstick. Bring a jacket, it's going to get chilly the later it gets. No one wants to miss their favorite set because they had to run to the restroom, but if you pass out because you're dehydrated, you're gonna miss it . Drink lots of water. Eat before you go, get something later in the night. Download the soundset app and plan out a schedule. At some point,TAKE A BREAK! Find some shade and take 15 minutes to rest up. Its gonna be a long day, don't go to hard to fast. Take it slow and enjoy the show. ***As far as the Festival as a whole, it was amazing. I think every artist except lil uzi vert showed up. At least 3 areas where you could get free water, tons of food options, lots of merch. The sound quality was amazing. Cops/security did a great job of keeping the peace and respecting people's space. EMS had their hands full like usual but were quick with response to situations. (lot of people passing out) 10/10 would RECOMMEND. More...

As a first time attendee but a huge hiphop/rap fan of the music and culture. I have to say that Soundset 2018 far surpassed my expectations. They did a really good job displaying this culture in the experience. We had so much fun! I was worried with the high heat today (98 degrees) and reading bad reviews of inconvenience as well as problems with underage drinking in the past years; I thought today spelled a recipe for disaster. Surprisingly, we found it easy to stay hydrated for FREE! EMS was busy today but while we were near their tent for awhile I noticed it was nothing crazy bad. I believe there was only one cancelation (brockhampton) but he was quickly replaced by Brother Ali. I believe the Migos did get cut short off stage but it seemed as though THEY were late to the set (just like last night at Stir Cove) so, can't be mad at Soundset. As far as VIP goes I was a general admissions attendee. I have to admit I even said to myself during the event that I felt bad for VIP because they did not seem to be receiving a VIP treatment (seating and hydration). I went to see Lauryn hill !!! I can't even complain about artists cancelling or no showing because there were so many other talented artists there . but I went for the experience , the people, the excitement , being with my group of friends , enjoying ourselves . thats what its all about . we traveled from Wisconsin and this is my second soundset , and I think the only thing I complained about was having to walk too far to the bathrooms.. Other than that , the graffiti artists were amazing, Lauryn hill was amazing, as always . not a lot of people can say they've gotten the opportunity to see her live , and travis Scott put on a hell of a show . people are always going to complain about something . why can't we just be grateful for the experience ! Only missed a couple Sound Sets and minus the few cancellations I think it was an amazing show. I heard a lot of complaints about that, my opinion is there was plenty of artist who made the show worth every penny. Travis Scott was amazing, Dj Qbert, other legends, and RSE artists. To me it isn't just about who's preforming, it's about spending time with those who share a love of hip-hop culture. Plus experiencing all the elements in one location. I pray Slug was joking when he said it was the last one. We used to travel to Cincinnati, OH every year for Scribble Jam. That was awesome but Sound Set is on another level!
