In all my years of having a Yelp or Amazon account, I've never once written a review.That being said, Eddie Garcia is the best hair stylist I've ever come across. Eddie is a master of his craft, and goes above and beyond by continuing his education through advanced classes, watching countless hours of training, and even taking private lessons. All of which are on his own time and dime. Put simply, this is not just a "job" for Eddie. It is truly his passion, his pride, and something he wants to be the very best at.Aside from the technical skills, Eddie is a consistent perfectionist, patient listener, pleasant conversationalist, and a kind human being with high attention to detail. This review is LONG overdue, but I can't say enough good things about Paul. Not only does he take the time to really understand your hair, but he is incredibly practiced and skilled. I have very thick, curly and long hair and am always terrified to get a year cut. I've been looking for a good stylist since I moved here two years ago. EDDIE was absolutely amazing! Hair make over long over due!... I have thick long dark straight hair. I don't really mess with my hair, for years it's been the same. Finally one day woke up brave and decided to finally do it!Eddie Garcia (stylist),  was recommended by my coworker. So I contacted him and make an appointment. Eddie is super nice very accommodating and detailed. He asked me specifically the look I want, I showed him photo and gave honest opinion and suggestion what would look good with the shape of my face and hair texture, which I really appreciate. Eddie carefully washed my hair he was really gentle while shampooing (it was very relaxing). When he began cutting my hair he was really detailed he took his time working on my hair, he didn't rush me he really took pride on his work which I like. When he finished his work I totally love my new look. He gave my hair a lot of layering, shirt but not too short just perfect! This review is for Melissa.  I come from a salon where I was with my stylist for 12 years until their doors closed.  So I was on the hunt to finding a place where it was not pretentious.  I definitely did not get that bad energy when I called and requested for an in-person consultation.  I can't remember the gal that took my call but she was sweet and patient as she listened to my worries and concerns of looking for a new place and stylist.  It's difficult to put your trust to a stranger whom you've never experienced their work before.  In my case, I was paired up with Melissa.  The day I walked in, everyone working whether sweeping the floor or with a client looked up and acknowledged me.  They were friendly.  Melissa and I sat on the couch while I discussed what I was looking for and what I've done to my hair through the years; pixie cut to bobs to blunt cuts to long Kardashian-like locks.  Melissa was patient and never interrupted me and what I like is that she was receptive.  She assessed my hair and she gave me ideas.  I shared what I wanted; a cut, overall color and some low highlights around my face.  Done.  I booked my appointment.Day of, I got to my appointment 15 minutes early and Melissa tended to me right away.  However, I had a different idea I proposed to her.  Since I'm a good 70% gray around the front of my face, I inquired if she could do a silver smokey gray color on me.  My goal was to get the silver smokey gray effect on me so that eventually I can just embrace my grays and grow it out altogether.  Melissa explained the process and what I needed to do at this appointment to prepare me for the next one.  She proceeded by applying overall color that matched my previous dye and an A-Line Lob.  Before the cut, my hair was 2 inches above my bra line and it was dry, straw-like.  Melissa said a good cut is needed to prepare for the extensive work she'll need to do when she works on getting me to the silver-gray smokey color effect.  So we proceeded with the plan to only get a cut and overall color; no low lights.We started at 4:40pm and I was done by 7:30ish.  It took awhile to do an overall color and cut but that is OK.  She carefully paced herself and was thorough.  She left the dye on an extra 5 minutes and I appreciated she did as I am fully satisfied with how the results completely covered my grays!  The color matches exactly how a previous stylist had dyed it.  I'm very impressed with the color results!  I showed her a picture of the A-Line Lob and Melissa did cut it a little shorter than the picture.  That's OK too as I am really loving the cut!  I appreciated that she worked on me and only me.  I do not like being juggled with other clients.  When I carve out my time to my hair done, I believe the stylist should only work on me.  Overall my experience with Melissa was a positive one and although I must admit I am nervous to get my hair done with so much work to achieve what I want, the only way to see if Melissa can do what I am hoping for is to try her out.  I am excited and nervous all at once...I hope that the next appointment will be meet my expectations.  A couple of things to mention; she accepts catch, Venmo or check.  She has a bubbly personality, a great sense of humor, and really good energy that comes with a jubilant smile.  I like that she listens and she is communicative.  Her colleagues are just as friendly as her.  I appreciate the salon is not pretentious.  I really feel like I can be myself here.  Thank you for those who have shared their experience and made RECONNECT reviews.  I am definitely able to confirm some of the things ppl are saying about RECONNECT; warm and welcoming, good energy, and I attest that the consultation is informative and feeling out if you and the stylist vibes.  Something Melissa complimented about me and I urge those of you who are searching for that stylist, is to book an in-person consultation.  Right there, they can look and assess your hair and make recommendations.  Thank you so much Melissa for making my first experience at RECONNECT HAIR DESIGN a positive one. She is always creating something special for my hair. Her talents go beyond color and cut! She is up to date on all the latest trends. She also is a well established color educator. Kerry is always punctual, friendly and professional. She offers a cozy space with a Zen Garden so you can relax while soaking up her amazing scalp massage! This review is for Eddie! I've been searching for a while for someone to give my hair some life and Eddie nailed it! Finding a new stylist can be scary but he made me feel comfortable right off the bat. The consultation process was efficient and informative. You give suggestions and he gives you his professional opinions. My biggest questions were, "Will the hair style work with my work/life style, my hair type and face shape?" For myself, I honestly didn't know what I wanted; I just knew I needed a change. My hair was feeling very "blah" and I didn't know what to do with it. Eddie is the best! I've been to a number of salons in the past and Eddie has exceeded all of my expectations. Since I was a new client, he had a quick consultation with me over the phone to ask how much time I spend in the morning on my hair and what kind of look I'm hoping to achieve. I've never had anyone who went out of their way to provide a consultation for a haircut so I was quite impressed by that!On the day of, I showed Eddie my Pinterest board on a long lob and he agreed that it would fit me perfectly. He is very visual and focuses on face frame and HONESTY. If it doesn't work, he will tell you upfront. I appreciate that so much because he wants you to look GOOD!He spent almost 45 minutes on the cut alone and was super focused. When he was done, I almost teared up because the haircut was way better than I imagined! Brought my dad here for a haircut before a big event. They were warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped in, asking us if we wanted tea or coffee. Frank took really good care of my dad, taking the time to ask him what he liked and how he would like his hair styled. He then proceeded to make my dad feel at home. I am so lucky to have come to Eddie, to save my hair!! First visit there. Had Paul cut my hair and Lang did my balayage. LOVED IT!!!! I went few days before for a quick consultation with both of them and we agreed on what to do.  After few bad experiences on the bay area, I finally found a place that I like.  They are very knowledgeable and nice people. Usually people post a pic of their hair when it's just done. I wanted to post a pic after I washed and styled myself. Paul's haircut made my life so much easier. I don't have to waste lots of time blow drying to make it look nice. EDDIE IS EVERYTHING!!! I've been to countless salons, and NO ONE has ever worked such magic. He is truly a master of his craft, and takes absolutely every detail about his client, their facial structure, their lifestyle and job, and their hair into consideration. (For example, he made sure I would be able to easily pull my hair up- which is necessary for an RN! Not only does he want the cut to look flawless, but wants it to work for the client- a characteristic not always seen in others!) Furthermore, no one has ever taken so much time to ensure tailored perfection, beginning with a phone call consultation the night before. Ladies and gents, this is his art form. He also constantly continues his education and training, which is huge.I went in with grown out, dull hair and left *TRANSFORMED* with the most flawless cut and layers that complimented my face AND made my balayage/ombre look brand new. There are not enough words to adequately explain how much I love this salon! Everyone is so kind and fun and you can see that everyone who works here are truly joyous and enjoy what they do. This all begins with owners Paul and Lang. They are such beautiful people who you can feel adore making people feel gorgeous!! My hair was in desperate need of attention and Paul came to my rescue. Eddie makes hair MAGIC happen! I came in with dull, lifeless hair and I came out a whole new person with fabulous hair. I loved how Eddie took the time to really listen to my concerns and yes, he addressed them all. He is a perfectionist and pays attention to detail, which I can appreciate especially when someone is in charge of my hair. The only regret you'll have is NOT booking an appointment with Eddie. Eddie brought new life to my hair and I love it! I went here for the first time last week for a cut and color. I really appreciate how Eddie reached out to me after booking my appointment online to ask about what my hair situation was looking like and what I wanted done. I've never had a stylist call me to ask these questions before my appointment, so that was nice. I was in dire need of a change, so we went with cutting about 8-10 inches and coloring it a dark brown, getting rid of some old balayage. After my longtime hairdresser retired, I had to look for a new hairdresser (which can be daunting), but after reading the reviews on Yelp I found Reconnect. I got a haircut at Reconnect a month or so ago with Eddie and it was hands-down the best haircut (& experience) I have ever had. As I was a new customer, Eddie called me before to have a consultation and learned about my lifestyle so that the hairstyle would fit it (ie. how much time do I spend on my hair, etc.). He had me send a photo of my hair and a photo of the cut I wanted and tailored it to my hair once I was at the salon. He listened really well to what I wanted and kept checking in with me to see if the cut was what I wanted. Eddie is an Amazing hair stylist and a very nice person! After he gave me the haircut, he continued to follow-up even sending me YouTube videos of how I could style the new cut as I had never cut it so short before. I was in Burlingame for a conference and I decided to cruise Yelp and look for somewhere to get my hair cut since I had so much free time in the evenings. Reconnect had excellent reviews so I made an appt. right from Yelp with Eddie. When I arrived for my appt. the receptionist got me all set up. She was super sweet and welcoming. Then I met Eddie, who complimented my hair right away. He got me in the chair, played with my hair for a few minutes, and noticed EVERYTHING I hate and love about my hair without me saying a word! Eddie KNOWS hair. He proceeded to consult with me about what I wanted, what he thought would look good, and then went to work on one of the best haircuts I have ever had, and let me tell you, I am picky. I've been coming here 2 times. There are Paul and Lang the hair sytlists. Paul cut my hair and Lang did the color part. They both are the best and are VERY consistent with the quality in service and hair color. My hair was kind of damage and falling a lot. So, Lang fixed everything for me to make it looks healthier. Not only is she kind and considerate but also she making sure what exactally i'm lookinh for. She also recommended me the best hair products and i'm totally in love with. I will just stick to what i have now. I wouldnt go out of my way for another hair stylist like her. Thanks Lang for making my hair healthy again and back to its original texture. Reconnect is a true gem  in Bgame - and in the whole Bay Area. I've been blessed to have Paul as my stylist and Lang as my colorist (and best friends) for many years. They keep me looking fresh and we try haircuts that are  from A-line bobs, asymmetrical bowl cuts, undercuts with feminine touches, rock chic layered cut, and my latest "frenchy" bob. I've had creative colors all shades of the rainbow, premium highlights, - and natural rich tones that are easy to maintain. I think that's what makes Paul and Lang incredibly special, they know how to make you feel your best, give you what you want while still pushing you to try styles that fit you. Truly, they want to reconnect your inner beauty with your outer beauty. I went to Reconnect Salon for the first time and was very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff and the welocming vibe. I was in need of a haircut and saw Mr Eddie Garcia. I was in for a treat, he transformed my look and gave me an awesome haircut. He is definitely an expert and loves what he does, no doubt!  Eddie was honest and told he his thoughts about what style would look best on me. This review is for Kerry Patten - 5 STARS. Before I moved to the Bay area, I had been with my prior hairdresser in Philly for like 10 years. So, knew it was going to be hard to find a replacement out here. But, after a few appointments at different salons in the area (and having ok, but not great, experiences), I found a last minute appointment with Kerry and (after stalking Yelp reviews and her Instagram to get a sense of past work) booked through Yelp. That was over a year ago, and I've not looked back. Kerry is great - she spends a lot of time in the first appointment to get a sense of what you are looking for and what would be best for your hair. She does not try to over-sell you (for example, told me I didn't need full highlights, only partial), and gives good suggestions (such as suggesting lowlights when appropriate, to break up the brighter highlights), and ideas, even when you're not entirely sure what you want. I trust Kerry 100% with my hair now, and mostly go with whatever she recommends. I never really thought I could be a "blonde" (natural hair color is a lighter brown, with some grays peaking in more and more these days), but I've been really happy with my highlights and have gone lighter than I ever thought would work for me. The tone of the highlights I've gotten from Kerry works well with my skin tone, doesn't go brassy, and doesn't wash me out. And it's nice that the highlights sufficiently hide the grays, so I don't have to go through a double-process to dye my base color (yet!). Kerry is very friendly, super meticulous and takes pride in her work - she really wants to give you the best service possible and wants your hair to look as good when you come back for your next appointment as it did when you first left your appointment! And, bonus, Kerry almost always finishes up with some fun curls! I have gotten lots of compliments, including from my sister-in-law who said that over the past year+ I've had the best hair ever! It's taken me too long to write this review of Paul and Lang! First time I went to Lang 6 years ago she corrected some bad highlights for me. She did a great job and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I get an ombré color from her and it looks very natural and she does a great job making sure it isn't brassy. A few years ago I moved to San Francisco and tried another hair stylist out of convenience but once again found myself going back to Lang to correct a bad color job.
