UNPROFESSIONAL, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DISGUSTING, NO ETHICS, UNEDUCATED, BARBARIC, UNCIVILIZED, NO MANNERS, DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE

Upon entering my house they are like crazy wild animals invading our house pushing pulling furnishings all over, anything in their way they put things anywhere they want to with no care, dumping stuff in the bed which should not be. They don’t ask where to place things. I am in total shock with their behavior and become speechless. I was not inform ahead what to expect during the re piping or was told to empty under sink cabinets or remove furniture’s in their way. Understanding doing their job but be respectful and anything you touch inside my house you ask permission with respect.
When I saw their filthy shoes without shoe cover roaming all around carpeted areas my blood boils no work protocol? I gave them shoe cover to wear they ignore me as if they hear nothing and as if I don’t exist being the owner of the house. It is being clean and hygienic your filthy shoes germs and bacteria to contaminate my house. Still holding and controlling my temper wondering . . . . .

WORST OF ALL WHEN I SAW MY OWN PERSONAL TOILET IS MESSED UP WITH SHIT, BUBBLY, DARK COLORED, STINKY, HANGING UNDERNEATH THE TOILET SEAT, SO SICKENING, VOMITING, BARBARIC, UNCIVILIZED, CRUEL, BRUTAL and what was done is UNFORGIVEABLE – UNFORGIVEABLE – UNFORGIVEABLE
That washroom was open because they are working but they don’t have the right to use it knowing they shut the water off, they or whoever among them use it has no brain or he is brain dead. I am not stupid not to allow you use a toilet if you ask, but not my own personal use. There is another one for men but knowing you shut the water why did you not go to your Employer RAKEMAN which is only 1 mile away from my house. If you have the shame in which you don’t have. Not anyone of them apologized 5 of them in my house they became MUTE!!! that is when I EXPLODED

That Rocky called me to shut me off with $300. To pay a cleaner. I said am not asking for money but to discipline your people and to educate them to follow work protocol on their job. He said “he insists” Did he do it? Of course not. I know it was a bluff!
There is a lot more to this story even the secretary who cannot take messages complaints.

Background of the plumbing issue:My hope is to help others who may have the same problem we had. Our house is in Henderson, NV where at one point, the homeowners were notified they might have to repipe due to issues with Kitec pipes.  My husband and I who are firm believers in "don't fix it if ain't broke" philosophy stayed our ground until this year when a slab leak happened. We then decided to have the repipe done. How we researched contractors for the job:We spent a lot of time researching via the internet. We live in California so it is difficult to find local people in Henderson, Nevada. The best link we came across was from Total Solutions which listed the Primary contractors and others for the Kitec Litigation Program in Nevada. See link below:kitec.totalclasssolution…It was a big surprise to learn that after we made phone calls, a lot of the companies listed were either inactive, bankrupt or moved somewhere else. Reason could have been that the Kitec buzz was some years ago... I guess we are late bloomers! From the Primary List, we picked one of them, our first candidate. Then we searched the City of Henderson's permit section to find out the latest permits issued and to see if we can spot Kitec repipes that were recently done. We found at least three homes, one of whom has just been sold. Upon further research, we found the repipe company who did the work.  This company was our second candidate.  Then we went to search in Yelp, for the third candidate. You hear a lot of stories about made up reviews, but if you are careful, you can spot the scammers. From Yelp, we found the third candidate.Next step is to google everything about the candidates, read up on all the reviews, check licenses, Better Business Bureau complaints etc. The three were invited to do the estimates, emailed them questions afterwards as to their services and products they will be using. It is important to make everything in writing compared to verbal/phone calls. Then we researched the products to be used, called the manufacturer for details, who then emailed us the answers. It was very tempting to make your decision on who to pick based on the price/estimates presented.  All three of them appear to be decent contractors and competent. If you can afford it, don't let the price stop you from choosing a quality company. We are glad we did, in Rakeman!Rakeman Plumbing:Decision was made based on who can help us the best, now and in the future, based on experience, knowledge, history and name recognition. We choose Rakeman Plumbing out of the three. It was a wise decision we later found out.  Not only are they accommodating, they employ very good people. That's their secret for longevity I think. Rocky Berger knew his stuff, he explained the Kitec Repipe process like no other. After we received an estimate and informed him his company got the job, we asked for a copy of the contract for us to review. Reading the exceptions in the contract was scary at first but once he explained them, we realized they have to cover themselves too.  A day before the job was started, we wrote the company a check for half of the cost of the repipe. The repipe process: First day, started early at 730 am.Garage was open the whole time they were working. We stationed someone at the garage area to secure the house from strangers not connected to the job .Appliances were moved, dishwasher to the garage and refrigerator out of the way. A couple of workers did the plastic protection for all affected work areas. Water was turned off, drywall was cut for specific areas and repiping started soon after that. At around 5 pm, amazingly, water was restored! Adan and his crew, made that all possible.Next day, city inspector showed up, did his job and educated us on some points about the job being done. In the afternoon, the drywall was put back and paint was applied in affected areas, garage and inside the house. Miguel and Lola did a beautiful job on the color match for the paint! Next day, the dishwasher, refrigerator, garage sink and water softener unit were put back in place. We opted to have a new Pressure regulator and that was also installed. Post repipe phone calls with Rakeman:After the final check was issued, it is of course normal for a homeowner to worry if the contractor will even receive your call or text you back afterwards! With Rakeman, it's different. When something minor needed to be done, his men came back, the same way they started before: respectful, competent and nice. Thank you, Rocky and thank you to all the workers at Rakeman who made this a great experience!Tip:Respect goes both ways, when you deal with workers, treat them with respect, be nice and try to always ask for their first names. This way they will treat you and your house with respect. Make them comfortable and make them feel they are fixing their own house. You will get a lot out of it. More...

I woke up to water on my garage floor from my water heater and called Rakeman plumbing at the recommendation of a friend who works in home repairs/improvement.  They were fantastic.  They got someone out to my house right away and they quickly replaced the 14-year old water heater.  Corky was the repairman and he was really great (very funny) and knowledgeable and explained everything to me.  This week, I needed to replace my water softener and I requested Corky again and he was efficient, helpful and explained how everything worked.  Plus, he brought in my trash cans!  Also, a shout out to the people I spoke with on the phone (Dawn and Angel).  They were fantastic.  I highly recommend Rakeman Plumbing. Great job!Just as finding a good car mechanic is difficult, so it is with plumbers.  From a referral, we now have Rakeman to use. We needed a plumber for a job which would involve a fix inside a wall, then the drywall repair and painting to finish it up.  They did it all.  They came out to quote when promised.  The quote was good, so we OK'd the job. They plumbers came out when scheduled, as did the drywall/painters to do the job.  They all were efficient, didn't waste any time, and were fantastic on the cleanup.  It's like they were never there.  The cleanup was really impressive since they prepped the area with plastic and tarps, making the cleanup easier since there was less mess to start with. The crews were theirs, so we didn't have to deal with contractors.  We liked that as well.  All the workers were courteous and professional.Their office staff was available to answer questions before and during the job.  This is important since we had a lot of questions.  We will keep Rakeman in our Rolodex for future jobs, if needed.  Thanks guys. We've used Rakeman several years ago so when the insides of my toilet needed replaced along with the toilet shut off valve that spun freely and never actually shut the water off, naturally I called Rakeman, at 3pm. on July 5th.  I spoke with Cindy who had Alex M. here by 4:40. Alex is super polite and has been a plumber for over a decade.  He fixed the toilet and the valve (which required a little extra work as it's an old place) in just under an hour. Alex M. worked in a small bathroom and got the job done quickly and correctly making some needed adjustments as well and explained exactly what he was doing. He was totally done by 5:30 and I have same day piece of mind and a working toilet (actually a much better working toilet) and shut off valve for under $200 which was way under the phone estimate. They had a tech their by 10:30. A great guy named Randy. He located the problem, and gave me my options. I could repair it. Or, for not that much more, he could install a whole new faucet set. I told him to go ahead and put a new one in. By noon, I had a brand new faucet, at a great price. Previously, I had used this company to install a water softener, and also to fix a cracked pipe in my front yard. A really great company to do business with. More...

This review is a couple of years late. With all due respect to plumbers they're just not at the forefront of most people's minds, so I didn't recall my great interactions with Rakeman until I ran into a new plumbing problem (which I'll be calling them to resolve tomorrow). My plumber at Rakeman was always Mike. He's a big guy who doesn't mind working his tail off to fix problems ... he's definitely not one of those guys who takes one peak and then whips out some crazy bill. This guy worked his rear end off trying to fix an issue our builder stuck us with. He couldn't, but no regular plumber on a truck could've: The builder didn't install a clean-out in our front yard, so Mike could have stayed all night trying to fix that and nothing would have happened. His level of "I'm GONNA FIX THIS" was just out of this world in today's society. He was like a man possessed.Because of that I call Rakeman everytime I have a plumbing problem.PS - I took estimates for fixing the clean-out in the front yard. They ranged from $1200 to $25000. Rakeman was very close to the lower end of bids. More...

Good & bad reviews about plumbers saturate the internet because each of us has our own expectations and I suspect some reviews are fake or paid reviews. My name is Glenn Welt. In 19 years as a Vegas/Henderson resident, homeowner, business owner, consumer advocate, photojournalist and perfectionist, I've experienced good and bad contractors. Thousands of Nevada homes were built using Kitec fittings to connect water lines. I ignored years of notices about the defective fittings, the lawsuit, the settlement and ability to get free replacement fittings because I believed my home did not have Kitec. May 2015, a neighbor mentioned that his home was re-plumbed 2 years ago by Rakeman Plumbing and that I could get a free inspection of my home, so I phoned Rakeman. Rocky Gerber knew exactly where to look for the Kitec fittings because his company has re-plumbed many homes in my neighborhood. He made 3 holes in my walls and showed me the Kitec fittings. BOTTOM LINE: Rakeman Plumbing did such a great job, you can't even tell they were here, despite having made 14 large holes to replace pipes and fittings in 3 rooms of my home. They carefully covered all my furnishings and flooring so nothing was damaged. There were 2 minor "hiccups" along the way but Rakeman rectified them within 1 hour, which impressed me even more because some plumbers are slow to respond after a job is completed. Rocky Gerber, Kristina Williams, Robert Murph, Sergio's team and the painters put a big smile on my face. Kitec fittings might have failed and flooded my home at any time. The Rakeman team removed all that anxiety. When they repainted my walls I was amazed to see a 100% perfect color match and they left me with extra paint as a free bonus. It doesn't get any better than this. More...

I really despise calling maintenance workers at anytime. It makes my stomach hurt. When I had to call a plumber on Mother's Day this past Sunday, I just wanted to whine AND cry and throw a tantrum. So at 5:00 pm I went online and searched for a plumber that knew manufactured homes because my dad lives in one and their parts and machinery are different. James at Rakeman Plumbling answered the phone immediately. I cringed when I asked the price because I knew it would be ridiculous. He said $112 an hour plus parts. Not too bad, but I did start to sweat a little. Two things were wrong: the water heater had a leak, and the sink in the master bath had a leak. James says he'll be there in a few. And he was. And let me add that the website was honkin and he came loaded with every part in a very big impressive truck. Their motto, "A flush beats a full house". My marketing ears were perked. He looks at the water heater and tells me what's wrong and I was thinking how happy I was that my ex-husband was an engineer with a degree in piping who builds refineries at Chevron. Yup. I am in the know. Well actually, my ex-husband is German and has three degrees in engineering but who's counting.... At the same time James checks out the master bath and tries to repair the leak but that is fruitless. I know because I replaced everything I could but it needed a whole new faucet and hardware and he had tools that would rival my fathers antiquated ones. Well, he fixed the water heater and said it would be cheaper for us to buy the new faucet and he would come back the next day and install it. We said yes please! So my dad and I hightail it to Home Depot before they close because now it is 8:00 pm. We get the faucet and we're back in time for The Good Wife. That's right. You heard me. SEASON FINALE and I'm not gonna miss it. Leak or no leak.Next day as promised, I get a call asking if James could come by to finish the job. Not to mention he hasn't been paid yet. He arrives as promised and installs the faucet. I get a call from my dad wanting to know if the amount was right and should he pay. He tells me $360. $112 per hour (2 hours) plus $120 in parts and tax. I said pay the man. It was worth every penny. And toke him too... that's tip in Vegasese....BTW my dad is 86 and the last time that faucet was changed was over 22 years ago when my ex-husband changed it out. We had been visiting from the bay area and my dad couldn't go gamble with him until the faucet was done. My ex changed it in less than 30 minutes and off they went. Good times..... ; ) More...

I am amazed at this story about Rakeman's Plumbing in North Las Vegas and I want to thank them for being an honest business that goes the extra mile for loyal customers - a rarity in Las Vegas, in my experience. My elderly mom and dad have encountered several scams and "elder abuse" monetary issues in managing their home in Las Vegas since 1995. I have taken a few of these on for them from Los Angeles (the least of which was Home Depot, who eventually made good on the $500 issue) because they are simply not tech savvy enough - although they are intelligent - to maneuver today's complex digital business world when things go wrong - they've been retired for 20+ years. So I was grateful when they used Rakeman's for a couple of bigger plumbing jobs on their house and they seemed satisfied and felt the pricing was fair. Then recently, they had a toilet issue, so they dropped into Rakeman's to ask if it was something they could help them to fix. To my amazement, one of the Rakeman workers went to my parent's house and fixed the toilet for FREE. This just does not happen in most places. Please support this extremely decent business - who does good work at a fair price - and values human beings over hourly billings. It meant the world to my folks and to me for them to be treated so well. More...
