Try one of everything!The server was very generous and allowed customers to try bit of each for their plate. I was elated to find vegan options at a local Fremont event. Added (vegan) items to the buffet: cinnamon sugar naan--good, but if you want to sweetness be sure to get the sugar ha, falafel--fine, has a crunchy outer, roasted eggplant--did not like. Something about it is weird to me.

Raja's Tandoor is one of my favorite buffets as a student at UC Davis. I come here at least once every week because the food is so delicious. There are many vegan options as well as some meat options that all hit the spot. A must have is the Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and naan. Additionally, I really like the environment of the restaurant, especially the seating on the outdoor patio; it has an overview of the entire promenade area. The part that makes this a 5 star review is the fact that the owner really cares about each of his customers. He always goes around and asks to make sure that everything is going well with his patrons. Raja's Tandoor is a great spot to enjoy guiltfree Indian cuisine! The owner is so kind and friendly and made a point to greet and have a conversation with everyone who came in. Many of the items are vegan so don't expect to have the rich experience of regular, cream-based/butter curries. Still, this place is flavorful and has lots of variety in dishes. The standout dish for me was the coconut milk broccoli! I could eat plates of just that. The price is wonderful too; just 9 dollars a person at the buffet. Wonderful play to eat & a lovely man who owns or who is in charge. The food is great. I highly recommend checking this place out if you can. I just wanted to update my review a little bit.This is a buffet. This means you put things on your plate that you are trying out for the first time or not. There are signs here though that say "don't waste food". So when you decide you don't like something you are leaving with wasting food. That gives me anxiety.. It's extremely flavorful, tangy, and umami. they also have a food truck that goes to the Davis farmers market on Wednesdays may I suggest you get the Pakora fries with tikka masala on top. .. its top shelf. I would say the food here is 3 stars and the value and service is 5 stars. Owner is exceptionally friendly. The food is quite good for the amount they charge so this is a perfect place for college students and just happens to be right next to campus.
