When I went last week my food was excellent however my check was for 40.05 which I paid with my card but, I did not leave a 10. 00 tip on my card. I left a cash tip. tell me why I checked my bank statement today and it says I was charged 50.05 for my meal. I will be calling as soon as they open tomorrow. Apparently they have a thieving server working for their establishment. I'm beyond angry. So, watch your account if you pay by card there. More...

We had gone to R Bar at the old location multiple times and the food was always good. I definitely liked the Hefty Lefty and the Enchilada Burger. The new location has been open a while, but we just haven't had the opportunity to come. We arrived at 11:45 for lunch and only a few tables were taken. When we left, the place was full. When you enter, it's restaurant to the left and bar to the right. The special that day was an Asian shrimp dish, which I almost got. I decided on the Philly cheesesteak with grilled jalapeños. Boy, was that the right decision! You could smell it as she walked towards the table. The sandwich was overflowing with meat and plenty of jalapeños. Delicious! The cold slaw was different and I really enjoyed it. John got their version of a California Club which looked delicious. I can't remember the waitress's name but she was awesome. She should be giving lessons on the fine art of keeping your customers extremely happy. Since I don't drink, I didn't look in the bar, but I'm sure the service is just as good. I definitely recommend the R Bar and we will be going back. More...

The waitress we had today for our late lunch was really great and attentive. We had the R Bar burger and philly cheesesteak, and split it. Both were delicious and so were the fries. The mozzarellas were absolutely incredible! Not sure if the ranch and marinara sauce are made in house but they were also amazing! More...

Went here with my family (7 people including myself). We waited over an hour to get our food. One person ordered corn and fries which should have been brought out long before an hour. Also, my mother-in law ordered the Caprese flatbread, everyone at the table heard but seafood fondue was brought out instead. When I asked the waitress if they would please at least discount her meal (I didn't even ask for her to take it completely off), the waitress went on to blame my mother in law. The waitress was very nasty with her tone and mannerism. I am very disgusted with her attitude and the service at Rbar. We will not be returning here for any occasion and I will not be making any recommendations for friends or family to come here. More...

Your (not so typical) bar and grill to take in a game and meet up with friends. Atmosphere: This is very much your typical sports bar environment. Large open areas lined with tables and  chairs that can easily hold groups of people who want to get together for a drink and catch a game. Bright and very clean. 1 Star. Service: Beyond great. As we walked in the door  we were met by a waitress who told us we could head in and sit anywhere we would like. So we walked on down into the first room and found us a seat where we could easily see two of the monitors. Within a minute or so, our waitress was at our table taking drink orders. She asked about appetizers (which we ordered) and whether we wanted to order food yet (we didn't.) She came back a couple of times until we were ready and explained the special for the night as well as answered all of our other questions. Another waitress at one point, who just happened to be passing by, also checked on us to see if we needed anything. As we were leaving the bartender, in a totally separate room, noticed us and cranked his head around the corner to make sure he thanked us for coming in. 2 StarsFood: This is where the "not to typical" part comes in. This place is everything like a sports bar with the usual wings, burgers, and finger foods, but the menu is elevated above all that with well thought out dishes you won't find at your local bar. We started the evening with a couple of appetizers; the Fried Mac and Cheese Balls and the Pretzels and Beer Cheese. The Cheese Balls were warm and gooey and served with a Ranch dressing. The Beer Cheese was delicious and the Pretzels were the perfect crunch and then chew you expect from a good pretzel. Only thing I would complain about was the lack of salt, such as a good Maldon, on the pretzels. The wife ordered the special for the night which was a substantial portion of lemon pepper pork tenderloin that included bacon and cheese stuffed new potatoes and grilled asparagus (which was perfectly cooked.) I opted for the Patty Melt which was 2x 4oz Akaushi (yes Akaushi!) burger patties with gloriously melted Swiss and Pepper Jack cheeses along with caramelized onions and a house made bacon jam served on sourdough toast. It had a fantastic combination of both sweetness and saltiness. Usually an afterthought, the fries were fantastic on their own. They had a savory seasoning on top and were prepared perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. They could have been a meal on their own. There were so many other unique items on the menu, from 4 different types of Mac & Cheese entrees, to Flatbreads, to unique daily specials to entrees named "Machaca" and "The Fighting Chicken", that it was difficulty to choose an item from. 2 StarsOverall: A true Abilene gem, with an inventive menu, thoughtful daily specials, and fantastic service. I now question why it took me so long to visit! This will not be my last visit however. There are too many menu items I want to try. Especially the Sunday special I noticed as I was leaving: Chicken and Waffles! 5 Stars well deserved. More...

We came here for the first time for lunch after church. We were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere we liked. Our server was really great and I regret not remembering her name but she had beautiful red hair. We asked to start with the fried ravioli app. It came out quickly and man they are SO GOOD!! Never had anything like them. For our meal we got the Monster Mac and Buffalo Bacon Burger. The mac and cheese was absolutely delicious and brisket was juicy. I ventured out and decided to try it (thanks to our server) and I finished every bite!! My boyfriend had only great things to say about his burger. I definitely recommend going here as a place to have drinks..lunch/dinner...or both! I took away one star because our entres took a while although it didn't seem too busy (but our server checked on us plenty so no big deal) and we ordered buffalo fries & got regular. Other than that..great place. Worth going to check out. :) More...

The margaritas tasted like they had no alcohol in them, the bartender said she couldn’t do anything about it, so we ask to speak to the owner, the waitress come back and said we would not be charged for the drinks, and was told to remake the margaritas with double shots, but still tasted the same, on another note the food was good but we won’t be going back for margaritas maybe beer and food
