Does not look like much and the menu eclectic so imagine my friends' and my surprise that they serve up some really good food.  Soup du jour was tomato bisque and it was excellent; not too sweet; not too sour and not too heavy with cream but very smooth.  Did not require additional seasoning.  Crostini was a slice of baguette topped with creamy Brie and thin slices of apple with the option of avocado.  We tried both with and without and I prefer it with the avocado.  Made it creamier.  Next up was roasted mixed vegetables, drizzled with balsamic vinegar.  I love the addition of fresh sliced cucumbers and spinach with the roasted vegetables.  We also ordered the Fried shrimp and calamari.  It was served with a zesty sweet sauce reminiscent of a Thai chili sweet & sour but more robust.  The batter on the calamari was light, yet stayed on it.  Easily one of the best fried calamari I have eaten. And did I say Sangria.  The red was refreshing and delish.  They do not skim on portions and we were too full to try the entrees but did sneak in an orange creme brûlée and it was delicious as well.  I will definitely go there again. First we ordered the burrata and it ended up just being caprese with sliced mozzarella, tomato and basil. Not burrata at all. Then we ordered the grilled veggies, lasagna bolognese and chorizo pizza. Grilled veggies came out quick and they were really good. Unfortunately the lasagna and pizza took more than 50 mins and we had to ask for it to go because we had a show to go to. They just kept saying "it's cooking", but it never came. I should also mention that when we ordered, there were only 3 tables so they weren't very busy. When we ate the food later at home, I realized the chorizo pizza was not as advertised. It was supposed to have chilies and basil on it. Ours was just a plain cheese pizza with a few crumbles of maybe chorizo? (May have just been plain sausage because there was no kick at all). It was good overall! Writing this review mostly to highlight the waiter/manager/owner who served us. He was completely distracted when taking our order and when I asked him about two different options on the menu, he said "they're just different". ..? Highly recommend.    We have tried the Charcuterie-Cheese Board, Grilled Vegetable Mix and Pizza. All are excellent.  The Pizza dough was just how we like it.  Thin and crispy with a good chewy flavor.  Toppings were flavorful and not overbearing.  The grilled veges were to die for.  Something I will never been able to duplicate at home.  All the staff is very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly.Nice atmosphere, outdoor seating. Three stars based on waitress. I had the olives with peasant bread.... it's a baguette cut on diagonal. Olives were nothing special, just OK. Not sure if the real chef was out or maybe the dishwasher was cooking. The waitress told me at least twice that they were waiting on the carbonara then there was no eye contact until she came out with an oversized bowl with plain pasta, a raw egg yolk in the middle and barely cooked BACON (not even pancetta) and no cheese. I'm a trooper so I tried to use the egg yolk as "sauce" but it was so dry and the bacon so undercooked I just couldn't. There was 1 couple when I arrived. We always love having dinner at Rosewood. And even better is when Kristopher is our server. The food is incredible but the service brings it up a notch. We've been here many times and are always so excited to come back. My husbands favorite dishes are the lasagna and the chicken mole. We sat down at 2:21pm. We got our FIRST appetizer at 3:03 pm... there are only 4 other parties here. We only got 2/3 of the appetizers, we had to remind our server about the third appetizer. The portions are EXTREMELY small. The pizza was burnt, it was black. Would never eat here again and hopefully we save other customers from this horrible experience. The place had a cute little outside to it where my friend and I sat with the pup, and got two pizzas. Was so excited to try this place yet was so let down. They are trying but not delivering. Took 25 min to get a beer when it was dead, the food that came out was cold on hot plates that had sat under a heat lamp. The order was wrong but no mention was made by the staff that they  were out of a key item in my dish. I ate here on recommendation of a friend.  Some of the meal was great and other not so great.  I hesitate between giving 3 or 4 stars. The good - the burrata appetizer and the beet arugula salad.  Large portions and very tasty. The burrata could have included a few more tomatoes.  But I swear they gave us a whole pound of burrata.My friend had the Chicken mole which was super moist and tasty but a little heavy handed on the salt.  If it had not been so salty I would have given it 5 stars.  I had the fish tacos and they were dry and bland. I would NOT order these again.  The beans that came with the tacos were pretty good. One thing we both thought was that the main courses should come with some kind of vegetable but they did not.Unfortunately they had a musician playing music quite loudly which made it super tough to have a conversation or hear each other.  We asked if he could lower the volume but they just snickered at us.  They said they have music Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.  None of the desserts interested us so we skipped trying them.I might return for another go but not sure. This place was a little hidden gem on a popular street in Oceanside. Super fun decor and every single person working was super sweet and accommodating. Had a family dinner here, and chose this place based upon the Yelp recommendations from previous diners. This location is easy to find, and is well decorated inside.  There is also an outdoor patio.  Acoustics are not the best for conversation, but it still worked.The menu is amazing.  A little bit of everything, without being overwhelming.  I had the fish tacos, which were great.  My son chose something from the daily specials, which was their version of a fast food chicken sandwich (ala Popeyes, or Chik-Fil-A).  I mention it's a daily special, as it may not be on the menu the day you visit.  But everything was delicious.  Definitely a winner. We had a nice time yesterday for dinner at Rosewood Kitchen! The restaurant closes at 9 pm but we still were served even though we showed up at 8:20 pm which was much appreciated. Some restaurants like to close their kitchen early. We ordered caprese burrata salad and the snow white pizza as well as a glass of white wine. The wine pour was VERY generous and much appreciated. If you are a wine lover, I highly recommend ordering a glass of wine here! I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and it was delicious. The food was delicious as well. I would say the burrata salad was my favorite. I dipped my pizza crust in the burrata because why not :)  Staff here were very accommodating and friendly. There wasn't many people in the restaurant for a Tuesday night right before close. In fact we are the only other table crowding the restaurant. I give one star because the waitress (nice blonde girl) was exceptionally nice and efficient. She was really nice, gave us some info about what to visit in the city, always with a smile. Thank you  BUT BUT BUT the food was a joke !The owner should fire the chef, and the chef is the chef of nothing. He/she should find another job but not in a kitchen because He/she 0 at cooking.The owner should be ashamed of serving this food to customers. The food is fucking delicious, great atmosphere and employees are always nice and very knowledgeable of their menu. Owners will come out and talk with customers, which I always dig, learning the back story and where they get their ingredients is fun to learn. Decorated on the inside with some amazing local art. I've been hearing about this place for a while now and we finally tried it last night. It was so delicious! They had live music and we sat on the patio. We had an arugula and beet salad, a pizza and their salmon special. Everything tasted so interesting and it was all SO good. The blackened salmon came with asparagus and a black bean risotto, we were freaking out over how good it was. We finished with tiramisu and it was also perfect. We stumbled upon this place after a couple of cocktails nearby. The menu looked decent, if simple. We sat down and our waiter started telling us about the specials, which all sounded a better option than the menu. We started with a couple appetizers that were fabulously tasteful. I then ordered their special chorizo burger, medium rare. It was by far the most flavorful burger I've had in a while. Absolutely delicious. We had a strawberry shortcake for dessert. Waiter said the whipped cream and pretty much everything in the dessert was made by them. Once again, it was full of flavor. It didn't taste artificial or overly sweet like most American desserts typically do. I stayed "hydrated" and had to make a couple trips to the bathroom. I got to experience both bathrooms which were really clean. Always a great sign to me. At a time when restaurants are struggling to hire staff, this place almost looked overstaffed. In a good way. Hostess was moving to the DJ's loungy beats. Another waitress was smiling and chit chatting with patrons. It just felt like an amazing place overall. Maybe my judgement was impaired by the two cocktails I had before coming here, but it was to me a memorable meal. Had dinner there yesterday late afternoon.  The kitchen must have been warming up for the night because the Pierogis were cold inside and the Brussels sprouts appetizer were way undercooked.  The server took both back to the kitchen, and the Brussels sprouts came back tasting burnt with no hint of basalmic reduction.  The pierogis were better.This isn't a place we'll return to.  The pizza was good, but hey, it's pretty hard to screw up pizza. We came for lunch, split a GF pizza and some other eats. It was ok. I was hoping for better but it was just ok. The waitress though was spectacular. Can't think of her name but she was blonde. She made the experience much much better. She was helpful with my wife and son being Celiac. I give her all the credit here. I'd like to give it another shot as the food looks good in pics here and there are good reviews, maybe we just came at the bad time. First time my husband and I dined here and it was amazing! Kristopher greeted and sat us and provided excellent service throughout our evening. Food was incredible and full of flavor. The owner, Josh came over to make sure all was well which we appreciated. The food and atmosphere brings a 5 star evening and we are looking forward to coming back! Indifferent, that's how would rate the wait staff hence my three star rating. Before this week's visit It had been about a year and a half since my last visit to Rosewood Kitchen; back then the staff was attentive and the food was great. The food is still great but poor quality service really made this weeks experience sub par. Wait staff walked by my husband and I multiple times without checking if we needed a refill (our glasses were empty) or if we needed anything. They have both inside and outside seating. We chose outside because the weather was amazing. Our waitress Jessica was so sweet and helpful. My friend had the lasagna which was huge. My other friend had the Carbonara which she wished was creamier. I had the Olive and Peasant bread which was pretty tasty. Two of us had the red sangria which was great because we like fruity. Jessica made some suggestions help us decide which she definitely knew her stuff. She was right there for anything we needed. The atmosphere was great and the whole kitchen staff was awesome. I was overly ecstatic and was dying to try Rosewood kitchen, especially because of the amazing Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, Rosewood was extremely underwhelming and I will not be returning for many of reasons. For one, I was craving spaghetti and meatballs and saw that they didn't offer the dish on their menu, so before sitting down, I proceeded to ask an employee if it's something that they were able to make. The employee proceeded to ask the owner, who asked the chef, who ultimately confirmed that they had the supplies to make it. My friend and I started off with some sparkling wine and bruschetta. When I tell you it was the most bland bruschetta that we have ever had, I am not over exaggerating. There was 0 fresh garlic and 0 balsamic. It was truly just tomatoes with olive oil served over a cut baguette. The server took the dish back and apologized, stating even he had tried it and would have made it a lot different than the chef by adding fresh garlic and a balsamic glaze. I then proceeded to order the spaghetti and meatballs for my entree, when it came out, the dish had angel hair with a watery marinara on top and tiny meatballs. I told the server before he even set it down, "please tell me that's not angel hair pasta." He said it was and I proceeded to tell him that's not what I ordered and had even confirmed with the staff prior that my entree could be made. He went back to the chef with the plate, then came out ~15 minutes later saying they found some spaghetti in the dry storage that they could whip up and make me. Not only did the entree come out within 5 minutes or so, it was clear that the chef was upset because he came out of hibernation to watch my reaction to the dish. Not only was the pasta sitting on yet another bed of water, but it was cold. It was almost as if the chef was retaliative to my requests for spaghetti and marinara and served me what was close to dog food. I didn't touch it after the first bite and was charged $29!!!!! I asked to speak to the owner who proceeded to defend the dish and the chef. Nothing was taken off the check. My best advice? Save your money for a place that deserves your business and appreciates it. There are plenty of amazing Italian places in the area such as Fratelli's, Viggiluci's in carlsbad, Fresco's, Cicerotti's. Don't give your business or an ounce of your tastebuds to Rosewood Kitchen. Double thumbs down More...

This place was a nightmare!!  I wish I knew what their food tastes like, but we spent 5 minutes at host stand while the host flirted with some guy who was 300 years old!  I saw the manager walking by the front door and flagged him down. He told us to take a seat anywhere and we seated ourselves outside. The waiter outside was flirting with two girls at the table next to us and look at us several times over the course of 20 minutes I never brought us water or menus or anything.  He finally went inside and we thought " Oh great, he's probably going to get us menus? But then he came back out and continued flirting for about 10 minutes, still seeing us, but doing nothing. We finally just got up and walked away.
