I am a graduate student at Princeton, with four years of math tutoring experience. My knowledge in the subject paired with enthusiasm makes a perfect fit for working with middle schoolers. I charge $30 per hour for an online lesson. I know that math can be a stressful subject, so I would love to help relieve the stress!

What do you love most about your job?
When I was younger, math was not just a class, it affected the way I viewed myself. If I was struggling, I thought there was something wrong with me and my ability to comprehend information. What I love about my job is reminding my students that their worth is not determined by their scores. Additionally, I love showing them that they can comprehend math, it just needs to be explained to them differently. Math tutoring is more than just teaching students math, it is about encouragement and overcoming challenges.
Math Comprehension and Enrichment
I believe it is important to discover each individual's learning style. I work with my students to find a teaching method that fits each of their unique needs. I learn their strengths and use those to show that they are capable of understanding math, it just needs to be explained to them differently. It is also important, especially with online tutoring, that my students know I am present with them. To emphasize this, I use a whiteboard and sit in front of the camera while teaching and working on problems with my students right in front of them. Overall, I create a space where my students are comfortable to ask questions and we advance their understanding of math together.
