What Makes Red House Kitchen a Great RestaurantImperial Beach has many spots to surf and rest for tourists. But, if you find yourself in Imperial Beach you must go to Red House Kitchen. There are many reasons why people love this restaurant. The first reason is customer service. Those who work at Red House Kitchen are very accepting of whoever eats there. The Red House Kitchen is also family-owned and includes the community ideas for their dishes. There was a great muffin that was created by a twelve-year-old in the restaurant that was very good. The family-owned aspect makes it a very helpful environment, the waiters are also very helpful. If there is a problem with your order they will fix it right away, and may even bring extra for you! Next, you will be impressed by the friendly atmosphere. If you go there, there is a great outdoor and indoor seating to make you feel at home. They also have a very organized menu to make it easy to know what you want to order, and if there is something you want to have but it is similar to what they have on the menu you can ask them and they can substitute ingredients to try and make you the dish that you want. Wife and I ate here two weekends in a row and will be back next weekend as well. I challenge you to find a better breakfast spot in all of San Diego for the price and quality. Even though every dish is under $10: it taste better than pretty much any fifteen dollar dish I've had elsewhere.Highly reccomend the "Donax don't tell": will overwhelm your tastebuds!The espresso is delishes, the lunch sandwiches are packed full of meat and fresh veggies. I am not a big fan of heavy breakfast but the protein bowl at RHK is amazing! First of all, their chicken sausage is too delicious and is very moist!  I usually order it with egg whites and no tomato! I'm a simple kind of gal! But the potatoes and seasoned perfectly and they are savory! Make sure to ask for their mustard! It's a mustard with seed in which gives it a little bit of a kick! So I had a appointment in the area, so I figured I'd get a quick bite. Opened up handy dandy   Yelp and found this  Little gem.  I tried the protein bowl. If you believe true perfection can be achieved, you would be a great human. Red House Kitchen is a restaurant that involves all of those phrases, and also plenty of joy. Why? Because it might be extremely healthy, but it's also extremely good. Protein Bowl, Avocado Smash, Cake by the Ocean and yes, even the coffee - I would happily eat this stuff on a weekly basis. I can't tell you why using curry oil, home-made chicken sausage makes this food healthier, but I can tell you that it makes it taste great.And unlike that wellness retreat in remote Costa Rica you were vaguely considering booking, the vibe at Red House Kitchen won't make you feel like you suddenly need to get in touch with your spirituality or pay $4,000 to be reminded to breath deeply. This place just feels like any other bright, friendly, laid-back San Diego spot in Imperial Beach -it's an easy choice for a casual breakfast or brunch. Came in this morning after a jog at the beach. This was my first time coming here. As you walk in there was the menu on top of the wall where you face the register. They had a menu for breakfast, lunch, coffee/drinks, and sweets. I really wanted to try the meat dishes, but I was watching the calories and cholesterol so I ordered the Kale Sweet Potato hash along with a Vietnamese Coffee and my friend ordered the Acai Bowl. The Hash was loaded with Sweet Potatoes and you could tell the Kale was fresh because it had that bite to it. If you love garlic then, it was loaded with garlic. I feel so healthy right now from all the garlic lol. The vietnamese iced coffee was smooth and was semi strong. I don't think it was convoy street Viet coffee strong, but I don't think too many people can handle that legal crack. It was an enjoyable, smooth, coffee. I don't know about the Acai bowl, but it looked good. Next time I will try other items. I liked the service and friendliness of the lady who was taking orders, bringing out the meals, and who was flat out sending rays of positivity to everyone dining at this tiny little restaurant. GREAT GREAT food! Was looking for a vegan/gf pizza place with meat eater options and came across red house, what a wonderful surprise. Sat at the bar and checked out how fresh everything was. Ordered vegan pasta, Utah on gf crust and pepperoni on traditional crust . Loved it all (didn't have the pepperoni but my bf loved it!). I'll give the food a 4 to 5 stars and the customer service about a one. They have really good food, really poor customer service.  We used to go there several times a week And spend a couple hundred dollars a month there. Now only if we are willing to wait an hour for our food will we go there. If you call something in and they say 10 minutes plan on being there at least 30 but upwards of 40 sometimes.
