Dropped in today and it was an awesome experience. At my home gym, ChalkDust CrossFit in Powell, OH, one of the mantras is “be more awesome”. The crew at RIV today lived this mantra and the members I met were very kind and welcoming. I appreciated the pointers to get acquainted in the HUGE space they are lucky to have. I absolutely love what I've experienced at riv athletics! I've been doing a free trial of the basic package that excludes crossfit so I can't speak to that, but the rivfit and rivendurance classes are both awesome! I love this place! The workouts are challenging but fun! My back ground in the fitness world and personal training in the regular gym do not compare to the cross fit workouts here. The coaches are amazing and very motivating. Most of the lifts we do are new to me but the coaches work with you to ensure you are lifting properly. Also, Everyone is so friendly!!! I have been at The Riv since July and I absolutely love it. I was intimidated by Crossfit and the intensity surrounding it. However, The Riv is anything but intimidating. The coaches and fellow members are inviting and encouraging from day one. Any ex-college athlete will tell you it's everything you need in your life to keep your competitive edge. I highly recommend joining. I was not crazy about the price, but it is worth every penny. The coaches are knowledgeable and it's a great community to be a part of while getting stronger and more fit! I'm really enjoying the variety and intensity of Rivfit. The coaches and atmosphere have been great, the workouts are unbelievable. There are days I cannot believe the WOD's I've completed. Well I'm not a member yet. However my son Derrick & Raekwon wrote in a letter to thank everyone at his cross fit gym. All the hours of hard work is really paying off in Marine boot camp. Derrick has made such an impression that his Senior Drill Instructor has promoted him to First Squad Leader of Platoon, 3068! He'll be graduating on 9/11/15.
