Erik and I got married this last January and absolutely loved our experience with Rachel! What drew us to her was her professionalism, creativity, and how she wanted to meet our needs and wants in our photos. My husband and I are not very great at taking pictures, but Rachel understood that and made our experience amazing. When we first met with her to talk about our engagement photos, she wrote down all the things we love to do together and places we enjoy going together. From there she went out of her way to find great locations by where we lived to make the pictures "us". As for our wedding, she was perfect! We told her what we wanted and she did exactly that. Again, since we aren't very great at taking pictures, we were both nervous, but as soon as she knew how we were in front of a camera, she went with it. We have been lucky enough to work with Rachel for the past 5 years, from engagement pictures to our two maternity photo shoots, and I can’t say enough about how special the photos that she has captured are to us! Rachel is a treasure. From the engagement pics to the wedding itself she has been both professional and personal. When planning our wedding, choosing a great photographer was one of the first things we wanted to do. We're so glad that we found Rachel. She was so amazing on a number of levels and she stands out from other wedding photographers for a number of reasons; She dedicates the entire day to you and doesn't limit herself to a certain amount of hours. She works with a partner, which meant nothing worthy of being captures was missed. We got a digital copy of all of our photos as part of her package. She's works as an independent photographer, so all our money went to the artist. Her price was very reasonable compared to her peers and well worth it.

Working with Rachel was amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process. She went above and beyond our expectations. She was amazing at staying in close contact. She always made time to talk to us over the phone, email, or even meet with us at the wedding venue far in advance of our big day. During our engagement photo session, not only did she get some amazing shots, but she did it while helping distract and play with our dog at the same time.

On the day of the wedding, she was so amazingly organized and flexible, constantly telling me "We can make that work" whenever I requested a last second photo, someone was late or the lighting wasn't ideal. She got all of the shots we requested, which was not an easy task for a wedding with 300 guests, a groom that was late for photos, and rain most of the day. We were even impressed by many of the little things she did. She was constantly in contact with her partner, who was taking photos of the men getting ready, letting us know that they needed some of our food and when we needed to send someone over who knew how to tie a bowtie. She held the flower girls hand when she wasn't in the photos. She was constantly keeping track of time and reminding us of what was next, and at the end of it all, she presented our photos to us in a beautiful packaged box that will be displayed on our coffee table forever. Rachel is such a blessing to my family. We initially got connected to her through a past senior portrait job she held, but as soon as my husband and I met her in person we fell in love with her professionalism, her personality, and her pricing! She wanted to get to know us through an engagement shoot, and we had the time of our life laughing and wandering the Colorado Mountains with her! Recently, I went to a wedding where the photographer spent 75% of the time talking to the bride and groom about how they wanted things to look, what shots they should take, what they should do next. I found myself extremely frustrated that the day was more about the picture than it was about just enjoying being the bride and the groom. But I came to realize the only reason I was frustrated was because there was none of that at my wedding. Rachel is so prepared, she asks all of her questions ahead of time, she has schedules, and lists of all the pictures you want taken. She knows every person who is important and makes sure to capture beautiful pictures of everyone. Rachel went above and beyond with all the shots, and photos she delivered! She captured every important moment and so much more of our wedding!

As if that wasn't enough proof of how wonderful she is, she then photographed my brothers wedding, as well as my sister-in-laws wedding! All three weddings were in different states during different times of the year with very different themes. Rachel was able to capture the unique beauty of each wedding while consistently presenting incredible work. She also likes to surprise you with a couple gifts along the way! Rachel will continue to be a part of our family - with family photos in the fall and soon to be lots of maternity and baby photos! She has earned our trust and confidence by intentionally focusing 150% on each photo, and making each project or couple feel like the only important thing in the world at that time. Have you ever been caught off guard by love? I was, just recently in fact. It hit me out of the blue when my eye snagged one of the wedding pictures Rachel had taken of my husband and I. It's not that I haven't seen it a hundred times, but that day it stuck out to me. It captured more of a candid moment between us, where he is looking deeply and lovingly at me with a big ol' grin on his face. I'm laughing which he makes me do-- often. I was transported back to that day in an instant and you know what? It made me cry. Because, my husband still looks at me that way and well, I still laugh.

So what does this have to do with Rachel you may ask? Only the best photographers can see beyond the framed picture, and capture the true essence of a feeling-- a timeless moment. She made us feel so comfortable we forgot she was even there. Yet, with professional, guided instructions she pulled out the best in us.

I could go on about her charm, her warm and friendly character, passion for your personal shoot, intuition, professionalism, knowledge, confidence, etc. Or I could even talk about the logistics of price, availability and what not. I think plenty of other people can attest to those things, though. And you know what? Those are not necessarily the first things that come to mind (although they are all true). Rachel came highly recommended to us through photographer friends of ours and we could not be more pleased with how she captured our day. When we met with Rachel, we were drawn to both her enthusiasm for her work, and also her attention to detail. She would bring up angles/ideas/colors/plans for the day that we had yet to think about, and it made planning for the desired shots extremely easy. Where to even begin... to say Rachel was amazing and easy to work with is an understatement. When we first met Rachel, we knew instantly that she would be the perfect fit for our special day, because she didn't come in talking about her and what she offers, she immediately started asking questions about us, how we met, and it was almost like we were meeting a friend for coffee, not a vendor- we LOVED that!
