Food and service were good! Only issue was that one in our party ordered a glass of house Cabernet. She recommended it when we arrived. It turned out to be $12 a glass, one of their most expensive. Good food....server was excellent. We had a party of 8, and he was kind enough to let us know his manager had added an automatic gratuity to everyone's ticket. We were on separate checks, and this alone can make things tough on a server. The chairs in the DR were exceptionally comfortable. 11/26. First, i have eaten here before. The food is excellent. The service is not. We have been seated 15 minutes. No waiter or waitress has acknowledged us let alone gotten a drink order. 8 empty tables in dining room so not exactly swamped. Started out bad, they fixed the problem once made aware of it. I was very happy with my first experience at Range Grill + Golf. The Rosemary Chicken Salad and a side of mac and cheese(with bacon, of course) was wonderful. The chocolate chip cookie with ice cream was huge, and oh so tasty. Hats off to the chef! The staff was very friendly and offered to show us around. We had the most amazing lunch today! Jeff and I both agreed this was the best food we have ever had in Des Moines. The Elk and Bison melted in our mouth. Such a fun yet sophisticated place! Went for dinner and a round of golf. The cheese/charcuterie plate had an excellent assortment of meat and cheeses and the Prairie Fire Chicken flatbread was perfectly spicy with fresh tomatoes. Great beer and cocktail selection as well. Not only was the indoor golf center beautiful and state of the art, but the bar area and restaurant was just as chic. But the real shining star here was the staff. Had the bison burger and it was amazing. Other seemed to enjoy their food as well. Service was slow however. Took 15 minutes to get a water refill and drink orders took almost as long. Asked for ketchup with my fries which didn’t come then had to ask two more times. Fries were cold by the time I got it. Maybe it looks tacky at nicer restaurants but just have the ketchup on the table if it’s that much of a pain to get. Drinks are over priced too. Had a small beer and Moscow Mule and it was $18 with tip. Only minor things...I’ll go back for sure. More...

Amazing! What a great place! Food was delicious and exactly as expected. The Range-bit burger was perfect and prepared as I requested. The kids loved the 10" skillet cookie! Our server was amazing and professional even while training. The kids got a tour of the golf simulators and a few minutes to test them out. All of the staff was genuinely very friendly and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. We'll drive the 30 miles anytime to enjoy this place! So much thought and preparation went into this and it shows the moment you enter the door. You'd never know they've only been open about a month. Definitely put this place on your "must try" list. Our friends came here on a Friday night and loved it so much wanted to go back on Saturday. Food was excellent. The elk tenderloin was so tender and tasty. The main rule of thumb for any review I write is ... what is the condition of their restrooms. I always wash my hands before eating and it serves a dual purpose in that I can check out the cleanliness of their restrooms. This is a key folks. If the restroom stinks, dirty .... so is their kitchen. This place had a spotless and refreshing restroom. So 5 stars on that.

I had a salad. I thought it good. Tasted dishes of others at our table. Thought they were good too. My standard is ... would I write home about it? Probably not.

If you are a golfer and enjoy the indoor golf thing, this is a nice place to go to.

To be fair, we had a group of around 20 eating so I know the waitress had her hands full. They put a fixed tip of 18% on the tab. I would have tipped 20%. More...

We had a blast!!! Way too many drinks, way too much golf and way more fun than I thought we'd have! We were the first to arrive and the last to leave. We had reservations for valentines day here and we were seated immediately at a very nice spot. Our server Ali was so knowledgeable and helpful, seemed like they had a tough night a bunch of people arrived and they got backed up.
