Q&As

Helping to attain client fitness goals is very individual. Listening to each client to understand her/his needs and direct positive change is key. Teaching proper technique and form for exercise, directing each client to the most appropriate exercise routine for her/his goals and encouraging clients throughout the process is a must. There is no one size fits all program. I am also able to offer advice on food and nutrition and how to choose the best food options. Ultimately it is up to the client to follow through with exercise, activity and appropriate eating for health and weight goals. I am the coach, but the client is in control of her/his own body.

There is no secret. It takes work! Anyone who tells you otherwise is conning you. Bodies are all different, so each of us will have limitations that cannot be changed. Exercise will not provide bigger breasts or narrower hip bones. The body of my dreams includes longer legs-obviously not going to happen.

I really enjoy people. It is great getting to know clients and following their progress. Helping others to be more healthy is vey rewarding. Making my own schedule isn't bad either.

A good friend of mine started her own business, and inspired me to do the same. She pointed out that if she could do it, so could I. Initially, I was reluctant because I thought that it would be too overwhelming, but I pushed through my anxiety and did it. It was a very good decision!!

As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for over 25 years, I have been educated about and worked with an array of injuries, diseases, and body types. This knowledge exceeds that of most personal trainers. Additionally, 20 years of personal training experience and regular continuing education in both fitness and nutrition has further increased my knowledge and ability to provide an excellent training experience. Many clients who prefer to exercise solely with a trainer have been with me for years. Other clients have learned how to best exercise and maintain their health within a limited number of sessions, and then continue on their own.
Providing compassionate encouragement is how I approach each training session, respecting clients' likes, dislikes, and abilities.

I do provide services online via Zoom. This is not my preferred method of training clients. The in person contact is much more helpful in correcting technique and providing clients with the one on one experience that they seek. I also learn a lot about a client's home life and habits by being in their own space. This helps with making suggestions for ways to increase activity and improve eating habits and overall health.

During the initial stages of covid-19 I only saw clients remotely. Now that I am entering their homes, I will wear a mask at the client's request. I am fully vaccinated and had my booster. Using hand sanitizer before and after seeing each client is my standard practice. I wash my hands as frequently as possible.
