I read and heard a lot about the hot dogs. Â They're everything everyone said. Â Great hot dog with all the fixings. Â I will be back again.

Favorite place to get hot dogs/ fries in the Yorkville area. The customer service is great every time I come here and the food is really good. Tastes like an authentic Chicago dog! The fries are also really good! Stop by for lunch, you will not regret it. More...

Dang.... just got home after picking up some food to go. Sat down, took one bite and had to post this. Best hot dog  outside of Wrigley field! The container they put it in kept the bun steamed so when I bit into it, the bun was so soft and warm and the hot dog had great snap. I swear it's like it just melted on my tongue! Will definitely be eating here again! More...

This place gets five stars on the service alone. It's a faster food joint that takes the time to make the food look and taste great - nothing is thrown together, it's made with care. Â Every person I've ever encountered working the front has been personable and friendly - none more than Tony who truly makes you feel welcome and at home in his place. I've tried just about everything on the menu so far:Fries first. Â They are the best fries in the area. Â You can't get a better fry in Kendall County. Â Hand cut. Â Fresh. Always hot. Perfectly seasoned. The only place even close was Mr. Beef and Gyros in Oswego, but they closed, so Salerno's wins best fries in the area hands down. Dogs. Great Vienna Beef dog. Â Wish they had steamed poppy seed buns, but even without, this is a great Chicago dog. I love the way they slice the pickles. Chili cheese dogs. Â Delicious. Â Messy. Â Perfect balance of chili, cheese, and onions. Â The snap of the Vienna Beef dog is fantastic. Polish. Â They serve it a few different ways. Â I've tried them all. Â My favorite is on the French roll with mustard and onion. Â Such a treat. Beef. Â I hate to do this, but this is the only strike against them. Â There are a few different styles of Italian beef, and I just prefer a great deal more spice and seasoning to mine. Â I'll take this one in a pinch, but it is a little bland. Â That's ok, though - I'll just have more dogs and fries. Service, prices, and cleanliness. Â All A+++. One of the best quick meals in Yorkville. More...

I rated Salerno's 5 stars knowing full well its a hotdog and beef place. Here is why:1. Â Vienna hot dogs done right! Â Mic drop2. Real potato hand cut fries were awesome. Ordered two servings for three people. Initially thought one serving was enough. We ate both. Salted correctly, not greasy! Excellent3. Reminded me of growing up in Schiller Park where hot dog stands like Gene and Judes (River Grove) reigned. 4. Service was off the chart good and while small, the building and seating area was neatly painted/remodeled and clean. I will be going back to try the beef. More...

One of the greatest hot dog spots in the area! If you're looking for a good dog that's almost like you're getting it from Chicago, this is the place to go. It truly tastes like you're getting a ball park weenie or a true Chicago stand dog. The French fries are out of this world, cooked to perfect golden brown. If you're in Yorkville I highly recommend stopping here for a good Chicago dog! More...

Finally had the opportunity to stop in to check out the "Chicago Style Hot Dog" in Yorkville. This was a throwback to my teen age life. This is not a '50s place, it is the presentation of food as it was back then. A real focus on the quality provided: Vienna beef hot dogs (slightly longer than the bun), fresh cut fries, mustard, relish, onions, sport peppers, celery salt. This is what I got as a kid, and if I closed my eyes, I was there. My wife made the same comment when we got back in the car. Can't wait for the next stop: Maxwell polish, pizza puff, a Tom-Tom tamale.Great stop for a flavorful quick meal. More...

We went there to try their fare and had the Maxwell St. Polish. My wife and I both got it and she got it on a hotdog bun, and I on a French roll. Both were very soft and juicy, the onions were delicious, sweet and well grilled. The fresh-cut fries were very good and one order was enough for the two of us. My 16 year old son had a hotdog and was very pleased with it, even commented that it was better than Portillo's.The drinks were all sold in cans, and only have Coke products. So Pepsi drinkers have to pack ahead of time. Overall very good comfort food and quite a bit on the menu for most people who are picky. Will be back to try the pizza puffs, Tom Tom tamales and jumbo dog. More...

Was visiting in Plano with the family and on the way home we stopped at Salerno's for Chicago hot dogs & fries. Hot dogs were just the right snap when you bite into it. Buns were soft with poppy seeds with just the right amount of celery salt. Fries are fresh cut on site, really, really good and you get a boat load of fries. They only have canned soda. The place is very, very clean. Limited seating but comfortable chairs with counter space for eating. Owner and staff were pleasant to all of us. This is a must place to stop and eat!! We will definitely be back to visit. More...

Was excited to see a new restaurant opening up, so as soon as they opened I had to try them. Unfortunately I didn't try a hot dog yet but I had the Italian beef & fries and I was not disappointed at all. The beef was dipped and juicy just how I like it and was seasoned well. I also loved the fresh cut fries. Been wanting to try other items but I've been missing them because they've been closed the last couple times I went by there More...

Great family ran business. I was finally in the west bound lane on RT 34 so I stopped in for a couple dogs fries and a drink. Tony Salerno was cooking and I opted to eat in and we chatted between customers and I found out he used to serve dogs at Oswego baseball games when my kids were in baseball. We were always happy to find him to get everyone a snack and were devastated when he stopped serving there. His current location is easy to spot as it's painted the Chicago Vienna Hotdogs colors. The dogs are great and as I told Tony the fries are the best I've ever had. I'll be back to try more items on the menu and wish Tony future success. More...

As a fast food junkie...from dogs to beefs to pizza and everything in between. Â I have to say the hot dogs and fries were great. I guess the only thing missing was a poppy seed bun. You could tell that Tony the owner has a passion for his hot dog stand, and it shows. Cant wait to go back and try the beef and Maxwell street polish. Great to have this place in the area...its needed. No I don't live in Florida...don't know how that happened. More...

Chicago dog was GREAT! Perfect amounts of every topping. Asked Tony why the bun wasn't poppy seed. Got the answer and a history lesson of his hot dog career. Lol! TomTom tamale was cooked perfectly.
