I was very unhappy with my hair color and cut, so I decided to try them out.  First I had a consultation with Grazia and she explained what she would be doing and when I went back, she did exactly what she said.  I love my color and the cut is fantastic.  I have received so many compliments on my hair since I was there.  The shop is very comfortable and the people were so nice and friendly.  I highly recommend Grazia and Salon Passione!! I have trust issues when it comes to my hair, because I am terrified of getting a bad cut! So, any time I try a new place I am very wary. I had nothing to fear with Chad at Salon Passione. He knew what to do with my hair from the moment I walked in! He tells it like it is and gives great style guidance based on hair type and level of upkeep that I'm willing to do. Chad, Grazia and the entire staff at Salon Passione are amazing. They are talented, hospitable, and down to earth. Chad is a master with color, he is the only person I will go to. When I moved from Pasadena to West LA I still hauled an hour each way for cut and color. I tried finding someone closer because driving 40 miles round trip in LA is a bitch and I have zero free time, but nobody else can get the color the way I like it.I highly, highly recommend trying this salon. I've been to many salons in across the major US cities and this is my favorite one. Aside from their talent, they are also like family and you don't find that everywhere. GOT AN AWESOME CUT!!! This is an update on an earlier review about the stellar white-blonde highlights I've received from Chad, which are the holy grail for blondes. I am a natural beigey-golden-ashy blonde, which I only note insofar as my cut relates to my biracial hair, and I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking I was lifted from dark hair. (I have no doubt that they can lift dark hair to blonde, but it's my general understanding that the darker the hair, the more steps involved.) My natural shade lifts fairly easily, but I've not previously received what I wanted at other salons in under 2 hours (and generally not at all what I realky wanted even after tgat long), but Chad got me further to pale than ever WITH foils in ONE hour total in my last 2 visits. But I digress. My cut. I finally got my hair cut after 5-7 years of doing it myself. I have an acute phobia over getting my hair cut because I'm biracial (Black & White), with 3b-3c curls in the back, strange waves in the middle and 4a in the very front. It's always ben traumatic b/c my type of hair NEEDS to be cut dry (since I sometimes go straight), yet most stylists INSIST they can cut wet, but then take too much b/c wet won't address the inconsistent shrinkage. So I don't trust anyone anymore. HOWEVER, Chad refused to cut my hair on my first 2 visits b/c the most flattering length was a bit marred by my self-imposed layers. So I waited 4 months, until we were both ready. That's integrity and the height of professionalism to me, as the "up-sale" didn't matter to him, but the most flattering cut did. I know this is getting long, but biracial hair needs to be treated differently, and it's important to me to give credit where it's due. SO, even though I showed up with my version of straight hair and wanted a dry-cut BEFORE hi-lights, Chad insisted on blow-drying and flat-ironing to get it perfectly straight for the dry-cut. No easy feat when you have a lot of hair. Having read his Yelp reviews, and trusting him from my earlier visits, I decided to trust his instinct and experience with however much to take off. My only goal was an inverted bob, so I showed a few different pictures on my phone, but left the details up to him. HUGE leap of faith for me, but I absolutely felt comfortable with it. And I did get just the best, and most flattering cut! A week later, and I'm still loving it. Epic story short, the cut and highlights left me looking like a better version of me. They said I looked 10 years younger (which is flattering, but I never believe flattery out of habit), but I can honestly say I FELT 10 years "lighter" - I looked like someone who wasn't bogged down with the stress I've had being a caregiver to my elderly parents. I looked like how I used to feel at my most confident, being a career trial lawyer. I looked less worried and more myself on days when things are going well. Maybe seeing myself as I used to be DID take me back 10 years in my appearance, but it really was much more to me to FEEL 10 years happier. So, yeah. What I'm saying is this was an awesome, transformative experience, especially to someone who has forgotten to take care of myself as I did before the stress kinda piled on. Which is a little bit miraculous to me. And my review would be incomplete if I didn't mention how Grazia's presence and sunny enthusiasm really makes it such a lovely experience. She's so warm and open - and the fact that she's a "curly girl" herself extends the trust that I have in Chad to the whole of the business. She's given me tips and took the time to make sure I was happy and comfortable. Just a really great place, amazing people, and such professionalism that you can feel absolutely safe in their hands. I booked an online appointment with Chad on Yelp for a color and a cut, and was able to get an evening appointment the same day. The salon is clean and bright, I was greeted right away, and brought a cup of fresh coffee in a mug since I had arrived early. As I was waiting, I noticed the customers were all regulars, which was a good sign. I wanted the underside of my head to be a deep purple, and a stylist I had gone to before under processed my hair and it ended up turning red, which Chad explained is the hardest color to lift. He did it though, and he did it fast, without damaging my hair. He also colored the top of my head a dark black to contrast the purple. After the color, there was an amazing head massage during shampooing, then a cut, and blow dry. The whole process took about an hour and a half. Super fast, but no cutting corners on quality. Oh yeah! As a former model, I've moved all over, had the best and the worst hair cuts and colors. Chad is, hands down, one of The Best. And bonus -- he's reasonably priced!Through a friend's recommendation, I first went to him with a desperate plea -- "Fix it!?" -- and he did! He made my brassy lemon-head hair the perfect platinum I was looking for.Then, a couple of weeks later when I realized how happy I was with the color, I risked life and limb and went back for a cut. Again, I was delighted! I shouldn't have been surprised: my friend's hair is ADORABLE.I have to admit: I'm not easy. I don't ask for 'normal' cut/color, and I'm not very articulate in my direction. But somehow he gets it. Chad is a hair magician, I am so thrilled about my haircut! This is my first time getting my locks cut by him and I'm so glad I came here. I finally took the plunge today and got an A-line bob cut. So far, this is the shortest I've ever cut my hair. Although an A-line bob hairstyle seems like a simple cut, not all stylist can cut it with such finesse and precision. I love that I can swish my hair whichever which way and it still falls into place perfectly. Not too short not too long, not too layered, just right.Overall I had a great experience. I absolutely LOVE what Chad did with my hair! I'd had one stylist for 3 years that could never get anywhere near my singular goal of white-blonde hilights, so I began to believe it just wasn't possible. However, after reading so many reviews about how amazing the hilights are at Salon Passione, I decided to finally do something about my off-color yelow-blonde mess I had grown accustomed to. I was driving down to Laguna Nigel to get my hair done and yes it was good and cheap but the drive was killing me.  I was asking some friends who lived local where they went and a friend recommend that I check this place out. Make an appointment with Chad - you won't be disappointed. After my first visit to Salon Passione a few years ago I refuse to get my hair cut anywhere else. Found a groupon for this place and headed over to get my damaged poor hair cut and treated. There is limited parking in the back, and the lot is a little bit tricky to find. The service was professional, and the inside was modern and clean. My stylist was really nice and because I had little preference for how my hair was cut, just made some executive decisions for me - which I appreciated! Hair is feeing great and healthy now! One little draw back is she that I got a deep moisture treatment as a part of the groupon deal too, but my hair just felt like it was regularly conditioned. Chad and his wife, Gras always do a consistently wonderful job. My Husband and I have been coming here for years for our haircuts. I do have to give a shout-out to their new "shampoo girl", Jade. She has great hands, and while the conditioner is on your hair, she covers the top of your head with a hot towel, AND gives you a hand massage! I purchased a LivingSocial voucher and was able to book an appointment for a few days later with Marina. She was super friendly and listened to what I wanted and my concerns (I always get a bit nervous when I have someone cut my bangs). She took her time and asked lots of questions about my daily hair routine and style. I left feeling great!Marina gets 5 stars! I gave Marina a pretty good challenge: fix my messed up haircut without knowing me and my thin/straight meets thicker/curly combination hair. She did a fantastic job, checked in with me through the whole process to make sure that I was happy with it, and was incredibly professional when she could have said "What the heck happened to your hair?!" I think I just found my new stylist! While I didn't know anyone, it appeared that most of the clients were regulars. More importantly, every client was walking out with great cuts and beautiful color.  The salon is bigger than I expected.
