I adore this salon! And even more, I adore Mikel Ramos, who saved my hair from ruin: literally, when I first met him, it had been so damaged by salon and at-home color and my attempts to fix it that it had ended up pale green and peach, as brittle as fiberglass. One visit later, people were stopping me on the street to compliment me on how silky and beautifully colored it was, no exaggeration! (I was handed two telephone numbers that afternoon, too, which was fun.) I now have trusted him to take me everywhere, from crazy fashion colors like purple and hot pink to my current "Oh, my hair just magically happens to be perfectly sunkissed and J.Lo-esque" natural-looking bronde with dark roots. No matter what the shade, Mikel is a trained painter who is a master at color theory and loves blending different shades into a nuanced, artistic composition. It's the #1 secret to my va-va-voom. :-) Love going to Ron King Salon, too - it's feels glamorous but everyone's very friendly, complimentary parking is super-easy at the Four Seasons residence tower, and the products and processes they use keep hair really healthy and strong, so it can grow long! This place is as good as it gets. Modern ambiance and also relaxing. Pleasant check in and was offered champagne upon arrival. The entire salon is green; ask them about it, the process is INSANE, mad respect for their efforts. I came here for a woman's hair cut with Dallah. Dallah is amazing... he is so passionate about his work and is also incredibly good. I left feeling so confident, and so relaxed. I can honestly say it was my best haircut. I've gone to Milk and Honey and a couple other nice salons in Austin and had negative experiences with my thick hair and their balayage services. April at Ron King is an absolute perfectionist and will be my exclusive stylist in Austin going forward. She also does my boyfriends hair AND showed him a way to style it to prevent damage. I am about to complete my 5th visit with this salon. Each time it is a color and cut. Previously had the same length and natural color for the last 10 years because i was not able to find a salon do what i asked. I probably went through 3 salons before finding this one. I met Ron king my first visit and he was very professional and polite, even shook my hand. HAHA...... Every time my look is complete i fall in love all over again. It is a bit pricey for my income, but it is absolutely worth it!!!! TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!. The color stays on for a very long time. They do ask for you to come back a month after the color for a gloss coat, but my hair holds the color so well that i can wait an additional month. One of the things you should always take care of is your hair, and this place is the place for keeping it in check!! More...

I’m so impressed. Patricia Gallegos was GREAT! I had put off going to a stylist for well over a year because when I did they wouldn’t listen to me when I said “don’t cut any length “. They would always end up cutting it clean up to my ears. Patricia explained every step as she went along so I felt informed and comfortable. I can’t say enough about Patricia and Ron King Salon on E. Cesar Chavez St. I watched other clients come and go with their new haircuts and I have to say they looked awesome. I was in Austin for a Seminar and wanted to get my hair evened up and searched the internet for hours until running across this salon. I went and saw Brittany Wand for the first time and I absolutely love my cut and color! I hadn't had my hair done in about a year and a half bc I never trust anyone, but I'm so glad I was recommended to her! My hair was super dead and I really don't know how to style it and she took the time to show me different techniques and tell me about products that would be better suited for me.. she even managed to curl my hair (which no one has ever been able to do bc it falls immediately)! In love with this place! I came in for a blow out at first, which made my day. My hair smelled amazing for days! Andrew treated me like a queen and my hair looked flawless. I ended up coming back because as I was leaving the girl checking out had just put extensions in and let me tell you guys this is a game changer! The weaves are so minimal you can’t even feel them (or see them). My hair is full and bouncy and I feel like a new person. Ethan and Ron came and talked to me personally as they were in when I was there. It’s always nice when the owners of a business let you know they are there for you when making a big change! The prices are not as much as you would expect for the location and the luxurious vibe you get while there. The salon I used to go to down the street was actually more pricey.
