I've been on the search for a nearby hair salon for months. I was tired of driving to a salon far away from where I live and then driving to another salon for a hair cut. I was on the hunt for a salon that I can get both my color and cut done at one place. I was so happy to finally find this salon! I found Alyssa on Instagram and booked her right away! I got the best haircut I've ever had from Laura! From the moment I walked in the door, I had a great experience. Everything was beautiful and clean, the receptionist was super friendly, and they gave me some coffee while I waited (but it was a very short wait, they were on time for my appointment). Laura gave me a cut that was exactly what I asked for. I've spent two years looking for someone who could give me this cut, Â and she was the first one to really listen and make it happen. I also have a sensitive scalp, and she was very gentle and careful. I'm so glad I found Laura and Salon True... can't wait to come back! The experience was great, and my cut is amazing! It's been my experience that it can be really difficult finding a great stylist, but my research paid off & the front desk girl was a huge help when I called. Â She asked me a few questions and then suggested Abdon would be a good fit for me. Making an appointment was also easy. I happened upon this Salon while walking down Ventura one afternoon. Miraculously they found someone who could do my hair within the hour. The receptionist was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I was lucky enough to receive a haircut from Rick! He's fantastic at what he does, explains exactly what he's doing as he's cutting it and makes absolutely sure you're getting what you want. I used to go to Salon True years ago. Then I moved to a different area and colorist (who has since retired). After moving back to this area, I contacted Salon True and was referred to Kayla. I've seen her a few times and she's amazing. Same experience I had with colorists I've seen for 5+ years. The first time, she matched my previous colorists' details 100% even though I only showed her a mere one photo of the color. When I needed a trim, I asked her to trim off "the minimal amount" and she did that 100% and didn't over-trim. After she blow-dries, I walk out with Victoria's Secret model hair. I recently moved here from NY and had been doing some research, looking for a local colorist with particular expertise with blonde hair, highlights and balayage. I got it right on the first try, Elia is fantastic, a true professional and expert in his craft. He  has a great eye when suggesting improvements and is realistic and honest in what can be achieved immediately and over-time.  He's extremely knowledgeable and patient in explaining it all to the client as well. I booked a haircut with Kayla and I think I've found my new go to in studio city! I've been looking for someone closer to home and have been to a number of other salons in the area in the past year. I am so impressed with Jessica's skill and precision. She was absolutely lovely - excellent listener, professional and her attention to detail was beyond extra. Lovely service from Kayla! A perfect professional. I spent about four times the money I usually do for a "do," and for someone reason I never felt the pain! Why? My hair looked great for days and days! I didn't have to do anything! The only thing I regret was not being able to tip her sooner. It was a week before I could give her a tip she earned. Apparently, the salon doesn't cash out tips with employees! I wonder how many good stylists don't get tips because the client doesn't carry cash? I shouldn't have to pay more money just to use their ATM. Perhaps this a trend in L.A. But at a nice salon in a high-end neighborhood, the owners should think about changing the way they tip out their stylists. BALAYAGE done by ALYSSA-I recently had the best balayage done by Alyssa! She's so great, patient, professional, and hears exactly what you want and brings it to life. I haven't been this happy with my hair color in a long time. I've also received many compliments about how nicely it's done. Alyssa is amazing!! I went in for color correction. I also wanted to change my hair color to something different than before but wasn't sure exactly what would look best. Alyssa was very patient with me and made a suggestion. I trusted her opinion and so glad I did! Â My hair turned out better than expected! The new color was perfect for my skin tone and made my eye color stand out. Alyssa is such a nice person to talk to, does an amazing head massage, uses very good products which made my previously damaged hair silky soft and she's a talented hair stylist. Had such an amazing experience my first time out today at Salon True! Abdon is a miracle worker!! I have very long and very heavy hair, and I walked in with major color and layering issues after a bad trip to a different salon 3 months ago. On top of merely fixing the issues, Abdon took the time to speak with me about what I was looking for, answer my questions, and made me feel at ease with all the decisions. I have never been with a stylist as long as I have been going to Nuria. It's been over 13 years and I am happier every time if that makes sense! The salon is in a great location and so beautiful and clean. Â It's spacious, comfortable, and everyone is so sweet. Â My husband even sees Nuria every 2-3 weeks for a haircut! Â Nuria is always "on it" with my cut, color, highlights, blow-dry, and Keratin. Â I have trusted her with many events including my 40th birthday party! I have been going to Salon True even before they opened their Studio City location. I love what they did with the place! I feel extremely fortunate I came across Salon True and Eli (owner)! The way Eli cuts hair is truly a work of art. When I first found Eli, I had hair down to my waistline, I wanted a change, and I completely trusted him to chop off my hair! Â Best decision!!! Very very pleased! Nuria is such a delight to work with. She was able to fit me in on a weekend a few weeks out from my request. The salon is huge.. very clean and well maintained. They have valet which was like $7 I believe... cheaper than a meter if you're getting a lot done to your hair like I was. I had dyed my hair dark brown from balayage and damaged my hair quite a bit of damage from it... and an odd streak in the center of my hair from being left on too long. Half the people I asked about an appt to fix - either told me to just wait and let it grow out (which knowing my hair would have taken 3 years).. or the price was insane. Nuria was realistic with how much change could happen - and she actually was able to lift my hair a lot! It wasn't the tone I exactly hoped for but it looks amazing and after another session I'm sure it would get there. I highly suggest coming here! Price was around $230 before tip. Avik was great, really listens to what you want you won't regret it and make an appointment to see him. He's fantastic really knows hair well. Won't give you something that won't work well with you. I couldn't be happier than I found Salon True on Instagram. I was in need of a new hairdresser, so I contacted this salon. The front desk staff were so nice and able to answer all my questions. I booked an appointment with Alyssa to get balayage and a cut. My first appointment with Alyssa was amazing!!! She listened to everything I wanted and  helped me decide which would look best for my hair type/skin tone. She made sure I had a small bite to eat and a drink to sip on! The end result was AMAZING! Like...better than I even expected especially having had some bad hair experiences before I found this salon. Since then I've been going to Alyssa for all of my friend needs!The salon itself is also very nice! Super clean and modern. For this location they have metered street parking and valet available! One of the best experience I've ever had at a salon. Very welcoming staff, they even offered me drinks, Â professional atmosphere, beautiful and clean salon. The girl who washed my hair was so gentle and the products they used to shampoo and conditioned my hair smells and felt so good. Eli did my cut and style and I couldn't be more happier. Forever, Ever! He has transformed my hair from black to blonde all while maintaining the health of my hair. Initially I wanted a subtle low maintenance look which wouldn't require me to come back for touch up's often. Ever completely understood and gave his best work.
