Always enjoy X -- my only request would be for a couple of lighter appetizers as even the salads have creamy dressings. But if you're not worried about calories, enjoy!

We had an amazing dinner at Restaurant X! The ambiance was charming and festive, with a fire warming the front room. Chef/Owner Peter Kelly is known for his unique creations that are both beautifully presented and delicious. This meal did not disappoint. The four of us each had different dishes and we all were equally happy. The chef's treat at the onset of the meal was a nice touch, as were the macaroons that were brought at end. I highly recommend this restaurant. For two couples from opposite sides of the Tappen Zee Bridge, this is the perfect meeting spot! More...

Restaurant X A warm, inviting spot serving excellent fare. While the hours are now more limited (lunch is now only served on Fridays, brunch remains on Sunday and dinner nightly) the food is delicious and the atmosphere is lovely. For a restaurant of this caliber, with a chef who has this celebrity status, the prices are reasonable. We had our holiday office luncheon on Friday, and the three course lunch was delightful. The mushroom/truffle ravioli (more like dumplings) were so incredibly divine. The butternut squash soup and salad were very good. The composed entrees were all thoroughly enjoyed. The salmon was perfectly prepared. The ahi tuna (although too rare for my taste, but was graciously cooked a bit more for me) was fresh and tasty. The pastas were enjoyed and devoured. The desserts, ahhhh the desserts, were beyond decadent and delicious. The creme brûlée, is expertly prepared. The chocolate ganache dome with an interior of chocolate mousse was dream worthy. The “ Yule log” was a light pastry filled with warm, luscious chocolate and was scrumptious. The service is very accommodating, gracious and attentive. Whether you try Restaurant X for lunch on Friday, a lovely dinner, or the exceptionally wonderful Sunday brunch, you will love this place. If you are in Rockland County, a wonderful meal at Restaurant X is essential....and, if you’re not in Rockland County, it is worth the trip. More...

Food was, as always, delicious. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We had to look for our server a few times to both order or , sadly, get served. This is not characteristic of Bully Boy. More...

It was a wonderful evening. The chef gave a cheese appetizer to start. Then we ordered the duck fillet with fries which was absolutely superb and the most delicious fries. We split the special cod which flaked when touched by the fork. It was absolutely tender. The biscotti with coffee and tea made a perfect end to the meal. Victoria our waitress was extremely helpful. They made an excellent sidecar and the rose cava was tasty. More...

We love Restaurant X. It’s our go-to place for celebrations large and small, and we always have a wonderful experience from the food to the service to the atmosphere. This time, however, we went during restaurant week, and although the food was marvelous, the rest of our experience was not. Upon arrival, there are always homemade marshmallows as a treat in the lobby. This time, there were napkins and tongs, but no marshmallows. The receptionist said they were being refilled. Okay, that seemed reasonable. We were seated shortly afterward, but the restaurant appeared to be understaffed despite knowing that restaurant week is always quite busy, so our server was rarely around if we needed anything. Dinner itself was fabulous, all four members of our party loved everything. Partway through our main course, however, a large and very loud group of ten people were seated next to us. They were loud, boisterous, and completely oblivious to the fact that they were significantly annoying the rest of the dining room. Normally the clientele here is sedate and respectful—this group was the total opposite. (Husband went to the rest room, marshmallows were still “being refilled”, according to the staff.) After dessert, we had to wait about 20 minutes until our server appeared so we could ask for the check; she simply was not present for most of our time there. When we finally were able to pay and leave, the marshmallows—you guessed it!—were still “being refilled”. So although the food was wonderful and absolutely up to their usual standards, service and atmosphere were pretty poor and very disappointing. I would hope that in the future, they are more equipped to handle the crowds during restaurant week as well as loud obnoxious patrons who disturb others... More...

We've been to this restaurant before and the food and service lived up to our expectations. We were seated right on time and the four of us all ordered off the special "Hudson Valley Week" 3 course menu. All dishes were excellent. The only problem we encountered was where we were seated. It was a cold night and we were right near the windows and, worse, a door which some diners used to enter and exit. The area was too cold to be used as a seating area and the women at the table never removed their coats. Needless to say, I would refuse to sit in that spot again. More...

Great Sunday brunch. 17 course, something for everyone. Unlimited Prosecco. Only negative on this day was septic issues. While in line to be seated customers were told about the issue and that it could not be resolved within the next few hours. The septic smell was intense by the entrance. Everyone had the option of leaving. Where I was seated the smell was not bad. It was questionable keeping the restaurant open but the place was packed. Had a great time. More...
