Wonderful and very knowledgeable. Â Learned much of salem and its history without having to be in the freezing cold. Â It was $40 for 2 adults, our children were free to ride. Â Made some stops by some of the most exclusive as well as most talked about sites known to Salem. Â We were sadly on the last one of the day so didn't get to do the drop off/pick up thing. Â But it was great the kids enjoyed. It was all my son would talk about and wanted to do. Â The tour guide was great, very well informed and funny. Â Made it a great tour for all of us. V More...

Mrs. Ward, a retired school teacher, made our trolley tour a divine experience. She was full of historical knowledge about Salem. I highly recommend to start your Salem sight-seeing with this trolley tour, and if you are lucky enough, like us to get Mrs. Ward, then you will be in for a fun tour with great historical value. I had a great experience and I will definitely do this tour again, with Mrs. Ward. More...

This was my favorite thing we did in Salem! We did the 1 hr tour on a Wednesday at 10am the week before Halloween. The tour shows you everything of importance plus more! I loved how it took us to the water. It was a comfortable ride and such nice views! We didn't end up hopping on and off, just took the hour tour. More...

What a great way to experience Salem and hear stories and facts from the people who live here! I rode the full 1 hour train ride yesterday 10/9/19 and was able to use the trolley to get on and off the rest of the day. Both guides were amazing and kept the ride very entertaining! The gentleman who sold the tickets was great as well! He recommended many places to see along the trolley ride! Highly recommend to everyone!! More...

What a great way to see the town and in one hour! The tour guide was hilarious and entertaining --she made the tour so enjoyable and her banter w the driver was funny too. She had some great stories about all the sights we were seeing and moved along at a good pace. The hop off /on option is great and a bargain at $20 for the day. Check on hours though we thought they were longer and luckily were able to catch the last trolley back to main stop for the day. More...

We got there at the end so we didn't want to get off near the water but it was beautiful to see. Our tour guide was hilarious too! More...

I highly recommend doing the trolley tour if you are ever in Salem. When you first arrive it doesn't really look like there is much there. You could possibly miss a lot not knowing. The trolley goes through the whole city and goes through the history. When you purchase the tickets they are good for the whole day so you can get on and off as you please. I sat near the huge window and took pictures as we passed by. It's also reasonably price. Try it out. You won't regret this tour. More...

Ben was our tour guide and he was so incredibly knowledgeable. I have to admit I didn't want to initially take the tour; the two family members I was with did, and I begrudgingly joined, and I'm glad I did. He had a great sense of humor too. The next time I'm in Salem I'm going to go again and request Ben if he's working! More...

We didn't do the tour but found the trolley to be the perfect way to travel around town. Salem is very walkable but it's great to jump on the trolley when you need a break or want to get to the other side of town quickly.

I love the tour and have taken it often. I learn something new each time . My only complaint is that some guides say the Ropes Mansion is where the Sanderson Sisters from the Hocus Pocus film lost their brooms when it's actually Allison's house.
Allison’s House
In Hocus Pocus, Allison’s mansion-sized house served as the starting point for the evening’s trouble. Ropes Mansion is on Essex Street in the Chestnut Street District in Salem.
The house has been around since the early 18th century, and is now operated by the Peabody Essex Museum. If you’re interested in taking a peek inside, the mansion is open to the general public.

Excellent and quite detailed tour of main highlights of Salem. Our only complaint was that although the House of Seven Gables is on the list of stops, you can't see it from the trolley. I would like to see the trolley drive by the house or at least have a five minute stop to allow us to walk down the street to see it. More...

Love the Trolley tours and the convenience. My sister, 2 nephews and I visit Salem each summer and the boys (now young teens) insist we do the tour at least 2-3 times each visit!
The older one would ride all day if he had his way. We love listening to the stories and each tour guide has their own variations and points of interest so each ride is unique! Only critique is the occasional extended length of time between trolleys at the stops..(more than 30 mins) , thus causing the trolley to be overfull by the time it comes around and no idea if the next one will be around soon or full also. Otherwise, it is a wonderful experience!
See you again next year!

Tammy and the rest of the trolley staff were awesome and so accommodating for our wedding! They had the trolley stick around an extra 30 mins so we could take photos with the wedding party on the trolley after the ceremony. Such a great way to travel to and from our wedding! We hired Salem Trolley to provide transportation to and from the hotel and wedding venue, and it added a really nice touch to our wedding day! My husband and I were lucky enough to get to ride back in the trolley, and we had a really fun time. The driver was very friendly, everything ran on time, the planning with Tammy ahead of time was straightforward, and it added a nice vintage touch. It’s more expensive than hiring a school bus, but in my opinion, worth the extra cost! More...
