Josh fixed my hair! A few years ago, took some random salon up on a 50% off highlights deal and left the place stark-white hair (I kid you not, it had NO pigment to it). Needless to say, it was a COLOSSAL mistake. Luckily, I found Josh and booked him that next morning. He was able to completely transform my hair into the natural blonde color that I was actually looking for. I have stayed with Josh ever since and recently had him color my hair for our wedding. He is incredibly talented and truly will do whatever it takes to ensure you are happy with your color. My husband and I traveled to Chicago for a black tie affair the first week of December and after calling several salon's for a blow out and makeup, I chose Renee Feldman's Salon. They were the only salon that were able to get both accomplished that day. A huge shout out to Molly. She did an awesome job on my blowout. It was beautiful! I received many compliments. Today was my first time visiting RFS, I was in desperate need to get my colour done before the holidays and by luck I was able to squeeze in for a colour appointment today! For context: Hair Type: Wavy/Fine HairLength: MediumService: Cut, blow dry, and styledI have tried numerous highly rated salons in Chicago (paying a pretty penny), and judging by my first time at this salon, I can safely say that I have had the best experience! Molly cut my hair, EXACTLY THE WAY I WANTED IT (that never happens as I always get some variation of what I ask for, even after showing the stylist pictures of what I want!). In fact, Molly cut my hair even better than I could have possibly imagined. Molly's technique is amazing and she just knew how to work with my hair. Molly really paid attention to my specific cut and was very attentive to the smallest of details. The products they use in the salon are luxury brands and feel and smell amazing when put to use. Also, Molly gave me great insight on my hair and gave me lots of tips for hair styling and overall maintenance that I am already starting to go by. The salon itself is very New York - professional, sophisticated and cool. I say this because I'm from New York and get the same sense I get there - they are confidant and know hair technique. Leslie is excellent at balayage and bonus, an overall awesome person. She is dividing her time between Nashville and Chicago these days so be sure to make an advance appointment with her.I will mention that because the salon was busy, there seemed to be some small timing issues. For instance, I arrived on time for my appointment but waited 25 minutes. Also, I was pretty confused when I was asked during the shampoo whether I was being styled after the balayage. I said no and they changed my chair location and asked me what styling products I would like to use. So basically, I didn't know that not being styled meant that I had to blow dry my own hair, lol. I felt a little foolish? I mean, I've never left a salon and not had my hair dryed there but I guess if it saves me $45 then maybe I'm okay with it? Unsure.What also threw me off was that after my hair was shampooed, Leslie didn't check in to see if the balayage looked okay. It was only when I was at the counter checking out and the receptionist needed to see how much to charge, that Leslie came over to see if it looked okay when I was basically already out the door. Maybe this stemmed from the blow dry confusion because ultimately I decided to let it air dry since I was already running late to return back to work. More...

I have been coming to Leslie for color since Renee Feldman opened, and followed her from her previous salon. She is excellent at her craft, especially balayage. I always receive compliments on my color. Leslie listens and will work hard to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your hair. Additionally, the salon has a fresh, chic vibe, and is pleasant to visit in and of itself. Garo, the manager is especially helpful with bookings, and goes out of his way to find you an appointment, even if it is a last minute request. I highly recommend this salon. More...

This was my first time to Renee Feldman and I’ve had such a wonderful experience. I live in the Gold Coast and have been to many salons in Chicago looking for the perfect fit, including Charles Ifergan (not impressed, terrible cut, and even worse customer service, i. e. snooty employees. I live on Oak and Rush, and Renee Feldman was a 5 minute walk away on Oak and Clark. The salon is small, warm, and intimate, with very nice lighting that didn’t make me look haggard in the mirror. They play nice, mellow music, which adds to the ambiance. I had my hair washed by Sammy and she was great! I felt very relaxed after her shampoo. I had my haircut and blow dried by Brooke, who did an amazing job. My hair was very long and damaged, and I let her decide what to do. She cut all of damaged her off, which was a big chop, but my hair was still long regardless. What I liked about her is that she asked me very specific questions to ensure that she knew exactly what I wanted even after I told her to do whatever she wanted to my hair. I walked out of the salon with a gorgeous, bouncy, healthy head of hair that made me feel like a million bucks. I will definitely be coming back to Rene Feldman and will be referring all of my friends and clients there! More...
