Great patio atmosphere with starry sky above! The asparagus with shaved egg was delish however the eggs were non factor; couldn't taste them. Kale with pickled grapes was a surprisely good combo! Had a very laid back anniversary dinner here. Waitstaff is the perfect combination of personable and knowledgeable. Love this place. Amazing food and a great wine list this is a gem. The chef/owner trained in France and it shows. Everything is first class here. I especially appreciate the wine by the glass menu as it allows you to taste several different wines without over indulging. They do a fantastic brunch on the weekends, too. Possibly one of my favorite lunch stops in town. Really comfortable outdoor seating. Inside available too. Had a nice tapas style lunch by sharing a variety of small dishes. Had yucca fries, crab cakes and mini burgers. That was plenty for the two of us but we tend to eat small portions. Sangrias (both red and white) were really good and perfect for this hot day. Top notch service bringing top notch food. Had a great time at Roux as a party of 9 tonight. The manager greeted us and she was very friendly and took care of us well. There were wonderful tastes brought out from the kitchen to get us in the mood, yucca fries and chorizo corn dogs. They were out of the short rib (cest la vie) but the wild boar shoulder ravioli were dead on the mark for that desire - savory and rich with a pulled-boar ragout. Get dat boar. They had a fantastic Brunello di Montalcino from Compigliano which was a big bang for the buck and landed perfectly for all of the dishes. Roux is a terrific place. I had a memorable evening there. The menu is short and simple, but the food is absolutely delicious. I tried the duck breast and strawberry cheesecake which was done to perfection. Apparently they grow their own strawberry. Also the service was spectacular. We went to Roux on Mother's Day, we were greeted, sat outside under an umbrella, temperature was perfect! Some sun and some shade, heavenly garden to enjoy. They were unexpectedly busy(everyone walking in at the same time) but it was worth the wait. Quality offerings prepared perfectly and so, so fresh. Salad, ceviche, shrimp and soup, everything homemade and excellent. Chef Roux really cares, he came out to check. In spite the extra long day (huge brunch), he was mellow and kind. Even sending out dessert to accommodate waiting guests. A special touch by him and our most darling server, Katie. Bussers were attentive, sweet.It's hard to run a restaurant when everything happens at once but these pros handled it with the utmost decorum. We loved our meal,Katie and the whole evening. Chic restaurant with interesting menu and good wine list. Enjoyed all parts of the meal, would recommend. Had two waiters describe the ingredients in the same dish in different ways, could lead to issues with food allergy.

Just an amazing find. We had a girls weekend in Carmel Valley & after a day at the Refuge Spa, we were ready for a great meal. Roux did not disappoint. Our waitress, Christina, while young, had great knowledge of their menu & wine list. The food was so good, so perfectly plated. Betwee us we had salmon, short ribs, & steak.
