Roy's Market

Shopping at Roy's is one of the high points of my week. The friendly, personal, welcoming service is incredible, and the selection of products and the prices are extraordinarily good for a small market.

I have been going here since living in Peterborough and these folks are simply the best. This store is small but it has it all - great meat counter, produce. .. and the service is stellar. Everyone is super nice, helpful, they hold the door for you and sometimes will even carry your bags to the car. Old school! I love supporting small businesses like this; they CARE..... they work very hard to keep customers happy and they deserve all the kudos in the world -  so refreshing to see a small business do right by their customers. Roys is more of a butcher shop with some grocery items. Sometimes the smell is god aweful but that is just how it is at a butcher shop.  If you are looking to do all your grocery shopping here you are probably going to be disappointed.  I don't think they have carriages and if they did you probably couldn't get them through the store anyway.  The wings were once amazing but now i feel like i get an eclectic collection of midget and handicap looking wings.  The produce area sort of feels like an after thought but with that said they have bailed me out a couple of times with one ingredient i needed that i didn't want to walk through Shaws for.  There wine and beer selection really doesn't disappoint and is the one thing other than the meats that i would recommend.  A great location to quickly stop in for something without the hassle of going into the grocery store.  Easy main st parking and almost always quick in an out if you are looking for last minute meat, bread, beer, wine for a meal. Locals know Roy's so this is a call-out to anyone passing through in need of a few groceries or beautifully cut meats. This is the place. It is venerable, old school, museum quality, small town grocer with a load of modern twists. And if you know any gentlemanly adults from Peterborough NH it is likely that they wore the "red coat" while working at Roy's while in High School. Yeah, these young fellas will carry your bags to the car.There is nothing like it around here. Roys Market is a Great place to shop. Yes they are small but they fit a lot of product into there store,from everyday items to gourmet products. They have just about everything! If its not in stock they will special order it for You! Not to mention the best meats in the monadnock area, maybe even the State. They have friendly workers who know what their doing! They even bring your groceries out to the car for you! When your done shopping there go to Maggies Natural food store, And Little Roys.
