Our server was terrific and the atmosphere is beautiful however, after spending $71 for a meal just for myself I felt the need to go to the local Burger King drive-thru. The portions are way too small for that type of money, the quality of the food was OK but nothing outstanding compared to other restaurants with the same type of food. This place will not be my first choice in the future More...

What a great place for dinner! A delicious departure from the typical shore food. Curtis our waiter was attentive, on top of all of our needs. And he makes a terrific old fashioned. We splurged on the chef's tasting menu which was well worth it. A terrific tour of the varied menu options. They even let me substitute a dish. All around great experience. More...

I placed a carry out order around 6:30pm today for pick-up at 7:15. The restaurant took it upon themselves to cancel the order without even contacting me. So I drove all the way to Lewes to get my dinner to be told by a very rude employee that they were "too busy" to make my food and they weren't required to let me know. I guess when you think you have the greatest restaurant on earth (because yelp said so), you can say to hell with customer service, right? Horrible business, horrible service. More...

This is our favorite restaurant in the Lewes/Rehoboth area. We have now dined 3 ways. First was a big sampling of their small plates, then a regular dinner with large plates, and finally a Happy Hour. Each experience was top-notch.To start, the Indian themed cocktails are to die for. Each has a different twist using top shelf liquors and Indian flavorings. The small plates/appetizers are out favorite food offerings. Among them are the Cauliflower Manchurian, Swordfish Tikka, and Smoked Eggplant Chokha. Also, give the Honey Chili Water Chestnuts a try! There is a separate Happy Hour menu to keep trying different dishes. The owner and the entire staff are helpful and attentive. While the prices are higher than your run of the mill Indian restaurant, the imaginative offerings and superior service make it worthwhile. More...

Our server Brian was wonderful--he gave us some great menu recommendations, including the swordfish tikka, which was my favorite dish (just typing this is making me want to up and drive back to Raas so I can have some more!). Also phenomenal were the vegetable samosas and chicken tikka masala. Raas also had a great cocktail menu. I can't wait to try more dishes the next time we go to Raas! More...

The community raves about Raas however I will not. We visited Raas for a birthday dinner. and upon being seated we asked if we could have a different table. The host said he'd look into it however our waiter (head waiter David) said, "absolutely not, we are stacked with reservations." This was our first visit so when we were trying to decide what cocktails to have David became frustrated with our need for a few more minutes. When he returned to take our drink order, we placed an order for small plates as well. He asked about entrée order and we said we wanted to have our appetizer first and then order dinner. David said, "chef prefers all food orders placed at same time so he can pace himself" . Whilst we were waiting for our drinks we heard the waiter , Brian, tending to the table behind us say to the table, "would you like to order small plates or enjoy your cocktails for placing an order?" Additionally, we heard the host tell another couple as he was seating them, "there a few tables to choose from". When David delivered our drinks we inquired about both these things. He put the drinks down in front of us and yelled, "I cannot do this anymore, I will not be treated this way!". He slammed menus he had in his hands on the floor in front of us, walked away and barked to Brian, "you take that table over." Needless to say, I flagged Brian, asked him to cancel our food order and for the check. David delivered the check, i handed him my credit card and he proceeded to tell me that we have been nothing but argumentative since being seated and he has never been treated this way. I shared I will call to speak with the general manager and that I knew quite a few people who frequent Raas and that they will be disappointed to ear of our experience. He said tell your story, I will let them know you were argumentative and rude and he walked away. The birthday girl left upset and crying. When I called the next day to speak with GG the Chef, he let me know he was aware of the story as David had spoken to him. He shared with me his culinary history, and let me know he can't change the past and said "sorry". He also said come back, call me, and I will host you for a great dinner. I am firm in saying I will never step foot in to a place that appears to be LGBQT unfriendly and treats women with total disregard. More...

Bottom line: Excellent Indian food. Expensive but worth it. Highly recommend the lamb shank rogan josh. It comes on the bone but falls off easily into a warmly spiced sauce that we continued to use for dipping. Two of us split it with a couple of appetizers and Naan, and it was more than enough. The cauliflower Manchurian was also incredible. Sophisticated mix of Indian and Chinese flavors as well as texture - crispy fried outside with soft, not overly done cauliflower on the inside. More...

My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Raas. The atmosphere was great and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. The food was exceptionally flavorful, fresh and well presented. We had a Chenin Blanc wine, from India, which paired fantastically with our food: Crispy Fried Okra and Swordfish Tikka (from the “Small Plates” menu) as well as the Chicken Tikka Masala and Duck Breast Korma (from the “Large Plates” Menu). Food at this restaurant was ok, it was expensive for what you got, and I wouldn't recommend the cocktails here, they weren't very good. Service was on the slow side. If you're visiting for dinner I would recommend reservations for indoor dining, we ended up eating outdoors and we all got bitten by mosquitoes which didn't make the experience enjoyable. We ordered the saffron chicken and samosas for starters, wasn't keen on the saffron chicken, it didn't have any flavor to it. Samosas were better. We had biriyani and chicken tikka for main, these entrees were good, although the rice with the chicken tikka could have been better quality rice. The garlic naan was pretty good. So a mixed bag. This charming Victorian house turned restaurant offers up some of the best Indian food in Delaware. The friendly staff is a welcome change to some of its snooty competitors in downtown Lewes. The menu changes often and features a combination of traditional and Asian fusion dishes, as well as an extensive wine and cocktail selection. Chef GG delightfully oversees the kitchen, where superb ingredients undergo an amazing transformation into delicious delicacies available in a variety of spices. Best of all, reservations are accepted, which makes Raas one of only a handful of venues in Lewes where waiting for a table isn't the only option. More...

Welp, every week we order dinner from Raas, via a delivery service. We happily pay for the food, tip and ease of staying in with a nice meal. Tonight, delivery took forever and I called the restaurant. I am not a restaurant owner and am inexperienced, I guess, w the inner workings of delivery. The gentleman (ha) I spoke to was outrageously rude and obnoxious. Insisted they didn't deliver and told me to go back online to take care of it myself. Well! The food arrived. Ice cold. Greasy. Certainly not worth the price or the wait this time. Not sure we will be back. More...

Wow. I am shocked at the positive reviews here. First thing, the waitress was wonderful. The ambiance is hideous with the dated decor, ugly wallpaper, and terrible lighting. We were shoved into a tiny booth... we are four small people but it was uncomfortable. The prices are extraordinarily high for what you get. They are advertising a rack of lamb and gave three tiny lollipop lamb chops for $45. They can charge what they want for their food but should be transparent about what they're serving. One piece of bread was $6. I got a chickpea dish, which probably cost them $1.50 to make was $24 and was mediocre compared to my local takeout Indian restaurant. We spoke to the manager/chef about our disappointment with the lamb and he was extremely condescending and would not acknowledge that he isn't truly serving a rack of lamb. He condescendingly suggested he will change the menu to reflect what they're serving, which is a lie. We paid and tipped well, so at least listen to our feedback. Any chef knows what a rack of lamb is. Good for him though, he must be making bank serving his mediocre food for these prices. I suggest ordering from your local small business takeout for Indian cuisine. This place has no ambiance, a condescending owner, and you will be paying fine dining prices for mediocre food you can get for 1/4 of the price. More...
