My experience started with a simple #yelp search. I found a few salons near my residence and messaged them simultaneously. Damon, the owner of Rua, responded to my request for a next-day appointment with in 5 minutes. I used the coupon of free conditioning treatment as advertised on yelp which left my hair strong, healthy and conditioned. My cut was a long bob, or Lob if you will. I also tasked him with blending in my old bangs which I've been growing out. He perfectly executed both and then gave me a sleek blowout. I am very happy with the service received, the price was fair, the parking is easy, the salon is large and pristine. Finds like this make me happy to be a helper! Thank you, Damon. It was such an amazing experience overall. Every step was fun and relaxing, and I could tell I was in good hands, especially given how nervous I was about doing a very big chop (from about hip length hair, now to shorter than shoulder length) I liked being able to contact them through yelp, set an appointment, and giving them an idea of what I'm looking for beforehand! Damon kept a wonderful flow of conversation and made sure to get input on how I was feeling about my hair cut (although I had a grin from ear to ear the whole time so I'm sure that said plenty) he also asked about whether I'd be styling it regularly or more so wake up and go, and I said I'm more of a roll out of bed and go person, and he definitely cut in plenty of texture and volume to make it very easy to just roll of out bed and give my hair a good finger comb and shake. New to the area and they were so kind and helpful! My haircut was exactly what I asked for- I have kind of strange hair, that will only curl under very specific conditions. ..freshly washed, perfectly layered, and with product that isn't heavy but just enough to help me scrunch. Damon cut my hair and A) didn't make me feel like a diva with my hair neediness and B) managed to layer my hair in such a way as that it's curlier than ever. This place is amazing! From their very friendly receptionist, their amazing coffee & pastries to of course their services. Damon is the best. I've been a few times now and he's always been very patient and worked to get me just what I wanted. One of the times  I wasn't completely happy with the color and because I was going on vacation I wanted it redone (nothing he had done wrong, I just realized it wasn't what I wanted.) I made an appointment for the following week and asked for an estimate. He booked an appointment for a couple days later and not only did he work with me towards what I wanted but it was free of charge. This was my first time at Rua Salon and Kayley was my stylist and she was amazing. First off the salon was very nice and clean with a friendly receptionist who offered me coffee or tea. Kayley cut my hair so beautifully. I have been receiving non stop compliments on my haircut. I have very curly hair and she cut and blew out my hair so good. I will definitely be returning to Kayley! Excellent is the word for Rua for cutting, color & styling. The shop is beautiful. The work is professional and friendly.  They have facials & other services on the 2nd floor, but I haven't tried them.

Let me first say I had been super loyal to my last hairdresser (15 years!) but the drive to her is getting really old - she was just too far away so I wanted someone more local to me.  After reading the great reviews here I booked an appointment through Yelp - once I got there there was no appointment.  Somehow it didn't transfer into their books.  They then really tried to get me in and a lovely young hairstylist named Tiana said she would take me and this is how a beautiful new relationship has started.  Sometimes out of a nothing comes something.  And also, they have a good little coffee bar and everyone is really nice and chill.  Enjoy! This is the best place to get all of your hair needs. From a haircut to styling to hair dying. They have excellent hair products as well. I usually go to Tobias for all my hair needs. I've searched LA since I grew up here....for just a decent men's haircut and to not pay over $100 for one. I grew up going to R*dy's at the st@nd@rd and it was always hit or miss but as in my 20s, a $30 haircut was so worth it. I've been even on the opposite end at Andy LeC---- and it was a decent haircut but waaaay too expensive for a men's cut. I don't need to sit next to a real housewife or B lister. Finally I found Rua. Not overpriced. Always professional. Consistent, great haircuts. And the best free coffee . So if you want a good haircut and don't feel like paying celebrity prices for the same quality, go here. My schedule is super ridic crazy and I never know when I have time for a haircut. As such, I generally only get about 2 haircuts a year. I randomly called the salon on a Tuesday and was lucky enough to get an appointment for the following hour. Luckily I got Damon as my stylist. I explained to him what I was looking for, and he weighed in with some advice and we agreed on a cut.I proceeded to read a magazine (something I rarely get to do) and after about 40 minutes looked up, and discovered he had done a really good job. Not only did I get a hair cut, but he shaped my hair. It instantly looked and felt better.I *always* hate haircuts at first but with Damon, I really felt like my hair looked good after the first wash. Tobias is the BEST!! I always leave feeling beautiful. He is great at everything, color, highlighting and gives an awesome cut. I've been with him for a couple years now and is the first stylist I actually stuck with. He really understands what you want and is fast at doing it. I'm always out within 2 hours, and that's for the works! The salon itself is big and always clean. Everyone is nice here, especially Kate at the desk. She is great. Kaley is AMAZING! She truly is the best. I'm so glad I was referred to her. The salon is nice and pretty and low key with parking. The prices are great! Found this gem in Studio City a few years ago and every time I come in I love it. Great environment, clean, open and the staff is always professional. I have had Damon do my hair for the past two years and he has been great! The other staff seem awesome as well. Damon is a miracle worker! I came to him after getting a disastrous haircut by another salon. I'm so happy I found Damon, it is hard to find a someone that can cut pixie h/c. I thought I was going to have to shave my head and start over, that's how bad of a cut I came in with. He saw the vision of a style that I totally love!! I absolutely love my stylist Tobias! He is a genius with color and I have been going to him for years. I am picky and tend to be conservative, wanting a natural look. He concocts the perfect honey brown/blonde with just the right amount of highlights - alternating several different shades in his magical way to give my hair a lot of depth and interest.  I always get a lot of complements on my hair color, and can depend on Tobias for a flattering cut too. He is meticulous, but also notoriously the fastest gun in the west, so I am always out in a miraculous 2 hours flat.
