About

I'm a small, independent web developer and have been rocking databases, websites, video editing, SEO and SEM for almost 20 years.

During the day, I'm a web developer for a medium sized liberal arts college and in the evenings I turn into a superhero web ninja, taking on small projects to companies all across the nation in helping them redesign, create a new or create a custom website.

Q&As

Honestly, as a developer its not so much how it looks as how it functions. I would rather have an outdated looking website that performs well than a sleek, expensive site that doesn't do anything.

The key to having a great website is having a great foundation, that lies within a couple of things like SEO/SEM framework, Basic structure elements such as menus, how you place them and some functionally like a sales funnel for example.

I like to ask some general questions about what the client is looking for, get an idea of their vision, gather a list of requirements that the client wants the site to do, static website, blog, business portal, online shopping, sale funnel style site, etc?

Aside form a great design it's also important to think about the future, AFTER someone like myself is going to create something. How will the website grow? How will it keep fresh content and drive traffic to it?

I love building things for people. Also, I enjoy being able to have a creative mind based on a clients brand.

Well, I worked in TV, Radio and Hollywood for a long time and got into web developer by accident. I had a personal website with a dial-up company called Prodigy, yeah, OLD School like 1998 and a guy in Russia found my website, liked it so much he wanted me to build him a website selling those little dolls that open up and theres another one inside. From there, I started building sites on the side for local businesses and I've been doing it ever sense. I left the broadcast career to pick up an IT career in professional web and database design and development.

Honestly, alot boils down to cost. Since I live in Roanoke, VA my overall costs are generally less than those in larger cities. You can often get the same thing from me for less. And I'm not going to oversell you on things that you don't need. Everyone's website is different and everyone's needs are different too.

Sure, you can hire someone else, but I have one thing the others don't... me.
