When I moved to Austin I didnt have anyone to do my hair and I came across the Salon X Change by chance while while doing some good searching. Walked in on day one and the energy was on point! The owner clearly puts heart and soul in this place and the ladies on her team echo that just as well. I have the pleasure of getting my dreads done by Kiesha. The lady who started my dreads had me looking rough hahaha. Like many others that have reviewed Salon X Change I too am new to Austin. I was on the search for a new salon that catered to African American hair and came across Salon X Change's yelp page. I decided to book an appointment based on the reviews I read. I am pleased to say that they deserve every positive review! I was greeted upon arrival by Natasha (who I later found out was the owner). She was super sweet and helpful. My appointment was with Setorra. I had arrived early and as such she was with another client. Natasha took it upon herself to get my color processing while Setorra was wrapping up her prior client, which cut down the service time. Setorra did such a phenomenal job with my silk press. Love love love this salon !!!! I’m natural and went in for a wash n style and trim w a silk press my stylist did a bomb job on that, than a week later me and my sister went in for sew ins mind you it was completely last minute they squeezed us both in washed us up and gave us deep conditioning treatments under the dryer so that our natural leave out would be protected Keisha did my sew in and Nancy did my sisters they both did a bomb a$$ job I loved my stylist and loved the owner I’m definitely coming back this was the best experience I had at a salon in a long time!

If I could only use one word to describe this salon and the goddesses that make the magic happen, it would be GORGEOUS! Warm, incredibly friendly/funny/beautiful ladies- atmosphere is inviting, and I have never seen hands that could braid so fast with such precision. I had the honor of having my hair sectioned off for dreadlocks by Bird- fast, painless and every right rubber band felt like a hug...a very firm hug. It is obvious that every one of these beautiful technicians/artists sincerely enjoy what they do. During my visit, which was 2 hours from time of arrival, several children were there, and the salon staff were patient, engaging, and went out of their way to make the children feel comfortable. Prices are very, very reasonable and the service was impeccable. Everyone receive assistance with taking a gorgeous selfies before leaving the salon...except me, I still look like a sprinkler. So I haven't had my hair braided in a good while by somebody who's that professional don't get me wrong I like the people who have braids in my hair but going to the salon and getting the full treatment made me feel like I was back in my 20s I think I'm so much the girl was very nice the atmosphere was wonderful I recommend it everybody go and check it out whether you want a perm oppress some braids manicure pedicure Etc and if Austin is not anywhere close to you to take the trip anyway just for this Salon it's worth it

I’ve always gotten my hair done by my grandmother but she lives 3 hours away so i had to step out and do some searching around for another hair stylist. I have a short pixie cut and needed a cut down and taper. I booked @ SalonXChange and came in when they opened at 9 and Setorra was my stylist. She did an amazing job and gave me exactly what i wanted. The atmosphere of the salon was very comforting and everyone speaks to you and makes you feel very welcome. I had an amazing experience with my recent visit to The salon. I had my appointment with Valerie and was seen quickly upon arrival. There was no extreme wait time. I was not advised to bring my own hair before the appoint and was charged $5 a pack additional on top of the style. I've finally found the one! Since I moved to TX, I've been searching for a salon that can tackle my natural hair. No need to look any further! Everything from getting me in the same day I called, to having Ms. Natasha give me the best shampoo, then OMG Ms. Keisha's silkpress, was an amazing experience. I am very great full for their help. They worked with the other party's terrible insurance. The insurance gave me a very hard time but Romeo talked to them. I had a silk press done by Klenisha and it was wonderful! I have naturally curly hair and prefer to wear it straight, she provided exactly what I wanted. She also gave me a trim to get rid of dead ends and I was worried about a scissor happy stylist, but she wasn’t that :) She did an excellent job and was very easy to work with.
