This is my second time coming here the first time I went with my family and got to enjoy ordering off the menu. we ordered the chicken Tikka masala and rice my husband ordered the lamb curry. The kids favorite here was the garlic naan bread. I haven't forgot how friendly the service was here and the Decour had a modern eleganceOn my second visit, my husband and I got to experience the buffet there were two particular items I enjoyed the most but every buffet on the buffet was hot and ok. I didn't locate to much for the pickled preserve, but I liked their sweet tamarind chutney and the green sauce.they serve each table some fresh hot naan. It is always great to pair with your food.As far as customer service was concerned, the guy wasn't the same people I originally met on my last visit. This young man did his job well. As far as customer service, Sadly he didn't feel so enthused with his job just based off my perception. Wast sure if he hated life or was just having a bad day. I was looking forward to having the same service I had from my first visit. We ate at Rasoi in Jersey City in August when we were visiting NYC. Then, came home and realized there's one in Chesapeake! We couldn't believe it. Very exciting. The decor is nice. Modern Indian with touches of sleek industrial vibes. Nice space. Adequate service. The young man was pleasant but away in the back a lot and there was this constant beeping coming from the bar area right next to our table that would go on for more than 5 minutes at times until he returned. It was annoying. Even my in-laws who were visiting from India, who usually aren't bothered by such things, kept asking us what is that noise/alarm? We didn't know...maybe that's how they set their phones? We ordered 3 veg dishes and a house chicken dish. The gravies were amazing. Delicious. Full bodied and perfectly nuanced with flavors yet robust without being over spiced or too robust. We were 4 adults. The Sham Saveri was amazing. However, it had only 3 tiny spinach paneer dumplings in a big bowl of sauce, which was really strange. We had to eat a bowl of sauce with rice- delicious sauce but what happened to the dumplings? The chicken was our biggest letdown. Again, the korma gravy was delicious. The chicken was so dry and over cooked, it was squeaky. The dal makani and saag paneer, garlic naan also delicious. A lot of very high notes with a few unusual and disappointing low notes, which is why I gave 4 stars. That doesn't mean we won't be back. We absolutely will to try more and to try some items again. We finally found the perfect Indian restaurant in Chesapeake! This is our 2nd time! The first time we had lunch buffet and wasn't impressed because it was just not spicy for us. Today my husband wanted to eat something spicy! He ordered samosa and lamb curry and plain naan! Everything was delicious and the lamb curry was spicy and savory! It's really spicy but is very good quality! It was meat with bones (like ribs) and you dip the naan in it and also eat with the basmati rice- it was awesome! After searching and trying different restaurants for nearly a year we finally found this place to enjoy authentic Indian food! The servers are of good service! I ordered veggie fried rice for my 3 year old and came out it taste spicy because of peppers and spices and the lady server just took it back to the kitchen and came out with a different plate. My son didn't eat it but they tried to replace it and said if is still spicy they will change something else! We both really enjoy the lamb curry! Rasoi is the perfect place for lunch if you are craving a great selection of Indian food! I go at least once a week. They serve you a basket of fresh naan straight to your table if you go with the buffet. The selections on the lunch buffet are updated frequently, so every time I go there is something new to try. I wish I would have been able to take a picture of the food my table received but we ate it abnormally fast! This is AMAZING place for Indian cuisine! The server (young women in glasses) was so sweet and informative with our group's large amount of questions on the menu. Pay mind to how spicy you want it. Get mild if you can't handle it, however if you like a happy amount of spice, medium is the way to go! The chicken curry, chicken korma, and the paneer pakora were my favorites. My extended family of nine dined here for a dinner and I was delighted with the service and the food. The ambience is simple and elegant. Their menu is very extensive and features not only Indian food but a few Chinese items as well. We sampled soup, several different pakoras, several naans, and ten different entrees around the table. Each dish was expertly prepared and served. For the quantity of food served, I found the prices to be very reasonable! This large order may have challenged the kitchen staff, but they came through royally. The entrees came out three or four at a time with only a few minutes between each wave and each dish was obviously given careful attention. I particularly appreciated that every entree was served with its own bowl of basmati rice, sparing us from having to pass a few bowls to each other along the large table. And the kheer was warm, fresh, and delicious! Our server was very attentive to our needs throughout the meal. And the restrooms are nice and clean!  Each of us left the restaurant very satisfied and most of us had extra food to take home. I was also impressed with the takeout containers: they were of excellent quality and were not going to spill in the car on the trip home. This was the best Indian buffet that I have been to.  They don't dumb-down the flavors and spices, which was a really pleasant surprise. There was also a very nice selection on the buffet.  For meat, there wetlre three chciken options.  The standard tikka masala was nicely flavored and tasted fresh.  There was on the bone Desi chicken curry which was really nice too.  The chicken kebab was a little bland for my tsste however.  The veggie options were the stars.  They had the best veg korma that I've had, with a nice spiciness.  The veggie biryani was fantsstic, with a strong cumin-infused spiciness.  Probably the best dish on the buffet.  Saag paneer was also excellent.  Was also served fresh naan tableside, which was a nice touch.  Dessert was, in my opinion, the two best Indian desserts.  Wonderful carrot halwa pudding, and the lightly sweet rice pudding with rose water.  I had heard very positive things about this restaurant, and I can confirm them to be true.  Just wish it was in a better location, as it is in an endlessly congested Sam's Club strip.  I look forward to trying a freshly-prepared dinner one night soon! This place was good when it was India Palace and is even better now. They have updated/expanded the already great menu to include even more options. My wife and I order from this place at least 2-3 times a month it is THAT good.The only reason for 4 stars vice 5 is a couple of times the sauce for the masala was broken, after a quick stir it was fine and tasted great but it was a thing.For those that say it isn't authentic I challenge them to prove why. I have traveled from CA to NY and sure I have had slightly better in NY (also 10X's more expensive) but locally, no way! I've still never stepped foot into Rasoi IV but I have ordered through Door Dash 5-6 times now. (My DD delivery fee is only $1. 99 plus tip) Generally the Chicken Tikka Masala is my standard go to, but today I ordered the Chicken Haryali and OMG! My taste buds were blown away! This is easily one of THE best chicken dishes I've EVER had - period. There's a little tang, a little heat, a little savory... just a very well-balanced flavor. The actual boneless chicken was perfectly cooked as well so it was super tender, not at all dry and no weird fatty, stringy bits - it's obvious they pay attention when preparing their meats. I always order naan and chutney with every meal - I've never been disappointed. My only minor complaint is that rice is usually included (at least when I've ordered other chicken dishes) and I didn't get any today. The menu is not clear about when it is and isn't included. When I first started ordering from Rasoi, I added rice as a side several times only to end up with too much (double). The last few times I've always gotten it included. Then today - nothing. Edit: Thank you to Rasoi for clarifying below which dishes do and do not include rice! I appreciate any business that cares enough to follow up here.Overall, I highly recommend Rasoi IV. For the record, I do not agree with another reviewer that stated the Indian restaurant in Ghent is better. Now that I've found this dish I'm pretty sure I can convince my husband to join me AT the restaurant sometime. We ordered a Samosa Chaat and the chicken curry lunchbox through Door Dash. I was expecting 2 regular samosas, but this dish was a samosa in a thick  tomato gravy with chickpeas and yogurt. It was the best Indian dish I have ever tasted and a very generous portion!!The chicken curry lunchbox was so delicious and generous as well. It comes with the chicken curry and vegetable dish of the day, with basmati rice and 4 pieces of naan bread.  The spice blends in everything were perfect and we felt like it was a party in our mouth. I ordered for my daughter and me, but it was enough for my husband to have some too. He originally didn't want it, but after hearing us rave about it, he decided to try it and loved it! He said it was a flavor explosion like a fireworks finale in slow motion.The delivery time was very quick, it was here in about 15 minutes, hot and fresh. So far one of the best Indian Restaurants in the area.  I work with Indian IT consultants and they say this place is as real as it gets for the non-Indian community. The food is really good and flavorful. The  ambiance is clean with nice decor but Oh my goodness.... IT IS COLD in there!! Bring a coat!My go to at any Indian cuisine is Butter chicken - chicken makhani is my favorite here. You can go mild to spicy. The only thing is the portions are small for the price. The #78- almond paste chicken is sautéd and comes out sizzling. It's one of the manager's recommendation but it wouldn't be mine LOL. It was under seasoned and the paste on the chicken didn't give it a good texture for me.All the rice dishes were good, the butter naan is best when you dip it in the sauce of your dish! Stopped in for lunch on a whim and I'm glad I did. The food was EXCELLENT! It was later around 2pm so I was a little worried the buffet would be sparse, but they were still replenishing as needed. The Restaurant was beautiful and kept very clean, the staff was friendly, especially the owner. There was a table that had an issue with the spiciness of the food and the owner was happy to promptly take care of it. I also like how they respond to every review and are not defensive and still professional even addressing the more negative ones. If I had to give 1 critique, I would've liked to see the buffet kept cleaner. White linens were used under the chaffing dishes that were splattered with sauce (maybe use a darker color?) and I would suggest changing out the serving spoons to avoid having dried food on them mid lunch/dinner service. Enjoyed a wonderful evening with our family at Rasoi IV Authentic Indian Cuisine this weekend. This was my first time trying Indian foods. The menu thoroughly explains each item but we asked the waiter for his suggestions.  He suggested I try a delicious chicken dish in a tomato sauce served with rice. It was #99 on the menu. Absolutely delicious. We all also enjoyed the Sweet Corn Soup to start. The assortment of flat breads were so very good. My husband had a delicious lamb dish. Our son and his family have been going there since it opened as it has an extensive vegetarian selection. Our group of nine had a wonderful evening and will definitely return! They did it again!  Changing my diet to include more fish so decided to try the Macchi Ka Tikka Tandoori dish. The salmon was soft and juicy and veggies cooked just right. A must try!
