Ramiro and his team did a great job and worked quickly.  We had a fence, turf, plants, mulch and sprinklers put in.  They did such a good job that we later had them do pavers for our driveway.  All the work was completed with high quality and they were able to modify along the way as we ran into some hurdles.  After all the work was done, I mistakenly broke something in our sprinkler system, they came out and fixed it quickly and didn't charge for the work. We had a great experience with Ramiro and his team. The project was:   a very difficult demolition of  old paving which ended up having a second deep layer of concrete beneath it, removal of artificial turf,  installation of bender board, installing decomposed granite surfacing, building a vegetable garden box, installing irrigation, adding organic soil amendments, and putting down lawn turf. Unfortunately we had to be out of town during the shaping of the bender board, and Ramiro texted photos and Face-timed us during the entire time so we knew what was happening. We ended up having to change some things when we returned, and he was always gracious and professional. His crew worked very hard without complaint the entire time. They seem to be quite busy, which is no surprise, so you might want to get quotes and schedule as soon as you know what your project will be. More...

Ramiro and his team did our landscaping when we built our home and have stayed on as our landscaping maintenance team for nearly 10 years. Just this last year, he installed a basketball sports court, after we had a very bad experience with another vendor. I recently, contracted Ramiro, owner and operator of RB Landscaping to redesign my 92-year-old mother's front yard. He and his crew created a space that allows my mom safe passage from her front door through her yard, to the driveway, and to the adjacent family home without having to go into the busy street. The new yard is adorned with fresh new roses, azaleas and above ground planters that allow my mom the ability to tend to her herb garden without stooping or bending over.Ramiro was extremely professional from the start, coming to the house to discuss the project, offering a well-written, descriptive estimate with a reasonable price and time line for the job. In fact, when a cancellation in his schedule came up, he offered to do our job 1 month ahead of schedule! After the completion of the job, we discovered a small problem with a drain. With just one phone call, Ramiro came back immediately and rerouted the drainage.  God willing, we'll get lots of rain to curb this drought and we'll find out how well the drain works! We are so happy with his work that we've asked him to return next month to landscape the rest of the property. More...

We are happy that we found Ramiro to remodel our front and backyard. We interviewed eight contractors before the project and Ramiro is very professional, responsive and their price are reasonable and competitive. Ramiro explains every step of their work and helped to come up with different solutions when we got unexpected issues. He would also check a lot of stores to find materials that we want. His crew are friendly and punctual, good communication about all updates from the initial estimate to the end of the project too. They did paver walkways, driveway, retaining wall, lawn, drainage, sprinkler and drip irrigation, fence, landscape lights, planting, gravel walkway, mulch, etc. for us and we are satisfied with the result! We had a broken irrigation pipe underground, a few broken sprinkler heads and drip lines. Brian is very knowledgeable about sprinklers and irrigation system and was able to problem solve with me and provide good advice on how to improve the irrigation system. Brian and Francisco were very efficient and fixed all the leaks in an hour!  The owner Ramiro communicates well and responded quickly both to my Yelp text messages and voicemail.  Would highly recommend them! This is a 5 star review of RB Landscaping for their demolition of 40 year old concrete patio and construction of a new 1200 sq ft patio of pavers.  I was pleased with every step of the process and am super happy with the end result.Communication was great, from initial quote, to updates during the wait until construction could start, and apologies regarding delays that were no fault of RB's.  Several questions and decisions came up during construction that were handled quickly and efficiently.  Ramiro could pose a couple of options, weigh the pros and cons of each, and be agreeable to whatever decision I made... clearly wanted the customer to be happy.  Pricing was competitive, and no changes needed to be made to the quote along the way.My heart went out to his crew.  My patio is 2 flights of stairs up from the narrow street, and there was no other way to get the demolition chunks down or the 8 pallets of pavers up other than countless trips on the steps.  You know Rocky's training montage?  These "rock" guys crushed him.  Saw Ramiro hauling stuff too.  All the while they were super polite and friendly.Strong craftsmanship along with the effort.  The new patio is appropriately sloped for drainage, the layout is crisp and even, and the edges and borders are clean, even where they had to meet a curved stone wall.One word of advice, visit paver stores in advance, look through the catalogs carefully, buy a few square feet of the pavers that are your finalists, and test out their appearance for several weeks in various lighting, weather, locations, etc.  After doing so I ended up choosing what was initially my second choice, and I'm super happy with how it turned out. We were referred to RB by a reputable realty company (who we highly recommend:). However our experience trying to work with RB was very lackluster and we now realize he is simply duplicitous. When given polite requests, exactly according to our written agreement, he would scurry away, defy instructions and leave things 1/2 done.  I asked him repeatedly to remove several heavy pieces of construction material. He simply ignored my requests.One of our contractors reported that he noticed a piece his own equipment was missing. The contractor went to RB to discuss the matter. According to the contractor RB reluctantly admitted taking it, retrieved the equipment from his (RB's) truck and returned it to the contractor.RB's attitude went from generally oblivious to very disrespectful and toxic. In seeming vengance, he and his co-workers dumped their sandwich wrappers in the front of the house on the way out. We paid RB in full what he requested, out of respect to our realtor company. We couldn't be happier with the service and work RB Landscaping provided. Romero was prompt and reliable throughout our interactions with him and immediately knew what we needed when we described our project. He had great ideas and his administrative team followed-up the next day as promised with a full quote and plan. The project manager he sent to oversee our work (Brian) was smart, efficient, and friendly. We felt taken care of and relieved to have someone so competent handling our project. We really enjoyed working with RB on our landscaping project. The crew was courteous, always on time, kept the work site very clean, and went above and beyond to deliver an excellent solution for us. They offered great design advice and paid attention to the details. We would recommend using them for any yard project, large or small.  For us, they took care of irrigation, sod, planting, mulching, design, fencing, raised beds, rock wall, and pavers for our patio and path and we were truly impressed with all of it. I contacted Ramiro Monday night about an irrigation system issue,  his bid seemed a bit pricey.  He and his staff arrived up before noon ( 4 hours early) on Tuesday, completed the project successfully including resolving my additional issues.  He and his team were considerate, conscientious, and   cleaned up after the job was completed.   I will definitely call on RB landscaping  in the future. I've been chasing a communicative, dependable and reasonably priced landscaper for my house in East Palo Alto for literally 3 years. I was so pleasantly surprised by the super fast email communication, online payments options, and most importantly, quality of work! I can't remember the last time I wrote a Yelp review, but I'm THAT impressed by the professionalism and output of RB Landscaping. They took on a pretty gnarly task in fixing an overgrown weed situation, but did it quickly and at a fair price. There was a miscommunication between my tenant and the landscaping team about what to do with one of the plants in the front yard, and when I brought this up, RB was polite and solutions oriented. We did a complete remodel of our back and front yards, including a new patio, and could not be happier with the work, efficiency, and professionalism and Ramiro and his team. Ramiro began the process by giving us, first time home owners, excellent advice on landscaping and paver patios. We sought several quotes and Ramiro's was among the most affordable, which is amazing considering the quality of the work. The entire project - which included dismantling an old deck, installing a paver patio and artificial turf and new sod, removing numerous trees, and adding new mulch, trees, and greenery, was done in under two weeks. They came back to me with a date very quickly; Brian showed up on time on the day of the appointment and quickly fixed all issues. Just had a yard project completed by RB Lanscaping and couldn't be happier! Ramiro responded to my request for a bid within hours, came out and gave us a very fair quote to install a flagstone patio, a new lawn and a new sprinkler system. They arrived 30 minutes early, did a quick overview of my sprinkler system, found and repaired all my leaks despite my overgrown magnolia's tree roots getting in the way at every opportunity.
