This is a fantastic salon. Right when you walk in, you'll notice it's gorgeous, beautifully decorated and very clean. I had called ahead needing to fix my hair (it was damaged and I needed an overall change) and they recommended that I come in for a consultation, which was informative, so I booked an appointment for the following day. I was greeted warmly by the owner, Trish, who is awesome, kind and knowledgeable and had Cindy for a stylist. I don't think I could have asked for a better one - she listened to me and helped me achieve exactly what I wanted. She is very skilled and did an excellent job. So I'll see her in 6 weeks for a touch up!Overall, this place has great energy and I highly recommend it. Came here for a facial a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. The place is a little cramped/awkwardly set up, but there's room to move around. As far as I could tell, there was only one room for facials and it was pretty dark in there. Space felt clean though. I loveee it here!! I trust Odelie to use her amazing knowledge and do what she thinks is right for my hair, even if I had something different in mind! ! I've only used this salon once, but so far it was a five star experience. The stylist I got was on point for everything I wanted for my hair. They even squeezed in a quick brow wax for me. Everyone was super professional and nice. It's also a no-tipping salon which I hope means their employees get paid well. I hope at least. I can't say enough good things about this salon! I was referred to Elyse by a coworker of mine and today was my second time seeing her. The first time, I had brown hair with some old blonde highlights. I brought in a picture and she gave some suggestions and I ended up with an AMAZING burgundy color with violet highlighting for dimension. I was so happy with it and seriously have never gotten so many hair compliments in my life! She is very easy to talk to and you can tell she knows what she's doing.Everyone in the salon seems up-beat and friendly. The salon itself is very clean and bright and gives off a laid back vibe. This a great group! I have had my hair cut and/or colored and styled by Skye and Desiree. I have also been helped out by Elyse and Kori. I'm sure everyone that works there has helped me at one point or another. I have branched out and done fantasy colors twice now, once purple, currently a blue-green. I am loving it! I get so many compliments. Whether you are looking for a basic cut or some crazy color, these girls can do it. I also get my eyebrows done by Kelly, and she does a terrific job. Love, love, love this place! I've been a few times now. Everyone is always welcoming and friendly. The salon is spacious, clean, and bright. I never have to wait for my appointment; they are always on schedule. The employees take your coat and hang it in the back for you. There is a small waiting area with water (often infused with fruit) and little candies. I've gotten my eyebrows waxed here a few times and now I don't want to go anywhere else. Kelly, the senior esthetician, is super friendly and engaging. She is an eyebrow magician! She is quick but doesn't rush. She does the best job anyone's ever done on my eyebrows. She clearly pays attention to the shape that works best for my face. No pain. No irritation or breakouts the next day, even though I have very sensitive skin. Kelly recommended a great eyebrow pencil to fill in my sparse brows but she was not pushy at all. She's fantastic!I love the separate shampoo room with comfortable chairs and dimmed lights. I've always been offered a complimentary mini facial and when I take them up on it it is always a good experience. Elyse has cut my hair multiple times now. She listens to what I am looking for and always does a great job. I always leave happy with how my hair looks and feels. She recently dyed my hair blue for me and did a fantastic job. Desiree has cut and colored my wife's curly hair multiple times now and I always love what she does. This is the first non-tipping salon I've ever been to. At first it was awkward for me, especially because everyone there does such a great job and I want to acknowledge that. Now I'm used to it and appreciate that the price listed is the actual price and I know what to anticipate. Radiance Aveda is THE place to get a facial.  From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly, asked if I wanted a cup of coffee and was told that Angie would be right with me.  Angie Torres is fantastic.  The room was very relaxing and in addition to having a great touch Angie gave me a full and thorough report of the condition of my skin and catered the facial to my specific needs.  Also included was a hand and foot massage with warm towels - such a nice added touch that really made me totally relax.  Getting me to relax is not an easy thing to do!  This facial was a birthday gift from a friend that has been regularly using the Aveda skin care products and was sick of listening to me whine about getting older!  It was the best birthday gift I've received in a long time.  I got the products that were recommended by Angie and have been using them for about three weeks.  After the first week a coworker (a MAN) stopped me in mid sentence and asked me how  I get my skin to look so young!  Now THAT was the best birthday gift ever.  The products are fabulous, my skin feels amazing and if you haven't been here or to the Salem MA salon what are you waiting for? Hands down the best salon experience I've ever had! I was extremely nervous about a wedding that I was attending that day so I opted to let them do my hair. One less thing to worry about! My hair not only came out amazing but it was like a free therapy session as well. Kori was great and such a sweetheart! The lady at the front (didn't get her name, sorry) was amazing! I told her a little about what was going on and she calmed me down immediately. She was just really caring and sincere. I asked for a little make up help as well and they took the time to give me a 'finishing touch.' After I was done I was so happy that I was  literally ready to start handing out $20's to say thank you and give them a good tip. They wouldn't take a cent!! Unreal!! I insisted, and still nothing. This place really surprised me. I was visiting Salem and thought getting a facial might be nice on my vacation. I looked up the prices and it was $85 and no tipping. Woah, way cheaper than Boston and Cambridge (I found out later that they have $65 facials on Wed. and Fri. WHAT!) Kelly did my facial and she was great. She asked me questions, looked at my face, and seemed to know what she was doing. I love how Aveda facials include hot towels and massage for your hands and feet. It was really relaxing and my face looked great. I'm not sure about their hair and nail services, but I highly recommend the facials here. The front desk staff was really sweet too, I asked if they had an iced tea that Aveda often has and they didn't but she made me a cup! Nice. The only negative was that the previous facial was running late so I waited 15 minutes without really being told what was happening/how long. I love this salon! I came in my first visit with an uneven long-bob, I had just gotten at another salon. It was corrected by the stylist Eylse and made me fall in love with my new hairstyle. I also went from a brunette to a pastel pink, so she bleached and colored my hair which went amazing. My color was gorgeous and my hair still felt healthy. The mini facial with my shampoo was lovely, as well. I really enjoy the refreshments they offer too! Super friendly staff. Had my hair cut and colored by Desiree and she did a great job!!  It was my first time getting a cut with her and she asked really good, detailed questions that made sure we were on the same page. I've only had great experiences at Radiance Aveda. Great cuts, free mini-facials with shampoo, terrific makeup, great brow shaping. I've taken out of town friends there too, and they also had great experiences.  Salon is clean and welcoming. I don't color, so can't speak to that, but cuts and everything else all top notch. Visited Salem for a wedding last weeknd.  Since I had most of Saturday to primp, I wandered into Radiance for a facial and fancy updo.  My facial with Kelly in the morning was AMAZING!!! I come here once a month to get my eyebrows waxed with Kelly. It's so reasonably priced ($15) that it's worth it to have them done than to attempt to do them myself. Kelly does a great job and has managed to reshape my eyebrows that I've been plucking too thin since high school.  I also get my hair cut here and they do a great job. I have extremely thick hair and have had to have it thinned out ever since I was a child. Cori uses a new technique to thin out hair and after she thinned out my hair, I felt as if the weight was literally lifted from my shoulders. I can put my hair back into a ponytail now and use clips and barrettes that I couldn't use when my hair was too thick. I also enjoy the complimentary mini-facial with every hair appointment. Plus the fact that it's a no-tipping salon means I don't end up spending a fortune. The atmosphere is relaxing and visually pleasing. I'm not usually a "high-maintenance" kind of girl, but when I come here I feel like I'm doing something nice for myself. More...

I had my first visit to Radiance last week and had a Brightening facial with Judy. She did a wonderful job (I'm still smooth and glowy) and I was shocked when I handed over a tip to be told that tips aren't accepted. Wow! What a break for my wallet! My only suggestion would be to TURN DOWN the blaring music in the salon! The facial room was really nice but I found it jarring to walk in and out to an aural assault. Just got my hair cut by Corey (medium straight bob) and I loved it. She gave me exactly what I wanted, and it was a really high quality cut. I also liked the fact that she confirmed a lot of things with me several times along the way (length, part, layers) so there were no weird surprises. I highly recommend her. I also decided to get a spur of the moment 10 min chair massage from Kelli and it was the best $10 I've spent in a long time. Love this place. I've been going on and off for 5 years. I work in Boston so I sometimes go to a salon in town for convenience but always come back to Radiance.  So much better than the Boston overpriced and under serviced salons. I usually see Sam for my colors and cuts...she listens and gets it right the first time. I've also seen Desiree and Cori when Sam hasn't been available and they are both great as well. Have been going to Radiance for 7 years and love it! As a man, I don't really look forward to hair cuts the way many women do, but since you have to go, it might as well be as pleasant an experience as possible right? Radiance is perfect in this regards. relaxing, easy, quick. Great care, friendly staff and nice space. My cutter has been doing my son's hair since his first one and she was excellent with him even at his early, squirmy, stage. Today was my second visit to Radiance for a haircut.  After some discussion with kori ,my adorable,energetic stylist, I decided to have her color my hair.  I usually do it myself because it's easy to do and comes out ok.  I may possibly never do my own hair again.  Kori did a wonderful, meticulous natural awesome job.! I ended up at Radiance after deciding I really, really needed my hair cut, like, immediately, and my current hair stylist was not working that day or anytime in the near future. I made a same-day appointment with Desiree who was wonderful! I wanted something a little different, and let her kind of do what she wanted- and I'm so glad I did. I also asked her to change up my color a bit and add some two toned highlights. Aveda color is great, it looks so natural and smells so good. The mini facials that they offer for free with your cut/color are great. It's a nice little pick me up during the day. I don't particularly like getting my hair cut and I have never felt compelled to be a repeat customer at any salon. I have now been to this place 3 times in a row! I will definitely go back the next time my hair is overdue for some attention. The room where they wash your hair is so relaxing and you can have a free mini facial if you would like one! They have always been really friendly and if I ask advice about a product for a particular purpose they are very helpful, but I have never felt pressured to buy their products like I have at some other salons. Also, this salon has a no tipping policy and they told me the best tip is to keep coming back so that is what I have done. Love this place! I've been in 4 or 5 times now, and I always get compliments on my cut.  The first time I just asked Trish, the owner, to do what she wanted, and it was a pretty radical change for me, but she knew just how to cut it to compliment my features.  The color is great, and lasts.  Of course, as the other reviewers mentioned, the scalp massage and the mini facial are wonderful, but it's the whole experience that just makes me want to go back every time. From the minute you walk in, you feel welcomed and relaxed. They offer you tea or ice water with lemon, they remember you immediately,  and when you are done, they will even re-do your makeup with the wonderful Aveda products so you don't have to go back out with a bare face after your mini-facial. Okay, so I have been in Boston for 6 years and have bounced from salon to salon trying to find a place where I a)get a great cut without paying a crazy amount, and b)a place where i feel comfortable and very low key.  Who knew I would find it in Salem of all places.  I go to Samantha and she is great, never that pressure to have to talk, she know when i jsut need to relax. After a recommendation from a friend, I went for a cut and color with Rene D. I am so glad that I did as she is a real professional who delivers.  The salon is a no tipping salon, which is nice. Also, with your cut or color, you get a mini facial and shoulder massage. Not only do you come out looking good, you are also feeling great. I came here for my wedding day hair and makeup, and for that of my bridal party. In short, I've never looked so good. I received so many compliments on my hair at the wedding, and my makeup looked gorgeous without being too heavy. My bridesmaids all looked great, and my wife was absolutely stunning! From the trial run to the final product, this salon was flawless. I  have been going to Radiance Aveda for many years and would not think of going to another salon.  Thris is great, a bit quirky, but fun.  I love the way she styles my hair, which is very thin and straight, not an easy cut.  i pretty much open to change so I have had many different colors, currently is is a wonderful shade of red.Kelly does my plant peel and eyebrows.  She is very skilled at her profession and a doll!  Kelly  is expecting a child and I'm somewhat freaked about not being able to see her.The small touches including a free mini-facial, head massage and no tipping are just an added bonus. I'll be returning to Radiance on Saturday to get my hair cut AND colored--a first for me as I've been a from the box hair color gal for years now.  I first went to Radiance in January and though my appointment was to be with Kaleigh, Trish-the owner-took care of my hair because Kaleigh was out sick.  She also charged me what Kaleigh would have charged rather than her own rate which is a bit higher by dint of her experience and that she's the owner.  Trish made me feel comfy right away and she gave me such a fresh, contemporary cut. The mini-facial, given while your conditioner is soaking in, was beyond relaxing.  I kinda wanted to just move on in and live there.  Radiance is that Zen. There isn't any sort of power-tripping or snobbishness, everyone was very genuine.  And OMG not only is Trish an incredible hair stylist she is a scream! She had me laughing which made things more fun.  Don't think that this is a pretentious place where everyone is so full of themselves.  They're just really talented people who take pride in in their work. I had more compliments on my hair from friends and coworkers than I've ever had before and Trish made sure I knew exactly how to recreate my style before I left the salon. I did give it three $$$ because if you're on a tight budget it might be a bit much to pay  $40-$60 for a haircut.  But it is worth every penny and no awkward tipping either.  Can't wait to try out a full facial at some point.  And I want it to be Saturday so I can have my hair cut, colored and chock full of fabulosity! I am very spur of the moment, and one tuesday I decided I was finally going to get my hair done. I came onto yelp hoping to find a nice salon that had an opening, and after calling a few places this was the first that could see me. The girl I had was great however she no longer works there. I admit I was pretty bummed, but when I called to make another appointment I was reassured I'd be in good hands. The owner, Trish, ended up doing my hair. I wanted a change, but I was indecisive as per usual. Trish was finishing up a girl who let her do whatever she wanted to her hair. I've always wanted to do that but end up playing it safe. After talking to Trish and seeing how good the customers hair came out I decided, what the heck, do what you think would look best.Trish: "Are you ready for bangs?"me: ::gulp:: flashing back to my horrible, hair-spray soaked round & huge bangs, I nervously say yes.I'll admit when I opened my eyes I wanted to cry. It was just so different. She knew what she was doing though and I decided to smile and give it a few days. I have NEVER gotten so many compliments in my life. Insane. I have grown to love my hair and plan on rocking the bangs for a while. Radiance Aveda has become my permanent hair salon, & I highly recommend it!Oh ya, when they wash your hair they offer a complimentary mini-facial, which I thought was pretty rad. I've never had any facial so I'm not sure how this falls on the scale but I enjoyed it. The whole time I was there I felt comfortable and welcome. Their products really do work by the way! I really like this Salon. I've been several times, and I think they make a big effort at making you feel like a customer in the true sense of the word. I give them an A+ on the "extras": mini-facial, shoulder-rub, no tipping. It completely sets them apart from other places.However, I would only recommend Sam for a haircut. I've gone to Corey twice and the second time the cut was so uneven and bad I had to have someone else fix it. And during the haircut she said: "Who's the best haircutter?" I wanted to laugh, but instead I just didn't answer. It was highly unprofessional and immature. On a better note, Sam is extremely professional, nice, and fabulous at what she does. I had heard good things about this salon so I was fairly confident that it would go well. However, I was also looking to do a big change. ..cut my hair off!...so I was also a little timid, since it was my first visit.  Not an hour before my appointment, I coincidentally ran into a co-worker that gave rave reviews of the place.  Phew...my intimidation was quickly receding.  When I arrived for my appointment, I told them I was open to anything.  They immediately suggested an edgy bob (a look that I had been eyeing for a while).  The cut and highlights came out great.  I also got a facial and shoulder rub...a bonus I had not been expecting.   I would definitely return again.
