Rolando of RolanDog was superb. He was very gentle and patient with our little toy poodle. He was able to get her to do things that we had not been able to accomplish in 3 years. I highly recommend him.
What do you love most about your job?
Ever since I can remember, I've had a passion for animals, specifically dogs. As a child, I was afraid of dogs because some had acted aggressive towards me, and they scared me. I later learned to communicate with them by pure observation and childhood curiosity. Today, I understand that communication was the key to aggressive behavior, and I use that communication to turn an aggressive dog into a loving friend. That is what I love about my job. There is no other job that I have enjoyed more.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Many years ago, I went to the county's animal control department and saw three shopping carts full of dead dogs waiting to be incinerated. That image had a traumatic effect on me and I knew then that my life would be dedicated to these animals. I wanted to do whatever I could to keep dogs from this fate.
Why should our clients choose you?
This field has become very competitive and I know there are a lot of good trainers out there and I'm glad because the market needs more of us to keep the dogs from the pound. Whoever you decide on working with, I hope they bring to the table the experience, knowledge, kindness and enthusiasm that I bring.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I could, but I won't. I want to be present and feel the dog and I want the dog to feel me. I can communicate with people online, but not with dogs. I need the participation of the dog and the human to make an effective training situation. If you must do this online, please call some of the other trainers.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We will wear masks when the situation calls for it.
Puppy Start Up
This is for overwhelmed owners that realize their new puppy did not come with instructions on how to deal with the biting, chewing of furniture clothes shoes, pee & poop in the house, etc.
Obedience Training
All dogs can benefit from Obedience Training. May be we just got a dog that is over six months old and has never received any training; so, he drags you around the neighborhood, barks at other people and dogs, guards or steels food, doesn't come when called, can't stay in one place more than two seconds. A dog like this can be turned around so that he walks without pulling; stops when you stop; waits for you; comes when called and behaves calm at home and outside. This is accomplished with Obedience Training and behavioral modification.
