We dined at this restaurant after hearing so many recommendations. Restaurant Tyler did not disappoint. The pork chop was the biggest I’ve ever seen and cooked to perfection. The fried chicken and macaroni and cheese...oh my heavens...were the best! We will be back! More...

This is the best place to stop for breakfast in Starkville. It's in downtown so parking can be kinda hard to find, so a little walk might be needed. It's packed on Sunday and closes kinda early so plan accordingly   I had the steak biscuit and it was one of the best things I've ever had in my life, and I'm not a big breakfast eater. The biscuit was warm and fluffy, not dry or hard one bit. It had a good flavor to it like it was almost buttermilk. The steak on top was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The glaze it had on it, I think a balsamic glaze, went well with it. I don't like eggs, but the scrambled eggs on top of it were edible to me, which means they were really really good.    The mimosas also made the breakfast a lot better. I sat at the bar, and had about 6 while watching tiger win the masters.   The staff was super friendly, and my mimosas, while not bottomless, were always filled. We popped in a for a lunch before CVM graduation and fortunately beat the noon crowd.  I had a hamburger steak (hold the gravy) with swiss and mushrooms with sides of collard greens and green bean casserole. My husband had fried catfish.  Both came with sweet potato cornbread muffins.  i'm avoiding flour, so he had mine and said they were great.  The hamburger steak and green beans came out room temp and the cheese was not even warm. I sent it back to reheat, and it came back with melted cheese and hot casserole.   I love it when they can fix a meal without wasting food, so that was good. The hamburger steak was very good, the collard greens were sweet (and I don't like them usually). The blue plates were about $10 and a great value for a nice place. My only negative besides the food temp was that there were very few non-starchy, non-fried sides and no salad options for sides. It fulled up fast around noon, so it is definitely a local favorite. I've been here a few times for brunch and it's always been great! Sundays are busy so be prepared to wait a little bit they get you seated as fast as possible. Great food and atmosphere!!

Great place for southern food in Starkville! My meal was delicious especially the Vardaman farms' sweet potato casserole. Restaurant Tyler is Starkville’s Elite restaurant. This is where I prefer to go for special occasions. The bartenders are fabulous and make wonderful cucumber martinis which is a personal favorite and can not be surpassed

Absolutely wonderful meal...we began with the bbq okra. I honestly don't believe okra can be prepared in a better manner. I truly find it hard to believe okra could taste that good . I had the filet with garlic potatoes...it was excellent. My wife got the shrimp and grits. They were really good (not great.)Banana Pudding was good. Service was good...I would definitely go back. This is one of the best dinners my husband and I have had! The crawfish dip and bbq okra was the best starter! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the mash potatoes were fabulous! ! My meal was great but my companions meal looked and tasted awful so I guess it's hit or miss. I had a veggie plate and the veggies were awesome. My companion had the sweet potatoes which could have passed for dessert as they were way too sweet. My sister and I had lunch at Restaurant Tyler while visiting my brother. The three of us started our lunch with the fried okra appetizer. So yummy and totally not what I expected. We each ordered a different entree and sides. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the fried chicken with crawfish sauce and the chicken meatloaf.
