Was craving some Indian soul food after a long morning hike at around 11 AM, Salt & Pepper was the only restaurant in the vicinity that was open so we decided to give it a shot. Frok the humble exterior, we were not expecting too much out of this restaurant...just a quick meal to satiate our test buds. But as soon as we stepped inside we were pleasantly surprised with clean and classy decor and courteous staff that greeted us. Given that we went at 11 AM on a Saturday, we were the only ones there but that meant we had the full attention of the staff. They helped us decide on what to have by recommending some dishes (we loved the samosa chat, veg pakoras and the mali kofta) We cant wait to go back! More...

Really amazing food. We have dined in as well as picked up and it's incredible every time. The flavor and complexity or the sauce in each bite is *chef kiss*. I love Indian cuisine and while this place is on the pricey side the quality of the meat, flavor profile of the food, and portion sizes make it worth the price. The decor if you're dining in is really nice too. A pleasant upscale ambience, not too big which I like and good service. We've had the dinner for two while dining in which features a selection of chicken tikka, the spinach dish with lamb, some other things to try, and a dessert. It was awesome! We had enough leftovers for another dinner for two haha and everything was delicious as well. Then we got the lamb Rogan josh and chicken tikka to go, which were bomb as well. The naan is good too. I would definitely recommend. I wish I had pictures! Also we got medium spicy for the lamb and it had plenty of kick. It was actually spicy, but perfect for us. Just be aware. If you can't handle spice get mild. I can and it was perfect! Wish I had pictures but we devoured our food. More...

Visited this smallish restaurant w a group of friends, one of which has been frequenting this establishment for quite some time and raves about the food. It is clean and has a minimalist atmosphere with a contemporary Indian design about the place. If you need space head to the back room, Lots of windows and space in the back room.Food was authentic and quite tasty. There were many choices on the menu and quite a few dishes l wasn't familiar with but if you ask the waiter they will happily explain what kind of ingredients are in any dish that you might inquire about. My choice was Butter Chicken and it was very flavorful! It comes w basmati rice and the dish is not too spicy, but they do ask how spicy would you like your dish. Mild is just that w just a small bit of heat to make each dish interesting but not uncomfortable to eat. Medium is plenty spicy l think and hot is woo! Prepare for an eye opener if you are a novice! They have lamb, chicken, and l think l saw goat on menu as well. There are many vegetarian dishes as well.Menu has a good variety to appeal to most folks. So if you are craving Indian food, as they say, come for curry in a hurry! More...

The food is ok. The problem is the service. The owner is not friendly, comes in without a smile and does not seem appreciative of our patronage. We are a party of 5, we order appetizers, fish and vegetable Pakora. The sauce is a little too hot for my friend, so she ask the owner for a little bit of yogurt to cool down the spice and the owner tells her she does not have any. So my friend stays there drinking water until she felt better. Nobody comes to refill our drinks and after 40 min of us watching the 3 tables that came after us receiving their dinner, we ask the owner where is our food. She rushes to the computer and 10 min later the food starts coming. And SURPRISINGLY some of the dishes have yogurt that she could've graciously brought at an earlier stage to relieve my friend. The food came scattered and they ended up forgetting my friend's rice side. At any moment anyone smiled and the impression that we got is that they were all miserable and did not want us there. I am sorry but there are other Indian restaurants and I am not coming back. WARNING  If you scan the QR code on the table and expect a price be ready for a price increase for a higher amount when you receive your check. More...

During a trip to N. Carolina, my companions wanted to eat some Indian food. I was thrilled that they wanted to, and used Yelp to find the place. The name of the restaurant doesn't really relate with anything Desi in my opinion and the decor was not what I expected. The place was very clean though and had an open feel to it. We all opted for Thalies. Both non-veg and veg versions. It was a great way for them to have a little of everything. The Thali is quite high in price I thought. I was really surprised by the diversity of groups that were there eating! Really made me happy! One thing that was a disappointment was the non-veg Thali for 2, says it comes with shrimp which we did not get. I felt a bit bamboozled. They need to change the menu as it is misleading. I will say we really enjoyed the food so we came back a second time during the week. We ordered a couple of curries and some bread. Rice was already included. The first naan did not come out as fresh as the second. Overall it was very tasty and enjoyed the food. More...

The Mexican waitress was very nice and very professional!  And the other Indian girl who has been there since the beginning smiles , but definitely is not glad to see us ! I will NOT be returning because of the poor attitude and many of the best things in the menu were unavailable, garlic naan , almost ALL the naans were not available and they brought us an appetizer we didn't order , but didn't offer to remove it from the bill. Worst experience with this restaurant ever! My Daughter says this is her favorite Indian restaurant. She had a $50 check given to her last year to use on Indian food. I paid all $ after that because it was so important to her.She ordered Butter Chicken and a naan. I knew she wanted some chutneys to go with it and "Lets be honestI wanted them as well."Our food finally arrived and it was missing the napkins and silverware that we ordered. It was also missing the extra sauce I ordered for my Vindaloo chicken. I did not order my food to be spicy. I like spicy . However she couldn't eat her food or mine because of the additional spice. Her birthday gift wasted on such a terrible order. We have both ordered from here before and had excellent food. This was a huge waste of $ and neither of us are eating the rest of the food. So, We were also disappointed in the mint chutney sauce. Not enough mint. We agreed it tasted more of a yogurt with a hint of dill. Naans were even hard to choose which naan was hers or mine. She ordered plain and I ordered onion. Onion was in all the naan.Mango chutney and Tamarind are the only good things that came from this order that was delivered. More...

If you're ordering delivery, don't order from here. They're HORRIBLE to drivers that come in to pick up orders. They're beyond rude to them, push their orders to the back of the que if it gets the slightest bit busy, and will blatantly ignore you to your lface. I said "Excuse me" 4 times in an attempt to check on an order I had arrived to pick up 15 mins prior. Mind you, I could hear her talking as she ended her phone call when I walked up to the hostess stand. But 4 times of my saying, "Excuse me" rather loudly somehow couldn't be heard. Frustrated at obviously being ignored, I followed a bit louder with, "I know you hear me". At that moment, she magically got her hearing back. This and other rudeness has been the experience 2 of the 3 times I've accepted trips for them. There was a different young lady there the other time who was nowhere near as rude, but mostly bc she immediately disappeared into the back, telling me she was going to check on the order and I didn't see her again. The cook brought me the food instead. I won't pick up from here anymore between this and the ridiculous wait for drivers to get their orders. And I know of other decent drivers who won't accept them, either. If this place keeps it up, customers are gonna be stuck with all the drivers who don't care about when or how their order arrives. There were several tables that were sat, served , paid and left before we received ours.  Over 45 minutes.  My husband went up to the hostess several times and they seemed like they were not fazed and could not care.  After the extra 45 minute wait the only thing offered was a $15 coupon for dine in only.  Can't imagine ever going back. I'm stuck in quarantine with COVID, so I ordered delivery. I've lost my sense of smell entirely and a lot of flavors are dulled, so I hoped Indian food might have enough flavor to break through. This did not disappoint. I ordered chicken tikka masala and naan. Last time I ordered takeout here, what I got was too mild; I suspect they tone down spice for takeout orders because there's no telling who's on the other end of the order. This time, I added a note that I wanted medium spice level. The tikka masala was more spiced than last time, and they included extra spice for me to add if I wanted it. The naan is great, as always. Indian will probably be my go-to until I get enough taste and smell back to enjoy more subtle flavors, and this restaurant is a good option. More...

Salt & Pepper is one of our favorite High Point restaurants. I wish I could give separate ratings for food and service. We ordered the Veg Platter for 2 for the first time. The food was 5 stars all the way. The 3 included curries were some of the best I have ever had at an Indian restaurant. Incredible taste and quite a bit of heat, but just right for us. I would expect, though, that at a cost of $47 it would include small containers of chutneys and raita. We also ordered the Veggie Platter appetizer, which at $9 only consists of 3 small morsels. All were absolutely delicious, albeit a little pricey. However, the service at Salt & Pepper has been very slow the last 2 times we ordered from there. Last night we ordered delivery off of DoorDash. It is true that we selected the "no hurry" option which was supposed to deliver our food in about 45 minutes. However, we ordered at 5:20 pm and our food did not arrive until 6:45 pm. The restaurant is less than 5 minutes from our apartment. That is not acceptable. I felt sorry for the DoorDasher who waited at the restaurant for almost an hour. More...

My favorite Indian restaurant the Triad. The food is excellent  and a nice touch are the poppadoms they bring to start dinner. ..a cracker like bread with an excellent chutney/sauce. Today we had the chicken Madras  (my favorite) , vindaloo chicken. Butter chicken, garlic naan and Dahi Puri...a small appetizer designed to be eaten in one bite. The Dahi was a bit surprising as it is cool in the center and has a mix of flavors from sweet to spicy. They are small shells with chick peas, yogurt and chutney.  All of the chicken dishes were good but my favorite is the Madras chicken...a dark red sauce with a complex spice flavor and a hint of lemon. Oh man, this place was a let down in terms of food and service. Decor / interior - was very nice, contemporary and probably by far leading in design for these other regular restaurants in the Triad I have seen. We noticed they get busy very quickly, so booking in advance is a must. Their seating is very well spaced out and half of their staff are sporting masks and the other half not. They have a very nice bar area / seating area. As for the service, firstly it was very quick in terms of taking our order. In getting it to us? Very slow. In getting it correct? Not great either. We were a table of 8 people, so we ordered quite a lot off the menu. From the vegetable platter, to the chilli paneer and a chicken appetiser. All mediocre at best. The chilli paneer had the most rubber tasting batter coating over it. Same goes for the main of the chicken 65. Probably the worst tasting Indian dish I have had in my life, and to be honest I won't be ordering this again in the future due to this bad experience. The coating was so terrible, and the chicken itself was brown / overly chewy and could tell it was not good quality chicken used. As for the naan's we ordered most of them from the menu: paneer naan - this was all burnt at the bottom and inedible, peshwari naan - not authentic tasting and actually not very good either, garlic naan - which came after the meal was finished as they forgot. Honestly, not the best service, forgetting items / not bringing them till the dinner was over / not understanding basic requests like straws. Not happy on this front, also a lot of attitude from one of the waiting staff, despite our politeness and constant kindness. Side note: we did not complain at all about the bad experience, mainly due to having our own little one to look after and pay attention to, and tipped well. The only salvageable part of the meal was the saag / lamb, which was decent and what we mainly ate to survive that night, and the Rogni naan. Overall - skip this place for good food. So many better options out there for Indian food, like Kasturi / Curryfic / Curry & Noodle / Nawaab Indian Cuisine for example! More...
