What do you love most about your job?
I love to be responsive to my client's needs, and I love to figure out how to best solve the multi-piece puzzles that make up today's architectural projects while creating places where everyone can feel comfortable, like it’s home, and places that are responsive to, and in context with, the environment.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted to work directly with clients so I could better understand their needs and desires and turn that into a completed project exceeding their expectations.

Experience. We have been in business for 37 years which means no on-the-job training for your project. Each of the hundreds of projects during that time has added to our design skill, our knowledge of construction techniques, and expertise with zoning regulations and building codes. For each project, we blend the client's unique needs and opportunities with a dash of something special to create a customized solution beyond the client's expectations.
PROJECT SCOPE PLANNING
The first step is to identify and document the project requirements including client needs and goals, zoning and building codes, and other opportunities and constraints. Starting the project with a defined scope eliminates going over time and budget due to a trail and error incomplete design.
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
° CONCEPTUALIZATION: We organize the elements of the project scope into preliminary concepts and explore options so you can make choices at the beginning of the process.
° DESIGN: Develop the size, layout, and massing of the chosen concept and evaluate and select building systems that facilitate the design.
° CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS: Technical architectural and engineering drawings and specifications used for permitting, bidding, and construction.
PERMIT ACQUISITION
Submit applications and construction documents to permitting agencies and negotiate with agency staff the approval of planning and building permits
CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT
° BIDDING MANAGEMENT: Solicit on client's behalf, construction bids, then review, evaluate and recommend the appropriate qualified bidder.
° CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION: Advise and consult with the client and work with the contractor during construction to insure execution of the design. We administer the terms of the construction agreement, authorize payments, and close-out project completion.
