Steven was amazing with my golden retriever, Goose! He corrected all of his bad habits and made him the perfect dog for my household. Not only was he great with training my dog, but he was great with explaining to me how to sustain the training Goose was given! I was also pleased with how the board and train went. Our trainer Amy did an amazing job with our lab oaky, before we took her to Amy it was impossible to walk her on a leash let alone take her outside off leash without her running off. We sent oaky with Amy for 3 weeks over Christmas and she kept us updated every day on how oaky was doing along with pictures! Now oaky can go everywhere with us and walk amazing on leash and off leash without being reactive! Oaky also loves Amy so she enjoys having sleep overs when we go out of town! Thank you Amy! More...

My husband and I had our 7 month old German Shepherd pup, Loki, do the 3 week program with Isaiah. It was very hard to say goodbye but Isaiah’s background in dog training made us confident he was in good hands. Isaiah sent pictures and videos, and made phone call updates as well throughout his training. We’ve had Loki back for a week now and can’t believe the difference it’s made! It’s such a joy to finally take our puppy places rather than it be a hassle. Loki is incredibly behaved inside and outside of our home now. My 11 month old German shepherd just finished the 3 week off leash program last week. Her trainers Ashely and Greg were wonderful! I never doubted once during those three weeks that my girl was safe and receiving the best care! They made sure to update us daily on her progress, and addressed any/ all concerns. My Roxie had basic obedience before the program, but with the help of Ridgeside (specifically Roxie's amazing trainers!!) she is now able to flourish. Her growth in obedience is astonishing, especially when it comes to distractions. Not only did they train my girl, Ashley and Greg gave me the confidence to continue with her training, and they gave me all of the tools I need so my girl can be successful! The best part is now I am able to grant Roxie off leash freedom that she has worked hard to earn over the last few weeks. Jaquashia was the trainer that worked with our bull terrier Vada. She is very knowledgeable and patient. We did once a week classes with her for 8 weeks and was able to gain control of some of the issues we were starting to see that brought us to training in the first place. We brought Jazzy, my American Bulldog, here for a behavior modification program. Even after completing some training with another company, she was still struggling with self control, and behaving aggressively on walks and in the home with visitors. My wife and I couldn't even take her on a walk around the neighborhood without having to wrestle her on the leash. After working with Chris at the Ridgeside Myrtle Beach location, she is now an absolute pleasure to take for walks and barely reacts at all to dogs, cats, motorcycles, any of her old triggers. I also took note of how fit and happy Jazzy was when she came back to us, she was so well taken care of; she even whined when Chris left after dropping her off! I would recommend Ridgeside to any of my family and friends. We sent our newly adopted K9, Coco, for a three week board and train. Isaiah Kennedy did an amazing job with her. We weren’t sure of a majority of Coco’s history, but the biggest things we knew was that she was a tripawd from a previous accident, had reactivity towards dogs and people, poor leash manners, and had selective hearing/listening. Needless to say, Isaiah put in so much time and effort with her that she came home to us as if she were a new dog. Receiving the daily updates of text, pictures, and occasionally calls really helped us not miss our girl as much. This wouldn’t have been possible without Ridgeside and more specifically, Isaiah. All pictures were sent from Isaiah during training. After only two days of her being home she only continues to progress with her training. I would feel more than comfortable to have Coco attend more trainings from the Ridgeside community. More...

I enrolled my 4 month old male golden retriever in Ridgeside K9’s puppy university 2 week program. The process from Day 1 with my free consultation through day 14 with his trainer, Hania was absolutely amazing. I was so skeptical of actually going through with leaving Brodi at someone’s house for 2 weeks, Just because I didn’t want him thinking I was abandoning him. When I had my “interview” with Hania she made sure I was super comfortable with the entire process and she reassured me that Brodi was not going to forget who his mom was. From the day I dropped him off to the day I picked him up, I saw the same sweet, goofy boy who was much more behaved. I can now walk with him on a leash without him pulling me down my apartment stairs, he actually stays right by my side in a very relaxed, calm demeanor. When working on place on his place bed, I can walk out of the room and he stays until I release him. He is still a puppy and messes up but we are working through it together with the help of our trainer, Hania! I can’t wait to see the progress between us as time goes on! Isaiah trained my golden retriever puppy, Bodhi. Bodhi completed the 2 week board and train program. I was shocked when he came back. He went from a hyper pup to having more self control. I don’t even know where to begin! I was so lost and frustrated before I started training with Steve!! I decided to do the individual training sessions. We are only halfway done with our sessions and I am already so happy with all of Bo’s improvements. Bo has already done a 360 from when we started to now. Steve made me feel so confident not only in training my dog but just being a dog mom in general. He is so kind and is always there if I have any questions or I get confused. He reassured me that it is my training and my dog and we made goals that I wanted to achieve with Bo. Steve Hanson trained my Doberman puppy through the puppy university program. He did an absolutely phenomenal job teaching her multiple commands, behaviors, and manners. Everything he told me he would teach her, she retained it and performs and behaves so well. He also took the time to retape her ears while he has her. He taught me everything I needed to know to continue training and be successful. Lastly, he worked around my schedule, accommodated my timeline very well, and sent me daily updates with pictures and videos while she was with him. Steve does excellent work highly recommend. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kristen and Ridgeside K9! When we adopted our rescue dog, Roxy, we realized quickly she had little exposure to living in a house and limited interactions with people and we needed help. We went into the 2 week board and train program a little skeptical, but we were pleasantly surprised with the results when she came home. I sent my boy to Ridgeside for their 3 week off leash program. I got him as a very high drive 2 year old who literally had no off switch. My trainer was Steven and wow did he work wonders with my boy. All of my concerns were addressed, I was updated on his progress whether good or not so good, and I felt comfortable knowing my baby was in terrific hands. They truly care about your doggo. I’m confident my boy knows what he’s doing now. He responds to corrections and gets super excited when the prong collar comes out. (He knows he’s about to go on an adventure). If you need help with your pup I would highly recommend you reach out to Ridgeside. They respond quickly, get you scheduled and are very sweet. Once the training is over they continue to be available if you do have a question or an issue. They also do pack walks which is a wonderful way to maintain training and exposing your dog to new things. And more importantly… you get taught more too! Greg and Ashley are the dynamic duo!!! You would think they would get tired of each other going to work and then home 😂 but it’s the exact opposite! You get double the people working with your dog and knowing two reliable dog trainers are the ones inside the home teaching and caring for your dog absolutely puts your mind at ease and I never worried once in the 3 weeks she was there! My dog was a reactive Shepard/mal mix that wore my patience thin, who neighbors crossed the street to not be around, could not be in public but now gets all the compliments and told she’s a pretty girl after 3 weeks with Greg and Ashley at Ridgeside! Our 6 month old Goldendoodle, Gus, graduated from Ridgeside’s 3 week training program with Steven and Greg last week! We are truly amazed at the differences we see in him. His leash manners and overall obedience in our home have improved drastically! We are so grateful to Ridgeside and the foundation they have laid for both Gus and our family, owning our sweet boy has just become so much more fun and enjoyable! Steven, Greg, and the other Ridgeside staff we met during graduation were all very friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable. My 5 month old German Shepard Bentley was wildly energetic, had no leash manners and was just a hassle overall. While 9months pregnant we sent Bentley to train with Steve in the 3 weeks board and train. Hands down one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Steve updated us daily with any and all progress he was there at anytime to answer questions & make us completely comfortable throughout the entire process. Once we got Bentley back he was the same energetic dog but this time he was more relaxed & well behaved. Steve really help set a steady foundation for Bentley and with the life long support they offer I know that he’ll reach his full potential. Our 7 year old (Zoey) and our 5 month old (Zorro) spent 3 weeks with Will and the team. Zoey always struggled with anxiety and leash reactivity and Zorro was so easily distracted. We have had them back for 3 days and the transformation is amazing! Zoey and Zorro still have their very goofy personalities but have control and focus that we needed. While I was very anxious about 2 weeks board and train-more for me than my pup, our trainer Ashley made it so much better. She sent daily updates and videos/photos and even played along with Bruin being Mayor of our Neighborhood with her posts. Bruin is happy and has his same personality but just better manners. RidgesideK9 did a phenomenal job laying a solid foundation during my dog’s 3 week board and train. Prior to training, I knew what I had to do to train my dog, but the foundation wasn’t there. Sending my dog to Ashley for 3 weeks was the best decision I ever made. She came home still her normal spunky self but was significantly more obedient. We can now enjoy each other’s time together in the house or outside and I don’t have to worry about her pulling on the leash and running off, jumping on the countertops, or jumping on guests. I would absolutely recommend the 3 week board and train program to any puppy or dog who needs either a foundation built or a little discipline (mine was 5-6 months old when I sent her). My wife and I decided to send our 2 year old pitbull to Ridgeside and the results were beyond what was expected. We sent our 14 week pup to Ridgeside and Hania was absolutely amazing. She had open communication with us and sent us daily updates on our sweet girl. With two kids at home (4yo and 1 yo) it was worth the time investing in a good trainer for our girl. She walks on a leash like a champ and learned all the basic commands.
