Roots Burger Bar

We ordered tenderloins from Door Dash from Roots. They were tender and well seasoned. The sides were fresh and delicious. Would definitely order again when I’m back in town.

I’ve dined at Roots several times and never had a bad experience until today. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad to go today for lunch. The salad consisted of wilted lettuce and chicken. No egg, no bacon, no cheese. It was the most unappetizing salad I’ve ever eaten and I paid $13 for it. I was visiting Muncie for a work function and found Roots Burger Bar on Yelp.  I started with the fried Brussels sprouts and they were very delicious. The spicy soy dressing was the perfect complement to the sprouts.  For my entree, I ordered the PB&J burger with  fries.  I was very impressed by the delicious burger.  I'm sure some might be appalled by having peanut butter and elderberry jam on a burger, but it is an awesome combination.  I had a slice of cheesecake for dessert that was good, but not anything that was as amazing as the rest of the meal.  The serving sizes are pretty big and the service was fast and friendly.  Because of the health crisis, I don't think I got the full atmosphere of Roots, but I'll definitely be back next time I am in Muncie. We had curbside tonight, Italian beef, the melt, and butter noodles for the kid. We all had tator tots. I was worried it would be soggy bc carry out gets that way but honestly everything was so good. The tots were still crunchy and I loved the fry sauce. They did forget the PB pie but they made it right with us. So that was fantastic. And everyone was very friendly. Will definitely be back! This was my first time at roots, I like the place although it can be a little tight. I had the chick and the egg, which was surprisingly better than I expected. I wish there was more egg salad on the sandwich, but the sandwich was delicious! I was a BIG fan of Scotty's, and my whole family was pretty sad when they closed down. I was in Muncie and a friend recommended I try the Roots (in the old Scotty's) for lunch. And I'm glad I did!! I had the Sloppy Jalopy with a Caesar salad, and both were fantastic. My food came out quick, and I would order it again in a heartbeat. With that said, I was a little bummed out that they didn't have a "Shewman-esque" burger on the menu. I will definitely bring the family back! More...

The PB&J burger reminded me of the Shewman Special, but even better with the addition of grape jam. A great American Burger Bar. Delicious choices. Great wings (two for one on Mondays). Popcorn while you wait. Good, local beer choices on tap (some we hadn't seen anywhere else) as well as old standards that you crave. The menu includes some really nice options that are not the usual fried choices. And the burgers!!! We enjoyed the The Mess. It lives up to it's name by dripping blue cheese sauce. We did two patties, and being Steak n Shake graduates, we were appreciate the smashed burger, but these patties weren't thin like that...Something different, but really nice. Great tots and sauce! The side salad was generous. Absolutely delicious! I am a bit mad at myself for waiting so long to try them out. I ordered to go for my family and myself. We all loved our burgers and fries. The fry sauce is wonderful as well. We will definitely be making Roots Burger Bar a weekly tradition So we finally dined in with the family and it was amazing! Great service, delicious food! Although I was sad to see Scotty's go...ROOTs is a fun, lively new spot for either lunch or dinner!  The menu has a nice variety (so far I' ve had the regular hamburger and taco salad). I was impressed with both...the seasoned fries are good and you can also ordered them plain (without the seasoning).  Love the popcorn and can't wait to try the Nashville Hot chicken next time!  Come try ROOTs- especially if you are over chain restaurants!!   :) More...

Being over 200 miles froM home and wanted a non chain place  this hit the spot . Got a triple southern pride  burger with grilled onions and provolone. Should have gotten the double instead. Too much meat for me. Like the check in for yelp but if your not going to be here on Monday's to use it because your going to be in the area. Doesn't help. And they don't have plan B for that. So that's a small negative. Sat at the Megan was ok the other bartender put napkins down for people sitting next she didn't . The bar wasn't set up to make margaritas and they complain about it. And didn't want to make them. Your in the service industry if someone wants a car bomb make it. The bar Mats where set up wrong with the advertisement towards the bartender not the customers. It's my understanding that there made to sell there products not for me to guess what it is. (Observation) all in all good food I would come here again. The value you get is good. I've been two times and I will definitely keep going back! The menu includes a variety to please a range of taste buds. You can order fried bologna, cod, burgers, wraps, salads, wings, nachos, seasoned fries, and much more. The atmospheric is fun, upbeat, and also laid back.
