Giving 4 stars (instead of 3) because I understand from my table-mates that things usually are better than our experience on the night I'm reviewing (the only time I've been there). Unfortunately, on the night we visited, service was completely discombobulated. More...

For the first time I had salad of a spring mix that was so fresh the leaves nearly melted in my mouth with the most delicate citrusy dressing that was just right. Our son’s burger took a long time so we had to wait quite a bit and he was very hungry but they gave us a spring salad to make up for it. Unfortunately our son doesn’t touch salads so it didn’t make the delay less painful for him. Chocolate chip cookie was one of the best I have had in a while. Love locally sourced farm to table spots and this place was good, albeit pricey. No table service. Pay and self seat. More...

Found this place by chance and absolutely loved it! Farm fresh food and friendly service! I don't remember the last time I was blown away by a salad! I got the burger and my boyfriend got the BLT that came with a side salad and the tomatoes were the best we've ever had. One of the guys behind the counter even gave us extra tomatoes for snacking! The burger was great, not too heavy and I really liked the pickles. Fries were thick cut and we liked those too. I got an Aperol spritz and my boyfriend got the IPA, which we both enjoyed. If you're in Concord make sure to stop by! More...

You had me at biscuit. A BLT with very fancy lettuce and tomato, not to mention the exquisite bacon... on a biscuit sent from heaven, with the slightest drizzle of the most mild, inoffensive mustard I have ever tasted. Cheers!

This was a delightful little find. Combination micro brewery and farm to table restaurant. Not a big place but everything was very good. We started with soft shell crab with salad and Maine mussels. The crab was fantastic and the salad was a nice complement, with an unusually large head of asparagus (which I would have expected to be tough- but was delicate and delicious). The mussels and broth were seafood sweet, and makes you wish for a loaf of bread and a bigger belly. For entrees, I had deep dive scallops which were seared to perfection, preserving both the flavor and tenderness of the meat, over green beans. My partner had the strawberry pistachio salad with a deep fried goat cheese, which made for a filling dinner. The craft brews were interesting and satisfying. We tried 5 between us, at the suggestions of our waitress, who was knowledgeable and which worked well. Looking forward to coming back. More...

Go here for DINNER! I had only been for lunch which I always like, but dinner was a great experience. We went on a Thursday night and sat at the bar. I strongly suggest sitting at the bar to one serve everything going on in the open kitchen. The food is farm to table so there are fresh herbs growing, Fresh veggies being choppedand you can see the preparation of meals and plating. All the chefs treated their food like a piece of art. The meals were creative and presented beautifully. As lovely as everything was, there was nothing pretentious about the scene. Simply chefs taking care in everything they were doing.I loved the burrata appetizer and my friend didn't stop raving about the mussels (I thought the broth was delicious!)The chef conversed with us periodically and brought over things for us to taste. I had the sunflower pesto which I absolutely loved and I'm a big pesto critic! My friend had a fish dish with quinoa which he raves about. For some reason, the word has not spread how good dinner at Saltbox is. What a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go again. More...

Farm to table concept! If your looking for a restraunt where you can get a flight of beer and take home a dozen farm fresh eggs this is the place for you. Ordered the double stack burger. Cooked as I requested well done, excellent burger. But... The ketchup is what will keep you coming back. Homemade with enough ingredients to keep you guessing. There is also a refrigerator filled with fresh, a little different, take out choices. I grabbed the tomato slices with mozzarella cheese and fresh herbs. Very tasty! The only miss was the double choclate cookie...too much salt, I know its the new thing but did't care for the salt. More...

This place was awesome all around. The food is the primary thing of course, and it was all very flavorful and tasted extremely fresh and light, while still providing a good, full meal. The food comes from their farm also in town, and it is apparent from the food quality. Beyond that, the space is very homey and light, and the staff was extremely kind and friendly. Also, I didn't know this until I got there, but they even brew their own beer (though it wasn't currently being brewed when I went, so they were featuring another local brewery)! More...

This is a neat little spot in West Concord. My wife and I had dinner there and enjoyed it. The food was great, beer was good, and the service left a little to be desired. We shared the seared ahi first, really a fantastic dish. Every element on the plate was perfect. Then I had a smoked shrimp special--yum--and my wife had the roasted eggplant. We greatly enjoyed both. We tried the IPA and a maple stout. Both smelled amazing; neither really lived up to the aroma but both were certainly drinkable. Our waitress seemed to forget about us several times. We could see her wandering around it talking to other staff members while we waited for her to run our credit card, for example. Overall, the food was so good that I'd go back regardless of the service (and I suspect our waitress was very new so maybe our experience wasn't typical). More...

We cannot speak highly enough about Saltbox. Everything was outstanding!

Food: From the cocktail hour spread, to fresh salad, 3 seasonal entrée options to the brunch buffet the following morning; everything was both flavorful and elegant. We had over 200 guests at our backyard wedding on a hot summer weekend, but every detail was perfect.

Many of our guests reached out to us to ask about our caterers because they said it was the best wedding food they ever had! (Of course we thought so too, but we were biased).

Drinks: We had a signature drink that was so popular, we ran out of gin. We had two Saltbox Brewery beers on tap that people loved. The following morning we had a beautiful bloody Mary bar.

The Team: It was a pleasure working with Ben and Megan. Everything was coordinated and seamless; how they managed to serve over 200 people at the exact same time with no mistakes…I have no idea. (They are also wonderful at accommodating food allergies, intolerances, preferences etc). The entire staff was professional and energetic.

Our tasting: One of the best parts of wedding planning. We went to dinner at Saltbox Farm and had the opportunity to sample our cocktail hour food, entrees and brunch food. Ben and Megan were interested in our feedback and everything was so personalized; it wasn’t as if we had a few options to select from a list.

Saltbox is an extremely talented, high quality farm to table caterer. If that’s what you’re looking for, I cannot think of a better group for your event.

Saltbox Team: Thank you for all that you do!

I can't believe this place is averaging 3.5 stars on yelp.  I feel like I can no longer rely on Yelp to accurately reflect the calibre of the restaurants we choose.  Yes, prices here are high, but that is because the quality of the food is excellent.  Personal favorites are their egg sandwiches and frittatas for breakfast, double chocolate cookies and scones for baked goods, and the burrata, salads, and soups are always soooo good for lunch.  The only thing I'll admit is that the prepared items in the case can be a little hit or miss. My husband and I just had a light dinner here last night paired with their beer (brewed on site), and that was delicious as well.  I've also done two of the cooking classes at their farm and have really enjoyed those - and it seems like a good value considering you get a multi-course dinner at the end of the class.  One request - please start making some mixed berry scones!! Food & beer were great, but service was subpar. Gentleman working the register gave wrong specials for the day - Udon Soup (ahead by one day - didn’t know how to pronounce quite a number of items in the special) and he made no effort to correct the mistake (perhaps unaware? ). Another employee jumped in and tried to “salvage” the situation for us after receiving bowls of cream of mushroom soup and pumpkin bisque. While we still enjoyed our meal, it was not what we ordered nor wanted. More...
